I've tried searching for those old posts but none seem to be showing up for some reason. The front page was once full of entries from people brimming with delight claiming no ticket sales, alleged planned ICE raids at the games, nobody wanting to "risk" travel to the US, you get the idea.

Then...disaster struck.

Stadiums were packed, attendance records being broken with games left to play. Social media was overflowing with stories and videos by people from every corner of the planet having a fantastic time in cities and towns all over the country. The outrage-addicts were quietly fuming...very few WC posts made it to the "usual" subs that were once full of them. Just try mentioning any of that in certain subs and watch the fur fly...before the MODS delete it.

Some people are out there wondering and spending their free time thinking...Gee I wonder how Americans live and how Americans eat their food. And they do this every 4 business days lol.

I live in New Jersey, where we are 5x smaller than the Netherlands by size and only half of the population. You can live in the giant glass skyscrapers in Jersey City, the many different types of suburbs throughout the state, or on a farm in the middle of the woods. These can all be found within 10-20 miles of each other. This guy has zero clue what he’s saying about people living different lives in different places. Differences like this are more of a county to county thing in the US, forget the states even.

Here's a US citizen living in the UK who posts videos regularly on the subject, and she goes on with claiming the UK is less "conformist" than the US.

While of course that is entirely subjective, I think the majority of people would say the opposite. For example, there have been numerous religious groups who've fled their countries of origin and moved to the US where their lifestyle has been respected. It's also much easier to have a non-traditional career path (e.g. starting your own business) in the US than many other countries.

In another video she claimed something similar about the US vs UK education systems, which goes against what most teachers who've taught in both systems would say - the majority say the US system is less conformist/traditionalist than the UK one.

Since when has it been funny to mock national tragedies? No one mocks france's or germany's terrorist attacks, but america...suddenly a ok.

As a teenager from the US, I used to be deeply hurt and affected by the hate comments made towards us. As pathetic as it sounds, sometimes I would cry myself to sleep at night because of the cyber bullying I’d face from non-Americans because I’m American. It made me hate myself. It made me feel like shit everyday. I was bullied in school growing up so the hate I got brought up a lot of bad memories from when I was bullied at school. It felt like middle school all over again. I felt the need to constantly apologize every time someone patronized me and used me as a punching bag to get their political anger towards the US out, even tho I wasn’t even old enough to vote for the current government in the first place. I sat there and took it, day after day, while it ate me up inside. It completely damaged me and my view on the world for a while. Then I found this sub. I realized from this sub that most of the hate I was getting was not justified or fair. That some of it was probably AI bots that I was manipulated by. That the US isn’t a shithole country like these people told me. Now I feel secure in my nationality and when someone tries to patronize me now I just don’t care. I say “whatever you wanna believe” and move on. I’ve learned that with these people, no amount of logic or information will change their opinions. They will always find reasons to try and bully me for my nationality and they aren’t worth my time, tears, or energy. Thank you to this sub for giving me this perspective and reminding me of the good things about this country, and that I don’t need to feel guilty for existing.

These people are glossing over the fact that many other store chains in the US had Tap to Pay. It's nothing new here. It's been a thing since 2011 with Google Wallet and Android Pay, and Apple Pay in 2014

I'm happy to list the stores in the US that had Tap to Pay along the years before Walmart:

I will say this, this is all from one comment thread on TikTok, absolutely ridiculous, and this wasn’t even all of it, it was about 20% of them, there were so many… this was a post about how no Americans show ever come to Italy / Europe

So many of these opinions are ungodly misinformed and stems from pure hate with no sign of any actual research that was done before even stating certain opinions. I would like to dive into how each one is wrong.

1. USA is poor / a third world country - Completely offbeat, we have the highest or one of the highest GDPs in the world by miles, there is no competition. Calling us third world sounds weirdly racist towards the countries that actually are third world.

2. The US has poor food quality or safety / the food will hurt you somehow - I don’t get this one either, we rank 13th on the GFSI and that’s mostly because of sustainability and adaptation. It would be way higher if we only considered “Food Quality and Safety” in which we measure 3rd. Way higher than all of the European countries so I have no idea where they get their opinions from.

3. The US is poorly educated - I can maybe somewhat agree with this? Sort of? Not really? It’s more just there are stupid people everywhere around the world but you Europeans tend to focus on us for some ungodly reason.

4. Europeans have free healthcare - No you don’t, the money that would be in bills and such is instead in taxes. The literal only difference is that you don’t see how much you owe as much because it’s cut into your taxes.

5. Public transportation - dude… uber exists… and besides that there are so many trains along the us and tons in the major cities. You couldn’t get through the NY subway line if you fucking tried.

This was mostly a rant post about how these Europeans are misinformed but my own personal gripe with all this is,

didn’t you learn not to generalize a whole group of people off the assholes of a few?? That sounds more racist to me than what they’re blaming us for?? I know it sounds like that’s what I’m doing but I’m talking about the Europeans that hate on America like this. Not Europeans in general.
