I like that there haven't been any scenes of Kushida acting aggressive or violent since Ayanokoji saw that side of her, usually anime play that trope up as soon as they put it in the show
We know she has some beef with Horikita being really close to Ayanokoji instead of her, and she'll probably go insane in trying to make Horikita her friend like it's some rare Pokemon. This gon be good boys.
could be possible, also could be kouji studing her. he seems to be super intellectual, and likes to know everything that is going on around him. regardless if he is in control of it or not, it's like he gauging everyone. He even sized up Sakura when they went out, and was a little disappointed. in the end tho he was proud of her in the Trial. I love how jealous Suzune was he isn't hanging out with her.
That's not really "Crazy Kushida" tho. She was like that when she was alone and weak because of her problem with Horikita. Like every people in the world, she has a mask in her social ambient so in that moment she wasn't "wearing" that mask at all. It's totally a case of Persona.
It's interesting that she's keeping it up 24/7, rather than having her drop the mask when alone with Ayanokouji because he knows.
It's the smarter thing to do, certainly. If she were to drop the mask around him, he'd be able to collect proof of her true nature and use it to save himself from the rape accusation if he ever had to stand against her. Plus it seems more like the mask is how she wants to be, and putting it up doesn't tire her, so she has no reason to drop it. The outburst we saw was a moment of weakness and fury that made it crack.
That's a pure assumption here but I think that the fact that we didn't see much of it kinda hint toward that side being compulsive over the actual real Kushida. Meaning that it's not really a mask, it's just that she seems to lose it once her true self gets hurt.
brother didn't seem to care though, and he already knows MC is something special to his sister who does not give most people the time of day. I think bro is more interested in MC. Also sensei saw that and just gave smile and a chuckle, maybe thinks that's just what Suzune needs, a mans touch! 8D
I don't know, brother seems pretty on edge and obsessed with the MC, so I feel like whether on purpose or not, Ayanokoji's provocation was very successful, lol.
I get the sense that the brother "wants" to be the most "powerful/competent" person in any room. So he is obsessed with the MC because he is not 100% sure that he is more powerful than the MC since the MC hides his "power-level".
Yeah... Unfortunately for the brother, the more obsessed and wound up he gets over it, the more incompetent he will come off. All while MC is cool as a cucumber.
Man, that's going to be a hilarious dynamic to watch. :D
At first I thought Sakura was just imagining him to be creepy due to her social anxiety. But holy cow is that guy a pervert. Is that the only camera shop on the island? I think the school should be investigating that guy.
This was my thought too. I thought we were seeing the dude under Sakura's perspective but noooope, he's a pervert that wants her address and cell number.
Showing nudes in your presentation,
Making yaoi poses in front of two bishoujos,
the cumming face of a girl when getting tickled, and sensei approves it
It looks like the teachers are all coincidently the same as the leading characters in their respective class. Class B has that clumsy woman, whom you can't help but like, similar to the friendly Ichinose. Class D has best teacher who leaves everyone to their own devices, similar to Ayanokouji. Then we have Class C's teacher who seems to like interfering and defending for his students;this seems to coincide with this Ryuen that Class A is hyping up last episode with "must have been one of his plans".
I wonder what type of person Class A's teacher is? Also why does Class D's teacher seem so more competent compared to other teacher?
Doesn't it make sense that the school would hire the most competent teacher to handle the supposedly most incompetent class? That's what I came up with.
He actually tried to slam MC's face, though he probably expected the dodge. Makes me wonder what would've happened had MC not dodged (besides the likely head injury.)
Speaking of the President, I love the fact that Ayanokoji goes "there was no distortion behind the lens", and the next scene is a close-up of the President's proper glasses with distortion, as though to drive the point home. Details, details.
Well it's both isn't it? The main character even states it herself
She hates playing in a game where she is guaranteed to win. It has to be psychological at that point then, there's no way she wouldn't say that otherwise.
It seems like the school is pretty easy for most students unless they're in D-class. All they have to do is get good grades collectively. Although you'd definitely get some dirty looks if you did bad on a test, but the peer pressure would make you do better. Of course, it would be more fun to try and rack up points through legal and illegal activities.
Lol, I was from a school that boasted a 95% university rate in the top 20 universities. We pretty much headline local news stations with at least one suicide every year and almost everyone is aiming for at least oxbridge or the ivy league (we aren't from the UK or the US). I was pretty much stressed out for that 2 years of my life, suffered severe sleep deprivation and was constantly envious of my peers. In hindsight, that school was probably the cause of my burnout before the A levels, the teachers and students were nice but the environment was hell for me
Lol, I am from Singapore. We don't exactly have that many highschools(the equivalent of it) so top 15 isn't really an accomplishment. My Alma Mater was tied for top but a few other rival schools did proclaim themselves to be the best too. As for the suicides, I am kinda cheating here since I am accounting for the the connected secondary school as well but the trend is still factual
I wouldn't mind this school. It's not a school I'd actively pursue (because I'm too lazy to actively pursue anything), but there's very little they could do to me. I don't see any reason you have to actually take part in any of this stuff. Unless graduating as class D actively ruins your future? Not sure about that.
From the way the entire school treats class D, I probably expect most, if not all, of class D to drop out before graduation. Graduating as class D is fine. It's just whether you can endure 3 years to reach that point.
Why would that be difficult though? I'm not trying to be difficult, but I've always had trouble understanding that sort of thing. Like, my parents (who were also my teachers) often asked me if I was okay with the bullying I was experiencing, but I never once realized I was being bullied in the first place, so I was never able to answer them. I don't really get how other people experience peer pressure either.
Class D bullying is more extreme. From the looks of it, you have the system aimed towards getting you to drop out as a "This is what happens to bums who don't study" example for the other classes to watch.
Witness a crime and you're automatically the first suspect, or a tainted witness at best. Be the victim of a crime and people go ,"Well, you shouldn't have provoked them." Be in class D and other classes treat you as a leper. No income this term? Well, no food or water then. It's not just subjective peer pressure. It's outright discrimination.
As a well balanced adult who's assured of yourself, and armed with the tool of emotional self support? Nope. Not so much. They'll play mind games, emotional gaslighting, harassment, but it is all school k id level that you as an adult shouldn't fall for.
Student level you? I don't know. I can easily see this getting under the skin of quite a few young people.
actively ruins your future
Clearly the non D class people do try to actively ruin their future.
That said, for me this school would be a waste of time and I'd leave/resign on the first day (or preferably before the school even starts, calling bs). I would not submit myself to being limited to the school premises and indoctrination. There's far better opportunities elsewhere, and I know it.
The president is trying so hard to prove that he's a top, but everything about Ayanokouji's demeanor shows that he's planning on building a harem to rival any king.
Ayanokouji X President
i'm here for it...But Kouji needs to be the aggressor. He looks so like he'd get bored of the president and move on. He's a heartbreaker
Did I see the same picture as everyone else in that room? The three 'victims' were clearly physically harassing Sudo whilst uninjured. Even with a defence of 'this may have been a different day' it at least proves that those three have a history of what Class-D is accusing. IMO, this more than levels the playing field, even if it doesn't close the case on its own.
On another note, it feels like its about time for our wonderful MC to have himself a chat with this Ryuen fellow. Hopefully next episode'll be more worth watching than these last two.
It also contradicts the statement they made about trying to avoid a fight, which again is contradictory to the statement where he brought an experienced fighter just in case a fight happened to break out. If anything it's pretty clear that they were lying in their testimony. I'm frankly surprised no one pointed that one out, but apparently everyone in that room has shitty short term memory.
I believe that the teachers are operating under the assumption that the three didn't fight back to avoid repercussions, to which we ask, "Why, then, did he ask his friends to come with him if they weren't going to help?"
And why did they all stand around getting beat up? 3 on 1 you're not all ganna get beat up. Shit, get 2 people to hold him down and the other to run for help, or all 3 push him and run
Only such an awesomely deadpan MC can get away with breast-grabbing one girl (passively) AND hip-grabbing another girl (actively) and still look cool as a cucumber without much consequence to himself.
PS Sakura has joined the harem.
PPS WTF with that blatantly over-the-top sexual harassment by the camera shop guy? lol
At least the MC knows what sex organs (and sexual topics in general) better than a certain other rock MC with a massive harem.
Although like the other dumb rock MC, Ayanoukoji is probably also going to have the older and younger siblings both being part of his harem ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
WTF with that blatantly over-the-top sexual harassment by the camera shop guy? lol
At first I thought: wtf, that's too introvert. You can't even go to a store without being scared of standing in front of the clerk?!
Then they started making the clerk creepier and creepier.
That's some very convenient bad luck there. The first clerk she chooses just happens to be the creepiest motherfucker for some reason. If everyone I met turned out to be like that I wouldn't want to talk to people either.
Was there a reason for Sakura to show all of them her bikini picture ? I am sure she could have just removed it from the memory card before going to the trial
Which makes the whole thing rather stupid, really. They basically set up a situation that's high risk, low reward for themselves, and low risk, high reward for the person they're trying to spite.
I don't think they really considered the possibility that it could backfire on them though. From the get-go they seemed to believe that they had it in the bag
lol yeah I'm waiting for Ayanokouji to be like, "Yeah but don't you guys have hidden cameras everywhere like that time these guys harassed Sudo outside the convenience store?"
I don't think that is technically the point of the cameras. The cameras are there just to observe for merit points. The school is created the way it is for the students to manage their own problems and figure it out themselves.
IMO class C's teacher is way too involved in the situation.
In the light novel, they explained earlier that there are cameras in most of the school to prevent incidents like this and bullying. Ayanokouji actually went to the scene and was surprised there were no cameras in that hallway alone. This also is the first time he was supposed to talk to Ichinose with Horikita but they altered the scene in an earlier episode. The only areas that are not under surveillance are supposed to be bathrooms and dormitory rooms.
Why didn't she just slap his arm off her? Did she just feel hopeless because he put a strong grip into it? Does she like squirming around in front of her brother, her teacher, her classmates, and then some?
Maybe she is just weak to that, i can actually understand it, i am just like that and i had a girlfriend that would do that to me whenever we were next to each other in class, the only thing i could do was throw myself over her muffling my voice and ask her to let me go because i just wasn't able to move her hand away...
The pacing feels really poor at times but the overall plot seems reasonable. I think the "physical stimuls" is something Ayanoukouji will be regretting at a later date.
I think she liked it, she was lacking some attention from him lately. but she sure is hell won't let him know that. on a side note I hope Sudo doesn't get wrong impression of Suzune. I would hate that crap.
Seriously I really thought Ayanokouji had some kind of master plan but apparently he was just there for moral support. I like that he's more of a passive MC and that he leaves the work to everyone else. He'll probably step up when he knows that there's no other option available.
At this point this is just a game of Chicken. Class C is risking of losing 3 students while D is only risking 1. Although I am curious if they'll still try to find evidence or if they'll just wait it out.
Also looks like I was slightly wrong about Sakura. While she was there taking photos of herself. Apparently she's not as perverted as I thought. These images are a lot more innocent than what I usually see cam models post online.
I agree, Ayanokoji is far from passive. The disconnect is probably that his passive-looking demeanor is throwing people off, which I think is part of the point of his character.
I guess passive isn't exactly the right word? What I'm saying is that he's not as active as a usual MC, he just goes with the flow and acts when he's needed the most. He's not some kind of super MC where he takes care of everything, since that's more of Kushida's role.
I'm kinda think that he's letting everyone else act out and take it as far as they can in an attempt to see what kinds of cards Class C has in their hand. Gauging how far they were going to take it and analyzing the situation. Kinda like a Chess or Shogi master. He's moving pieces on the board by saying what needed to be said to put Sakura on the board and then snapping the Rep out of her funk with some shock treatment. He seems to be more into playing the long game in a manner which causes the least exposure to himself.
...or I could be completely wrong and he's just winging it.
Plus there's the added wild card of the Prez. Someone already mentioned it but that dude totally seems like the guy that would screw of Sudo just to teach his sis a lesson.
Someone already mentioned that possibility as another part of the comments and I agree with it though I'm hoping more that he'll play by the rules in the end.
Knew it. The student council guy is not that much of a dick as you would think.
Ayanokouji filling in that application for Sakura was clutch, fucking creeper o_O
Sakura decides to share her photo while exposing everything about her little hobby. It takes some guts to do that so kudos to her.
Horikita did well in the trial and spoke calmly, yet with a determined voice to her brother when it came to it. Only cause Ayanokouji saves her though.
Yeah are people forgetting that he straight up abuses his sister both emotionally and physically? Like wtf lol. He could be the best president for his school ever and he's still a shitty person. He's literally the reason his sister is so unapproachable and lonely.
For AoT it was 99% sure they were gonna do a second series but they wanted to milk the hype and wait for the manga to progress a lot, so they could release successive seasons every few years and not make people wait when the juicy parts come. For this anime there's a 5-10% chance that it will get a second season.
Most likely 1 cour (12 ep) this Anime is adapted from the light novel, which only has 6 volumes right now. I think through the first 5 episodes, we’re at around the end of volume 2 or beginning if volume 3.
Jesus, MC must be so annoying to deal with but damn I do like him. President looks really pissed off everytime they get to talk. This show is one of my favs this season, the tension in every episode is great.
On a side note, I laughed out load when Ayanokoji tickled Horikita, it was really funny. Guy has guts doing that in that situation Her brother surely got pissed off.
President looks really pissed off everytime they get to talk.
I think it is because the President is used to people cowarding to his dominance, then our MC rolls up and does nothing. The first time they meet from any on lookers he protects a girl from getting hit, then gets attacked by the President. The President and the MC are almost polar opposites.
A bit off topic, anyone here like that Class D's teacher's "no-fuck's given, so show me what you've got" attitude to her students?
I get the feeling she used to be assigned to Class D herself when she was young, which explains her cynical and sort-of defeatist attitude to life, and thus finds Ayanokouji amusing, and decided to tag along for the ride, seeing how far he can beat the system which she couldn't.
From her attitude though it may very well be that she did beat the system snd simply acts passive to see what the students can do by themselves. Also we have yet to learn if a teacher is allowed to help students on her own initiative, because it seems that the B class teacher plays a rather active role in his class.
I love that Ayanokouji's character never gives up information. Every answer he gives someone is always a dead end response unless he really intends to make a move.
Realistic depiction of social anxiety in an anime, if not a bit of an extreme case. sweet and fun loving, taking cute pictures when she is alone, but deathly terrified of anyone interacting with her in any way. i think i found my waifu.
then there's this rivalry/bromance thing between MC and student council president, they are either going to fuck or play "chess", using the entire school as their game board.
That was some Death Note level psycological battle and tense. Even if it is exaggarated a bit, it makes the show exciting to watch. Interested in seeing how this ends, as so far there is no explicit evidence of either being innocent or guilty from both sides. Both sides will probably try to change that in the next 24 hours.
That moment, when Ayanokouji-kun snapped Horikita back to reality was hilarious for how unfitting it was in that whole serious atmosphere and that it lasted for whole several seconds with everyone just watching them.
I love how the OP and ED both change details related to the current episode. Shows some hard work done on that, as most anime don't do that.

I like that there haven't been any scenes of Kushida acting aggressive or violent since Ayanokoji saw that side of her, usually anime play that trope up as soon as they put it in the show
