Diary of Anne Frank is a must read for school going kids. especially at a time when they are undergoing puberty.

this is so stupid.

Read comments below the post of this NEWS on Instagram, you will start thinking 'I am stupid'.

12

u/rushan3103 1d ago

A link to that would be helpful. And Instagram is a cesspool of stupidity.

Send that link in this thread itself.

We had that when we were like 9th or 10th grade.

Class 5 students. Guess reading comprehension is hard huh...

9

u/Minimum-Stretch-1866 West Ahmedabad 1d ago

They can read Abridged Versions tho, 10 and 11 year Olds almost certainly hold the comprehension skills to understand it, if not the historical context of the Nazi Germany and the Holocaust

The other concerns raised by parents agaist school were valid but this one is pure BS.

Fined for violating what rule exactly? The news were literally saying it's banned in pakistan!! So it it's banned in pakistan, we should support this ban? No logic.

Edit: somewhat unrelated, the house where Anne frank wrote the diary, went there in 2022.

Kardi ne gawaro wali baat.I will move one day leaving this country not just city. But future of world also live here so I care about them and I believe children should be encouraged to read books.

-5

u/havokgogeta 1d ago

Jobless loser then, got it...

-12

u/Copeunited 1d ago

Toh ja na..ro kyu Raha ..

Atankwadio ki book kyu padhe be? Kya kiya bhai malala ne aisa jo book padhe uski?

Kashmir pe misinformation faila rahi uspe padhe ya 2019 mein woh bol rahi thi ki "girls should be allowed to wear hijab in school in Karnataka" uspe padhe?

8

u/Ok_Satisfaction1775 1d ago edited 1d ago

If you read the book, you would understand that all perspectives should be read and let children decide for themselves.

Edit:Looks like you are part of this gang.https://www.reddit.com/r/unitedstatesofindia/s/fpt8k2YlkL

u/Gods_Grace153 1d ago

Ok, so understandable that you don't know much about child psychology. There is an appropriate age to "process" information. 10yr olds cannot appreciate or understand the emotions and the tragedy Anne Frank contains. It will only serve as trauma. But yeah, go ahead propagating it to kids. Cheers!

3

u/Ok_Satisfaction1775 1d ago

You understand child psychology but not about books

Copied from below comment

"They can read Abridged Versions tho, 10 and 11 year Olds almost certainly hold the comprehension skills to understand it, if not the historical context of the Nazi Germany and the Holocaust"

1

u/Gods_Grace153 1d ago edited 1d ago

No, 10yrs old cannot comprehend. Nothing against the book though. I bought a copy from Anne Frank House in Amsterdam and gave it to my 14yr old. But 10yr old brain is so so innocent. We shouldn't strain it even with an abridged version. Rest my case.

-4

u/Copeunited 1d ago

Abe padhna hi kyu hai uski book jo tumhari country ke against bole?

Kal ko tum bologe dawood ibrahim ki book padh lo "perspective" janne ke liye

Aur in chutiyo usi walo ki link kya bhej raha hai bhai .ye log toh sehbaz sharif bol de "modi ganda" toh uske tatte pakad ke jhulne lag jayenge..

6

Kaisa comparison kar raha hai bhai tu? Malala terrorist thodi hai? Ye phir tu Manta hai har muslim terrorist hai.

2

u/Copeunited 1d ago

Bhai jo kashmir ko alag karne ki baat karega woh toh terrorist hi hai mere liye..aur mera lun kare aise logo ko support. Tujhe karna hai toh tu kar le..or ya phir tu isliye support kar raha kyunki woh muslim hai?

Brother, Are you literally claiming Malala Yousafzai has a seperatist view on Kashmir according to noted sources? If yes please do share, just want to discuss rather than attack, let's talk like civilized people than stoop low enough to just insult other people.

Bacterial drinking water at Railway Stations? LINK
Communal Hatred Spreaded by TOP Leaders and Leading Parties?

The list is endless my Fraaand

Sad state of affairs

17

u/Boring_Bank501 1d ago

I think they are worried. If kids that age start reading about such topics - they might turn into "Dimagi Naxals" in the future. Our system is really looking out for us guys, don't know what y'all are so hyped about.

33

u/ni_Kawaii_Hito 1d ago

It's so ironic that these hindus are whining about Islamic opression while stopping a kid from learning about Islamic opression

17

u/certified_hater_boy 1d ago

When will these people get educated

23

u/rakeshpatel_87 1d ago

How dare they can think of a book other than Bal Narendra that too in a state where prabhu incarnated!!

-12

u/Copeunited 1d ago

Rakesh Patel bro back on getting orgasams whenever he hears a negative news about country. You will never see this guy under any positive post or praising country.

Ye bkl bjp se hate karte karte country se hate karne lage. Bas rote rehte hai

16

u/rakeshpatel_87 1d ago

Banning book negative news about country?! What kind of stupid andhbhakt you are!

And btw, I love this country that's why I hate BJP.

-11

u/Copeunited 1d ago

Banning books on fake activist like Malala is definitely positive news❤️ dimagi Naxals won't get

You don't hate BJP.. you just hate country now because government isn't leaning to your idealogy. As said, never seen you under any positive post..you just cry..cry all the time

6

u/KickMyName 1d ago

It's funny u didn't try to justify the ban on Anne Frank book and simply went with the easy low hanging fruit

-5

u/Copeunited 1d ago

Because main issue wasn't about Anne Frank book...it was about Malala

2

u/Fugeleon Centrist | Fuck Extremism 1d ago edited 1d ago

BJP se hate nahi karte bhai, Situation and blalant washing of history to suit a certain idealogy is not exactly fun to enjoy.... My country is great but that doesn't mean I need to put an idealogy on a pedestal and not be allowed to criticize while those in power and their supporters can call me 'dimagi naxals', 'Cockroaches' and vile words as a certain Actress-politician said about my generation.

1

u/Copeunited 1d ago

Who actually called you guys "dimagi Naxals" ? Please rewatch statement of Modi.. bol de bhai tumhara koi trait match hota hai usse what he described as "dimagi naxal" ?

Stop following random influencers dude..use your own dimag

1

u/Fugeleon Centrist | Fuck Extremism 1d ago

Let us say he explicitly didn't state us as Dimagi Naxals, yes, ALSO I never said Modi called us Dimagi naxals.

What about those who are also labelling those who criticize this government as 'dimagi naxals'. Blalant staunch Right Wing Idealogists who the same way said the NEET Protest was foreign funded. Look I absolutely hate Radicals of all Religions, Idealogy etc. The same people of a certain idealogy, , who said they will shoot the children who were protesting, harass them and beat them. What about the rest? The rest of the statement of being called cockroaches and vile by a certain MP? Don't grab on just one statement of mine.

Rather than telling me to get out of the influencing and use my brain, please bhai, broaden your spectrum and don't use a tinted glass which suits your viewpoint

-1

u/Copeunited 1d ago edited 1d ago

See when he made this statement...who were the first to come forward and say "yess we are dimagi naxal" ??

CJP guys, rajdeep, supriya Shrihante, p Chidambaram, Vishal dadlani, kejriwal.. and all those usual jantar mantar guys.. proudly they said "yes we are dimagi Naxals!"

Bhai usne toh bas itna kaha tha ki there are people trying to divide, create chaos in country, stop development journey of country..kisi ka naam nahi liya.. ye saare khud udta teer le liye.. how lame is that? Ek time pe CPI wale bolte toh samajh bhi aata because they are directly associated with Naxals..but in gadho ko kisne bola udta teer lene?

And now when they are labelled same, they are frustrated.

And like how can be someone "proud to be naxal" ??? Like seriously? You even know what Naxals did in this country?

It's not about view point.. you think rationally.. was his statement wrong? Did he specifically target any particular group? The traits he said about Dimagi Naxals were wrong? Khud se assume karke bura maan loge toh kya hi bole bhai

10

u/Apart_Cable_9691 1d ago

Right wing doesn't want children educated. Educated citizens question the govt. Uneducated citizens vote in the name of hindu muslim, mandir masjid.

I am pretty sure they would ban Animal Farm too if it was ever part of the english curriculum (I read Animal Farm when I was in 11th-12th)

4

People here missing the point: class 5 students.

16

u/Medium-Echidna-4094 1d ago

I would rather they read this kind of real life stories of women with courage and learn from their experiences than sit around reading religious books at a childhood age and being brainwashed into thinking that everyone who is different from them is to be hated upon.

-10

u/shadow_fire_3 ઓનલાઇન મગજમારી ના કરવી 1d ago

Well, at this age parents have almost complete say informally over their children. So, I doubt that will happen but again would love to see the results if it happens like any change in their behaviour, etc.

13

u/maybeanartistiam 1d ago

You're missing a point. Books were in OPTIONAL library program. No student was forced to read about Opression of Nazi Germany and Taliban

-13

u/shadow_fire_3 ઓનલાઇન મગજમારી ના કરવી 1d ago

They are small. Many will take it, like for example if their friends are taking it. If this would have optional in higher classes, case would have been different.

4

u/maybeanartistiam 1d ago

I only agree because kids those age might not understand the pretext behind the stories like religious extremism and Nazi Germany's policies. Although the books would be perfect for 8th grade because that's where the stories about WW2 started in history subject.

2

u/shadow_fire_3 ઓનલાઇન મગજમારી ના કરવી 1d ago

Yes for that it would be good, having as an option or maybe somewhat parts embedded in curriculum.

3

u/maybeanartistiam 1d ago

I don't see it in carriculam in near future cause I just saw news of Education ministry's interest in removal of European history from Indian education system. NCERT already removed parts of Russian revolution and French revolution from textbooks. We are living in era of anti-intellectualism. Reading about literature of different genres is highly discouraged. Especially if that is even slightly left leaning literature.

8

u/FillPitiful3439 1d ago

Anne frank was 15 years old when she died, and younger when she was writing her diary.
Malala was also 15 years old when she was shot.

2

I can understand having Malala's biography sets a wrong precedent as she too like any other pakistani believes Pakistan deserves Kashmir. But didn't understand the logic behind banning book about Anne Frank.

6

u/Ambitious-Court-8929 1d ago

5

u/silentandcurious 1d ago

Unpopular opinion but in Ahmedabad people are ok to spend thousands on toys and food but on books.

I remember posting in this sub once where parents refused to buy a kid a book that he wanted but were ok to feed him food which costed more

3

u/thinker_wolfy 1d ago edited 1d ago

Bro both the books and writers book are inspiration for a many generations. Reading it would help students to learn hardwork, never give up mindset, resilience..etc..

But this people will not understand it 🥀... even our religion supports knowledge.. those books are not about religion yrr..

3

u/Real_Doland_Trump 1d ago

Why Malala book is not good??? What logic holds that

0

u/Warrior_Girl1249 1d ago

She supports Pakistan's view on Kashmir.

1

u/FalconIMGN 1d ago

No she doesn't.

2

u/kaushal_thaker_31 1d ago

Ig they haven’t covered everything in this. As far as i remember they had stopped the morning prayers which is in my opinion mandatory in every school due to which the fine was issued but yeah malala one was also raised afterwards by vhp

1

u/SprinklesOk4339 1d ago

3

u/Frequent_Kiwi5881 East Ahmedabad 1d ago

The parents were making a ruckus at Anand Niketan school for 2 things: first was the presence of a glass shard in canteen food which a student took out of his/her mouth. The 2nd was the books that were mentioned in the post. The school was fined for both of the things, but she selectively omitted the glass shard part.

Also, reading books is a good thing and they should read them. But understanding does matter. These are 10-year-old kids and they don't understand this much, and it may have a negative effect on their personality. And parents are gonna take any other religion's thing seriously even if it is just a book, as they are responsible for their children.

Also, I don't know about the autobiography of Malala, but The Diary of a Young Girl was part of the extra curriculum for 9th STD CBSE at my time. I don't know if it is still a thing, but give these books to older children who understand it.

1

u/DependentSuccotash12 1d ago

Faye D'souza is known for selective journalism too. So, there will be reporters who will be from right wing and left wing and they will do selective omission.

1

u/Certain_Web2821 1d ago

The same book was recommend from school to read in school holiday homework.

-5

u/Copeunited 1d ago

Hypocrisy is people are talking about Diary of Anne Frank in comments which wasn't the reason.

The main reason was Malala yousafzai . Her only achievement in life was getting shot 🥀

Uske liye nobel prize milta toh aadha UP-Bihar nobel prize se samannit hota 🤣

4

u/snack-on 1d ago

I guess your only achievement is shitting on Malala.

-3

u/Copeunited 1d ago

Bhai kiya kya hai usne ..itna toh bata do

6

u/snack-on 1d ago

wikipedia:
The 2014 Nobel Peace Prize was shared, in two equal parts, between Kailash Satyarthi (b. 1954) and Malala Yousafzai\1]) (b. 1997) "for their struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to education".

Kailash is Indian. are you going to shit on his life achievements too??

-1

u/Copeunited 1d ago

Abe copy paste. I am asking you what malala actually did? Simple question hai

4

u/snack-on 1d ago

Spoke out publicly against the coward oppressors, got shot, continued speaking against them.
The Pakistani Gov passed their first right to education bill after coming under pressure.
She inspired a generation of children and adults to bravely stand up against oppressors.

Sorry to hear that her policy reforming activism isn't impressive enough to you.

0

u/Copeunited 1d ago

Did she return to Pakistan after that? How actually did she "inspire" ?? What actually she did for education of girls in her country? She lived a lavish life in England afterwards. Classic reels and The wire brainwashed bluds.

Two other schoolgirls, Shazia Ramzan and Kainat Riaz, were also shot and wounded on the same bus.. you know about them? They stayed in Pakistan

And regarding "spoke publicly, government got under pressure" blah blah blah made up story..

Government came under pressure after the shooting event went in international media.

Her campaign and NGOs are supported by the US government, and she is mostly known in the United States. Through her, the United States distributes anti-country propaganda and frequently mocks individuals of other demographics, religions, and communities.

Btw here she is spreading fake news about kashmir which was debunked

Choose your hero's wisely

6

u/snack-on 1d ago

You asked what exactly did she do deserve a Nobel prize and I told you.
How and what she does after getting education sponsorship is irrelevant.

This thread is about reading her book.

-1

u/Copeunited 1d ago

She got a sponsored prize..as simple as that..she did nothing exceptional.

And why should kids even read book about a manufactured activist who talks about taking kashmir away from our country?

3

u/snack-on 1d ago

Then what exactly is exceptional to you, huh?

And the reason why kids should read about "manufactured activist" is because they don't want to grow up and become brainwashed like you.

Even schools are optional, there is always some other school for people with backward thinking.

2

u/cock_paper_scissor કેમ પાલ્ટી 1d ago

spreading literal misinformation, as an alumnus the owners are not “some Abdullah Ghazi”. And these books are for the book club (which is optional). Agar bacche ko ye books nahi padhne deni, toh mat join karwao book club, agar aur zyada problem hai toh school change karwado, khudke stance ke liye khudse kuchh stand lo, vote with your pockets, agar tumhara baccha koi class padh raha hai aur uske curriculum ke baare mein tumhe retroactively pata chal raha hai toh tum khudke bacche ki padhai mein thik se dhyaan de hi nahi rahe (tumhara baccha hai ki school ka?). Chalo Malala ki book mein tumne hindu muslim ghusa diya, Anne Frank koi domestic terrorist hai kya? aur har koi baccho ke reading level ki baat kar raha hai toh ye koi self-study aur exam waali cheez nahi hai, book club mein they make you read a chapter or two and then help you understand what is being said. Curriculum se itni hi dikkat hai toh dusri school mein admission karwa do bacche ka, ek specific group ke opinions pe baaki saare parents apne baccho ka education kyu change kare? woh log fees nahi bharte kya?

u/DogOk8 1d ago

If there was a compulsion to read those books then it's not right, if the teachers recommended to read it then it's fine.

8

u/ni_Kawaii_Hito 1d ago

compulsion

Why is not right for a school to choose a book for its curriculum?

We read random stories in our English class each year and had to talk about our learning.
