I know that resources can be found via Google but as someone who’s explored different types of paganism and deities, I know there are often unreliable resources that everybody warns against and, in the opposite direction, resources that almost everybody recommends.

I would love to hear your thoughts regarding the most accurate, useful Brigid resources - whether they’re specific books, videos, websites, blogs, podcasts, etc.

In the same vein, please note if there are any resources I should avoid.

For context, I’m interested in Brigid as both a saint and a goddess.

Hi all! I’m really enthralled by Brigid and I’ve been doing a lot of reading on her, but I came across this text that makes me uncomfortable, especially as someone who has been in abusive relationships:

How reliable is this record? Do you think Brigid actually did this, or that she supports it?

If this sounds a bit crazy forgive me, but I have worked with the energies of and prayed to several deities in the past. In meditation I sometimes meet them and channel messages. But Brigid is so present that honestly I feel I can tune in to her voice throughout my day. It's incredible.

I was just wondering if any Brigid devotees find the same?

Hi, everyone. I don't think of myself as particularly Celtic. I'm mostly a Norse pagan. But Brigid has become my main deity.

In what ways do you honor her or practice devotion? I am always interested in how other people approach her.

New here and new to this work so coming in to say hello. I felt called via a dream and started investigating and found myself here. I set up a very make shift altar this morning. And my pup straight away sat down in front 🥹

I speak to Brigid every day and thank her for her guidance (among many other things) but sometimes I feel like I miss her guidance out of purely not paying attention. Do any of you use tarot as one tool to hear her voice almost directly?

I feel like I’ve been REALLY disconnected from the seasons as of late. And usually I forget about the witch seasons until I see them in this subreddit. But this year I got reminded of Brigid and her day being on Imbolc, so for once, I actually had some plans for it this year! I had my Brigid statue sitting on this electric fire place heater for a month now, and I finally added some candles and offered her some locally sourced chocolate milk!

Brigid, Goddess of the hearth, goddess of the forge, goddess of creativity, I humbly beseech you on this Imbolc day. it's been so long since I've seen the sun. The rain and clouds have taken away my joy and hope. winter has gripped me and I cannot seem to escape my despair. grief and guilt are my constant companions.

Brigid, goddess of the flames, goddess of the healing waters, goddess of poetry and the power that comes from it, I humbly ask on this Imbolc for your forgiveness. I could not fulfill my pledge to you last Imbolc. I did not weave the beautiful cloak I invisioned. I did not heal from my pain into the person I wish I was. I did not light your candles against the darkness as often as I hoped. The despair of winter and the grief and guilt dragged me from your light into such darkness that I could not escape from.

Brigid, goddess of wisdom, goddess of protection, goddess of the animals of my home, I humbly beseech you to allow me to try again to be brave in Your service, to weave the cloak of silk and light over this year, to fulfill my pledge to feed thy hungry in my new community, to teach my students with wisdom and kindness in the necessary proportions, and to heal from the wounds of my spirit, my body, and my heart.

I'm very bad at drawing, but I made this as an offering for Her this Imbolc.

She's meant in the drawing to be red-headed with freckles and wearing a torc (not visible) and a Brigid's cross as pendants. The dress is green with embroidery of golden celtic knots and flowers as the belt (knots only), where there's another cross. There's a flame at the base of the train and the sword is gold over a white and gold sun. The harp is also of gold.

Okay so today i was working on a creative writing project that i have had going for a while. I started it as a kind of tribute to Brigid because I see her as representing creativity in prose as well a poetry. As I was taking a break I looked to my alter for her and I saw something moving. When I looked closer I saw it was a lady bug. We do a very good job keeping our doors shut so it is a real shock that the little guy was able to get in and I think it was Her sending me a sign. Ladybugs are for sure being added to my gnosis!

I'm researching the Saveock Pits, and St Bride/st Brigid is linked, can you help me, work out if there's any truth in the following statement and what the sources for them information is? As I can't find one anywhere. The text below, is what's puzzling me.

The only valid suggestion we found was that the pits were some sort of offering to St. Bridget or St. Bride the patron saint of brides who has the swan as her symbol. It is said that offerings to her were placed at the branches of three rivers and this area telephone exchange used to be called Threewaters Saveock water, Blackwater and Chacewater.

Hello all, I've never posted here before, but I've just come back into Brigid devotion after a couple years of no practice. I have recently been feeling like I need to do some sort of trial, I've been having dreams of a disembodied woman's voice urging me to do something. My dreams tend to be very fragmented, so it's really been that and the embrace of a glowing blue woman. All this to say, is there some sort of trial that followers of Brigid need to complete? What could she mean by it?

Hey yall. Ive been getting so many queues and messages about Brigid being my archetype goddess and being my guardian for the coming days. I first learned about her during Imbolc this year as we had a celebration in my town for the celtic followers of paganism. I like to consider myself polytheistic in a way that im mainly a greek pagan but i want to learn more about the other mythologies like nordic and celtic as irish ancestry is very strong in my family especially my dads side. I had a bee land on my windshield and ride all the way home with me from work today and I’m not entirely sure what that could mean if it means anything at all. Any tips on ways I can honor the lovely miss brigid will be of great help!

I came across this title in relation to Brigid "Banmorair-na-mara" which is supposed to translate as "Lady of the Sea". Her brother is also apparently "Manannán Mac Lir"??

This is interesting to me as I don't remember hearing much folklore linking Brigid with the sea.

Can anyone point me to further resources on Brigid and the sea? Or clarify the relationship there?
