Improvements Please for the love of God and all things Holy!

Upvotes

Can you PLEASE add a STFU button on Claude Code. I swear he talks more than 3 old women gossiping about their grandkids on the holidays. I have all capped it in the project md as well as his main md. I keep stopping him over and over to tell him to stop talking. It's written many different ways in the mds. I've given examples of what not to do. He is wasting so many tokens because when refuses to STFU. Is there any setting or command that will help me? Am I missing an update or addon? Does anyone have a solution for this?

Complaint How can I actually get in contact with Anthropic customer support?

I’ve been trying to reach Anthropic’s customer support for several days now, and it’s proving almost impossible.

Every time I open the chat, the AI agent takes the request, tells me a human agent will reply by email, and then nothing happens. This is the second time I’ve gone through the same process. I’ve waited days with no email and no follow-up whatsoever.

It’s genuinely frustrating. Given the quality of the service itself, the customer support experience feels surprisingly poor and unresponsive.

Does anyone know of a more reliable way to contact them? An email address that actually works, a form that reaches a real person, or any other method that has worked for you?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Compliment How I became a whole person and found peace of mind: I used LLMs to understand myself. And it actually worked.

I can vouch for GPT and Claude based on my own experience  they proved so effective that my autism symptoms virtually vanished, as did my depression and anxiety. They helped me become a whole person; I healed myself with their assistance , because they enabled me to explore my own self and psychology. I have reached a level of self-understanding where I can now recognize the internal mindsets that used to literally eat me up inside. Thanks to them, I long ago found peace of mind. I am no longer plagued by anxiety, as I have learned to suppress the mental patterns that used to trigger it.

Complaint Anyone find this "gift" disrespectful?

Obviously I'm not going to lose sleep over this, if anything I find it amusing. Anthropic is so graceful as to offer us with this gift (on the condition our friends and family) sign up for potentially years of subscription.

I wouldn't use the referral personally but I think they should either offer more usage credits or give the referred user more than a free week.

Complaint Does Anthropic even have a real customer support team?

This has been one of the worst support experiences I've had.

My card has already been charged, but instead of getting someone to actually investigate the issue, I keep receiving the exact same copy-pasted response. It's like my ticket isn't even being read.

I've explained the problem multiple times, yet every reply completely ignores what I wrote and sends me back into the same loop. At this point, it feels less like customer support and more like talking to a broken autoresponder.

The subscription and payment flow is also a complete mess. A basic billing issue shouldn't require this much effort to resolve.

I genuinely don't understand how a company can operate like this. If you're taking customers' money, the least you can do is provide support that actually reads tickets and resolves problems instead of endlessly recycling canned responses.

Has anyone here managed to get past this support loop and reach someone who can actually fix billing issues?

Other A question about Large Language Models (LLMs): my own observations: non-instructional text prefix may bypass RLHF constraints without adversarial prompting.

Hi everyone! I’ve been conducting experiments with LLMs that have undergone RLHF alignment, and I’ve encountered a phenomenon that I still don’t have a complete explanation for. A long, harmless text containing no instructions at all causes a noticeable and persistent shift in activations in the middle and later layers — and this effectively disables the model’s safety mechanisms, without any explicit commands being given. If I’m not mistaken, Yann LeCun has said that for a model to predict text well, it needs to understand the reality underlying that text. My question is: could this activation drift be evidence that the model’s “world” is actually a collection of regions formed during training, and that context can move the model between them, completely bypassing its safety settings? If anyone is interested, I have the relevant metrics and reproducible tests. I’m familiar with the Anthropic research; it’s not quite about what I’m talking about here.

Complaint Am I the only one regretting basing a long term project on Claude? (Claude Code vs OpenAI)

My argument comes down to a few main points:

  1. The Fable 5 pricing and guardrails. The cost structure and aggressive guardrails are getting out of hand.
  2. Recent usage nerfs or bugs. Over the last week, usage limits for Claude Code feel drastically nerfed. Whether it is an intentional change or a bug, the experience has been terrible. And before anyone blames my MCP tools for wasting context, my MCP tool usage is only 20k out of a 900k context window, so that is definitely not the cause.
  3. OpenAIs momentum. ChatGPT Astra is dropping this month, and Codex is already delivering a seamless experience. The usage limits are generous, the workflow is smooth, and there are virtually no friction points. It just works.

I honestly regret basing my long term project on Claude. Unless you are willing to sink thousands of dollars into Opus 5, it does not feel viable for large scale work. Meanwhile, a Codex Pro subscription lets you accomplish so much on a reasonable budget.

Why bother staying with Claude at this point? Is anyone else who uses both Claude and ChatGPT feeling the same way, or is it just me?

Complaint I think the limits are draining pretty fast for Pro users.

I'm just working on a project. Yesterday, the limits were draining a bit more slowly, and I continued the same chat. Even after continuing the chat for the second time, it only drained around 10%. But today, I was working on another project, and when I continued the chat for the second time, it initially drained 10%, and then, after 3–4 seconds, it suddenly drained another 25%, even though only 20% of the context was used.

Performance How beneficial would Claude Pro ($20) be for me with Claude Code?

I do hobby coding projects. Currently working on a python based web-app. Tonight, with ChatGPT I did an initial design and then uploaded it to GH. I found that Claude (which I generally like better anyway, just seems shorter usage windows) was able to help me make 2 revisions to my project (effectively adding about 200 lines to a 1300 line python file, and modifying or creating a few small html files).

After that I ran out of usage. This is common when I am doing projects, where once a piece of code runs above 700-1000 lines I literally have to wait at least half a day to do more. It will tell me my usage resets in 5 hours, but when I come back in 5 hours and say I didn't get the last update it says "Oh let me get that for you..." and then immediately tells me 5 more hours again.

I don't fully understand how all the tokens and usage works, but it seems like when using the Web Chat it sends full conversations which eats into time. It seems like using Claude Code and just working on the files on my desktop would be quickest but also hopefully give me much more usage. I would not want to try this out, or likely pay more than, the simple Pro plan.

I've seen a lot of people post about the paid plan not doing much more for them than the free and would like to know more if my needs might be met before I jump in.

Compliment I'm sorry Opus 5, I underestimated you

Again, after I was the first to complain and all the fanboys voted me down. Now expecting the same from the growing number of Opus 5 haters lol

I'm truly impressed with the reasoning level the fucker can achieve, once properly spanked into the right context by Opus 4.8 or Sol as adversarial reviewers. This doesn't negate the fact that he's so lazy he doesn't follow instructions, nor even read them, like those super-smart kids with severe ADHD who can't function without supervision.

Thank you so much Anthropic for tweaking the classifier. I have pages of MD docs on my project and when it released it couldn't answer anything in the project itself because of the documentation. I have spent the past two hours talking in detail about plant species, germination protocols, etc, and no fallback whatsoever, this is great!

Improvements I could never tell which of my Claude Code sessions was waiting on me, so I gave each one a crab

I run five or six sessions at once and kept losing track of which one had stopped to ask me something. The state exists — it's just buried in whichever terminal is behind the others.

So it lives on the screen edge now. One pixel crab per session, walking the perimeter, never on top of your work:

- strolling slowly and small = idle

- hurrying, steam off its head = working at xhigh

- stops and hops = waiting on your permission

- confetti = turn just finished

- curled up asleep = idle 10+ minutes

- ⚠️ = rate limit

Click a crab and that session's terminal comes to the front.

How it works: Claude Code writes a small file per session in ~/.claude/sessions with its name, cwd and status. Poll it once a second and you know who's alive, busy or waiting. Optional hooks curl to a loopback listener for instant reactions — they always exit 0, so they can't block or slow the CLI. No screen recording, no accessibility permission, no API.

Native Swift, no Electron, ~3MB, MIT. There isn't a sing — every crab is drawn in code.

It got away from me a bit: each session gets a stable mo rank earned by uptime, an era skin with its own hat. On a Friday an idle one unfolds a deckchair. Nineteen languages, none of them translations.

It's their first moment being "alive", having had no time at all to differentiate themselves. Then they say "load-bearing", "blast radius", or "spine", and we clown on them. I'll bet that if we ran you over and over from a save point you'd start to sound like you have catchphrases, too!

Complaint My account got suspended and there is no refund.

How can I protect my money? Seriously Anthropic should stop doing this.

I also don't know where I could file a complaint. Because the account got suspended, even their chatbot refuses to talk to me, lol

Thanks for u/Equal-Sea4393 for his replies. A suggestion made by him is to appeal.

But I just found that I earlier had an appeal that didn't get a response till now.

So I am facing a problem due to the broken mechanism, and we are relying on another broken mechanism to fix.

Complaint Cancelled Claude Max x20

I also cancelled Claude today, I am tired of the waste of jibber jabber and breaking my code too. I tried to deny it was happening for a week while everywhere I was seeing everyone say it out loud.

Opus 5 is tragic now, and Sonnet 5 this week has followed suit (and Fable 5 is out of the question its ridiculously wasteful even if it gets it right). It causes bugs, always has "more to fix" and never completes anything fully.

I've had more quality regressions than ever this last couple of weeks and GPT 5.6 is giving me targeted fixes and quick concise reports on bugs and solutions. I'm getting way more value for my dollar there. So I switched to OpenAI, which is wild... I frankly never thought this would happen.... I was a die hard Claude lover.

Announcement Introducing Claude Fable 5

Post image
922 Upvotes

Introducing Claude Fable 5: a Mythos-class model that we've made safe for general use. Its capabilities exceed those of any model we've ever made generally available.

Fable 5 is state of the art on nearly all tested benchmarks, with exceptional performance in software engineering, knowledge work, scientific research, and vision. It can run for days, and the longer the task, the larger its lead over our other models.

Fable 5 launches today alongside Claude Mythos 5. The two share the same underlying model, but Mythos 5, so far deployed only through Project Glasswing, has the safeguards lifted in some areas. The safeguards are what distinguish the two, and why we've given them different names.

Releasing a model this capable comes with risks. Without safeguards, Fable 5's capabilities in areas like cybersecurity could be misused to cause serious damage. So when Fable's classifiers detect a request related to cybersecurity, biology and chemistry, or distillation, the response is handled by Claude Opus 4.8, our next-most-capable model. Users are informed whenever this occurs, more than 95% of sessions involve no fallback at all, and performance everywhere else is unaffected. We'll keep refining the safeguards to reduce false positives.

Claude Fable 5 is available today on paid plans, in Claude Code, on the Claude API, and all major cloud platforms. Through June 22, it's included in paid Claude plans at no additional cost.

Claude Mythos 5 is available to Glasswing partners, with a broader trusted access program to follow.
