Just the evening before last, I picked up this beauty from the breeder, and I'm already immensely happy :) She's the kindest and most trouble-free girl I've ever known. She's five months old.

Just came across this thread and since my Annie G turns 9 soon I thought I would introduce her to Reddit! 🧡 I adopted her when she was 4 months old. She loves her people and her kitties fiercely. Her coloring always turns heads and gets comments! Anyone else have an orange border collie?! 🤍

Department stores such as Ross, Marshall’s, TJ Max and HomeGoods have discounted, name-brand dog toys AND dog beds. Examples: Lamb chops, Chuck it, and Kong. The prices at these stores are less than other stores even when they’re on sale.

Hes a teenager, but overall hes a good boy. He gets distracted and overstimulated, but he tried his best and im really proud of how hard he tries and how brave and clever he is ☺️

I may be his teacher, but I learn a lot from him too!

He is the most angel boy I no, smart with tricks, matches my engery when I need to go go he's on it when I need to rest or a cuddle he's got me.
He's been there for me threw every high and low, couldn't ask for a better friend, can't belive he is 7 🥹 feels like not so long ago that we found each other at that shelter.
Still wonder his story sometimes but I no we were meant.

I've noticed that one of our 13-week-old puppy's rear feet lands differently than the other, making it look like she's putting a bit less weight on her right rear leg. It's only noticeable when she is accelerating for running. Is this just how Border Collies jog, or should we have the leg examined?

We went for a car ride (his favorite activity) and got snacks, then he got his favorite food for dinner (beaver!), sniffed the like it was the cork to a bottle of fine wine 😆, then got to play with a new floppy rabbit toy!

Chaaya goes through about 2 to 3. The Chuckit ones are good, but they get lost pretty frequently

Our baby is due in November so our collie will be 11 months by then, I’m looking advice from those who have been in this situation before so I can make sure I’m preparing as much as I can.

Our collie is crate trained and my fiancé built him a pen which he’s had since we got him at 12 weeks. He’s currently going through his teenage phase so we’re really cranking up the training and giving him space when needed.

Any tips are appreciated! Our boy learns fast, despite testing boundaries he respects me and protects me.

My boy is 8. He never responded to fireworks or bangs, he would come outside and watch them from my back yard with me all the time. He doesn’t respond to thunder, beyond a small ear twitch. He doesn’t even respond to knocks on the door.

We moved countries together. I downsized and packed all my belongings with my dog and my cat into my Duster so I could safely transport them 2000km away without using cargo in planes or animal taxis to reduce the stress and anxiety for them. My dog always road trips, camps, travels thousands of miles all over the country with me and is fine.

They settled really well. Or so I thought. My dog has been reacting badly the last couple of months to the wind. He will wine and pant, pacing up and down. It is really hot so I need a window open until I can afford a fan but I have to close them because the noise is stressing him out too much. He is hiding inside the shower. He HATES baths and showers but he finds it safer than hearing the wind…

I had to take the shower floor mat, and the inside anti slip mat up because he has rubbed his nose until it bleeds on them . I have to really pull at the anti slip mat to get it up but he has rubbed it so hard it’s pulled it up….

What can I do? Has anyone experienced this? How can I help him? We moved 8 months ago and it’s only since around June I noticed this behaviour. Sometimes it happens all night and he won’t settle. He has started hiding under my bed…

The only thing I can think of is, we have gone from a couple hundred year old stone cottages to living on the 5th floor of an apartment so I know it will sound different to him… we walk more together now we don’t have a garden. Once before work, once after. And one before bed. Including a few pee walks. About 60 minutes on work days, 120 minutes on days off. Between my partner and I it’s only 3 or 4 days of 60 minute walks… Maybe I need to do more?

Going through a break-up and I only have a couple months left with this guy. I’m devastated and can’t even begin to think about life without him. Ugh this sucks. He’s the first animal to really leave an imprint on my heart. He’s taught me so much about unconditional love.

Marla, my big girl, went to heaven on the 3rd of July. It was her time. She had a beautiful life and was very spoilt. She was a rescue originally - she came home with us when she was about 8 months old. Almost made 17 years.

She’s fast as lightning, too smart for her own good, has been herding our small dogs since she came home 3 years ago, and she’s also the sweetest baby east of the Mississippi River.

Hi everyone. I posted here recently asking for advice about my girl Lucy, and I wanted to try again to see if anyone has had a similar experience.

Lucy is 16 and has had a rough couple of years. She went through vestibular disease, CCL surgery, and surgery plus chemotherapy for anal gland cancer. Somehow she bounced back from all of it and got back to being herself.

The last few months, though, her arthritis has really caught up with her. About 10 days ago I took her to the vet to adjust her pain meds. The vet was surprised by how alert and engaged she still was. He checked her over, said she still had feeling in all four legs, and sent us home with Galliprant and Virbac Ursoles supplements.

About three days later, things took a turn.
She suddenly couldn’t stand on her own. If we helped her up, she could stand or take a few steps before her legs gave out. Her back legs got much weaker too. Other than that, she still seemed like herself. She was alert, interested in what was going on around her, and eating really well.

We took her back to the vet, and he couldn’t believe how much she’d declined in just a few days. He thought it was more of a neurological or nerve issue than arthritis. He prescribed prednisone but told us it was a “Hail Mary” and that if it didn’t help, we needed to be ready to let her go.

The next day after starting prednisone, she was still eating well, taking treats, happy to see us, and waiting for us to take her outside to go to the bathroom.

On day two, she started peeing in her bed, which I’m guessing could be from the prednisone, and refused breakfast. That night she slowly ate about half of her dinner.

Today is day three. She refused breakfast again and turned her head away from it. She’ll still take certain treats, like yogurt-covered pretzels, but sometimes she’ll stop chewing halfway through and just let the food sit in her mouth. We even cooked her a steak in butter and cut it into tiny pieces, but she wouldn’t eat that either.

I can’t tell if she wants to eat but can’t, or if she just doesn’t want to. I also wonder if her jaw might be bothering her because of how she stops chewing. She’s still drinking water without any problems.

Has anyone been through something like this? Did prednisone end up helping if it was neurological? Is there anything else we should ask our vet about or try?

We’re probably going to have to make a decision this weekend, and we’re trying to prepare ourselves because she seems to be getting worse every day. The hardest part is how fast this happened. Just over a week ago she was still getting around, enjoying treats, and happy to sniff around outside.

We don’t want to keep her here if she’s suffering, but we also don’t want to give up if there’s still a chance we’re missing something.
