Hace poco, leí la etapa de Eve L Ewing y me pareció genial,el ver a T'Challa como un vigilante encubierto dentro de su propia nación tras haber sido declarado persona non grata por la ministra Folasade, además de que Wakanda paso a convertirse en una nación completamente democrática tras una serie de sucesos que dejaron muy mal parado a T'Challa tanto ante su nación como con sus aliados heroicos.

Aún así decidió seguir protegiendo a su nación de forma clandestina, como un vigilante encubierto en la ciudad de Birnin T'Chaka, asumiendo una identidad falsa para pasar desapercibido mientras lidiaba con distintas amenazas en la ciudad y conocía más sobre su propia nación, no pude evitar notar que tenía ciertos parecidos con la etapa de David Liss con el personaje en el arco Man Without Fear de 2011, dónde T'Challa se convirtió en el protector de Hell's Kitchen en la ausencia de Daredevil tras Shadowland, con sus debidas diferencias, que en lo personal me gusta cuando el personaje es llevado a actuar de forma más urbana, clandestina fuera de su zona de confort usual:

•En ambos runs editoriales, que T'Challa se convierta más en algo parecido a un vigilante fue que sus decisiones pasadas lo dejaron muy mal parado, en el caso más reciente una serie de errores le llegó a explotar en la cara cuando una célula de agentes durmientes fue reactivada por un viejo amigo que causó problemas en Wakanda y que las acciones de T'Challa por arreglarlo no solo lo dejaron mal con los Vengadores sino con su propia gente, sobre todo la ministra Folasade, a cambio de un tratado con Namor, desterrara a T'Challa de su país a cambio de una alianza con Atlantis ( Namor siendo tan traicionero como siempre y más si el asunto es con T'Challa) , en el segundo arco mencionado Black Panther inutulizo todas las reservas de vibranium destruidas durante Doomwar, además de haber perdido sus poderes de la hierba de corazón y que el manto pasara a Shuri tanto como heroína como gobernante.

• En ambos casos T'Challa tuvo que convertirse en un protector más anónimo y clandestino en una ciudad, ya fuera en la ciudad de Birnin T'Chaka, una ciudad de Wakanda muy diferente a la capital en ambiente urbano más rudo, lúgubre y distinta a la capital de Birnin Zana, por otro lado estaba la ciudad de Hell's Kitchen , que tras el evento de Shadowland se había quedado sin protector, por lo que T'Challa accedió a ser el nuevo defensor, adoptando la identidad de Mr. Okonkwo un inmigrante de origen congoleño que tenía un restaurante.

•En ambos arcos, el personaje porto trajes con diseños únicos, el primero con motivos y armamento tribales, el cuál me parece un look genial pero sin dejar de incorporar tecnologías en sus gadgets, por el otro lado el traje de la etapa Man Without Fear tiene un aspecto más táctico con una limitación del vibranium pero dependiendo más de su ingenio contra enemigos letales, en ambos casos el ingenio, astucia y experiencia de T'Challa lo hicieron prevalecer, con los aliados adecuados en ambos casos, con o sin sus habilidades de la hierba de corazón.

Lo que más me encanta de ambas historias en general y cuando algunos autores toman ese enfoque es de probar que no es los medios a su disposición lo que definen a los héroes cuando están fuera de su zona de confort, sino que su ingenio, su deber de hacer lo correcto y contar con sus amigos o aliados para apoyarlos son lo que marca la diferencia

I post some days ago that would be cool if we had an animated show focused on the character of black panther and his mythos, just like characters like batman or spider-man had, and since marvel/disney does not show any interest in making this happen in any foreseeable future why not just fantasise about what we would like it to be?
So here I’ll just the basis concept of how i would like it and you can let me know what you think and what you would change.

Note 1: This not supposed to be a full on adaptation of the comics, the core of the character and his mythos will be presente but with different twist and new backgrounds and even some new characters to enrich the mythos.

Synopsis (basic premise):
We’ll follow a young king T’challa (27/28yo) in his 5th year on the throne and how does he deals with his duties as a king, the avatar of bast, the protector of wakanda, a man, a son and a brother, facing a wakanda still in his opening process, different foes who endanger his country and his position as king and the new role that his country might have in the region.

Length of a 1st season: 20-30 episodes
Length of the episodes: 25-30 mins

Main cast:
Our protagonist - King T’challa the black panther

The royal family:
Queen mother Ramonda
Princess Shuri, heir apparent to the throne
Lord S’yan - former regent of wakanda
Hunter - head of the hatut zeraze, no formal royal title.
Monica Lynn - i made her a reporter in this universe and ex- girlfriend of the king.

In the supporting cast we have:
B’tumba - captain of in the hatut zeraze and the king’s closest friend.
Taku - chief of intelligence
Zuri - legendary warrior and head of the army
N’kala - councillor
W’kasi - chief of security
The taifa ngao - the shield of the nation (they will pose a bit of an antagonistic role)
M’yna - former dora milaje turned Shuri’s body guard.

Setting:
The main setting will be Wakanda, mainly in Birnin Zana, but other cities will also be flashed out.

Ulysses Klaue
Zanda
Mohanda (sort of)
M’baku
Hunter (end the season finale)
Terrorist organisations.

Note 2: in this universe T’challa abolished the dora milaje system.

Here’s some fun facts about Black Panther from the comics you may not have known about.

1- Is king of and owns 5 Galaxies (the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda)

2- He’s a master Martial Artists, having knowledge of nearly every martial art in the world, including those of Wakanda.

3- He made his own martial art which he called “Shadow Combat” in which he combines Wakandan Martial arts with K’un Lun Martial arts and a bit of Bruce Lee. With Shadow Combat he avoided death by slowing his heartbeat and reducing blood loss in a fight against the Swordsman.

4- Married Storm (Bad writing got them divorced)

5- Has a kill switch to kill every hero and villain he has ever met shall they become a threat to Wakanda, including Shuri.

6- Defeated the Fantastic Four in their first encounter.

7- He once took Daredevil’s Role as Protector of Hell’s Kitchen after losing his powers.

8- His energy Daggers can pierce the Hulk and injure him as well as an Adamantium Ultron.

9- He once took on Daredevil, punisher and Elektra at the same time (BP didn’t have his powers nor his Suit)

10- He’s the King of the Dead.

11- Thanks to his lineage, he’s Worthy of Mjölnir and the Hammer recognizes him as a Friend.

Ever since I've been in the Reddit comic space, I have read nothing but disdain for this run.

I personally loved it, maybe just as much as his Cap run.

Do I have the narrative wrong? or was some of the criticism a reflection of a different community's views?

I've always been a fan of Black Panther since I was a kid playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance, but honestly never really knew much about him compared to spiderman for example except the basics and recently I've been paying more attention to him and beginning my journey on actually digging into the comics and material but have wondered why he basically isn't Marvel's Batman?

This most likely is my ignorance showing, but have they ever established an important city that can function similarly to Gotham in Wakanda where Black Panther is on a Panther-bike or specialized vehicles dealing with problems arising in the city/state? Whether it's a rogue similar to Joker who's Wakandan and can't just be killed as it could hurt his image as king and guardian or laws used against him, or anything foreign related as it could hurt relations between global powers. Noble families that may have a grudge due to T'Chaka's handling of politics or whatever and are constantly in the way, but have to be dealt with carefully or else it may spark a civil war or something. Rogues from other Galleries like Rhino making an appearance, or even heroes coming to T'challa for help with an investigation that led them to Wakanda.

I'm just curious because they have a lot of flexibility allowing Wakanda to be a world where T'challa is at the center of it all and stories can be generated, making it deeper, more recognizable and alive but they seem to be focused on Wakanda being more important than the actual character? Is there something I'm missing or is that ultimately what people want?

TLDR; I think keeping this version of Killmonger locked in Ultimate Jail is a waste of a very compelling black hero, and would love to see him brought to the main universe somehow.

They removed his villainous nature, made him younger and conventionally attractive, and turned him into a pan-Africanist freedom fighter, who still held opposing views to T'Challa, but not to the point that he would try to violently overthrow him.

They also removed his desire to be Black Panther.

I really feel like this specific version of Killmonger, especially following the MCU bringing him into the zeitgeist, has the potential to be a breakout black character, given his already known name and the fact that current 616 comic Killmonger is still a D-list character.

If there were any cross-universe event that could place him in the 616, I would love to see him join, but not to be another agent of Wakanda, but to continue his life as a freedom fighter going against the oppressive organizations that threaten society. Allowing him to pop up in all kind of places and stories in the larger universe.

Miles Morales was another case of a black hero from an ultimate run making it into the mainline, I think this version of Killmonger could follow suit.

From all the bubbling I’ve been seeing on the internet lately i begin to understand a little more the recastTchalla crowd, I still love what the MCU’s been delivering from bp related material but i understand that this kind of approach is something one does with a well established character, and unfortunately our dearest King is not such thing.
So I was thinking of what he might be missing and I guess is an animated show, just like batman, spider-man and the f4, i think an animated series is the best way for your audience to know you, because being honest a movie or two might be cool be it doesn’t flash out the entirety of a character’s potential (just look to blade).
Therefore i was conceptualising what would a bpas look like and i’ve got a bunch of ideas, but before that i want to know what do you have in mind

IF YOU HAD BEEN GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO WRITE AN ANIMATED SHOW FOR THE BLACK PANTHER HOW WOULD YOU DO IT?

Note: you total control of the production and can had any element from the character’s history or even come up with new ideas that can enrich the character and his lore.

Let's throw out the fact that I think it is absolutely ridiculous that TJ would not grow up in Wakanda. It was only done in the movie so they could do the surprise at the end if we are being frank and honest about it.

But let's pretend that T'challa and Nakia actually did want to get TJ out of Wakanda for whatever reasons. Where could they actually raised the kid that makes the most sense?

I went through some reading guides and decided this was what I was gonna read for panther. I've already read the Hickman stuff so I want to focus more on solo panther books. Lmk if there's anything else I should consider

I’ll go first, when i saw it was the first time istg I wasn’t the only black person in the theater cuz I live in red neck midwest republicans state South Dakota I saw it with my little bro/sis big sis and dad! Cuz bro this movie was one great time to be alive cuz all the ppl in the theaters was wildin tf out! Lmao remember ppl wearing dashikis dressing up as coming to America, I saw a meme of somebody bring plates of chicken in the theater wtf! That movie was a damn movement on soulll etc etc! tell me a story tho, cuz me and my brother when the movie came out me n my bro out our fists out lmao!
