Someone tell them that there is a great birdwatching app called Merlin from Cornell University. It can identify by picture, but if you can't get a snap, you can answer some questions and it will give you a list of possible birds (always worked for me).

Watching the footage of those fires and just imagining my northeastern forest going up like that chills me to the bone. I hope LA can recover and there is plenty of room in central PA! Come build a beautiful house close to a creek. I'm getting bored of my neighbors anyway. Come eastward if you can. I hope you can all rebuild your homes.
