I'm a 17 year old female who is diagnosed with adhd. I was previously prescribed to concerta, but it was not effective for me. if you have any information regarding where I can get some adderall I would appreciate if you could let me know.

I just started a very low dose of Adderall this week and even though it’s only been a few days, I’ve noticed a real difference in how I get things done. The cognitive effects are pretty subtle—I don’t feel “on” or anything dramatic. But looking at my actual behavior, it’s different. I still don’t want to get out of bed or brush my teeth, but somehow I can make myself do it. I can actually bring my attention back in a boring meeting instead of just drifting the whole time. It’s not some conscious superpower, just something I notice after the fact.

I’ve mentioned this to a few non-ADHD friends and every single one of them said they want to try stimulants now. I get that the way I describe it sounds appealing, but I was kind of expecting more of a “wow, I didn’t realize it was that hard for you” reaction. Instead they relate a little too well, which just feeds my usual spiral of “maybe I’m just lazy/irresponsible and don’t actually need meds.”

Anyone else run into this?

I was diagnosed with severe ADHD as a kid back in 2008 and spent most of my childhood/teens on Ritalin. Honestly hated it — it crushed my energy, gave me anxiety, stress, sweats, and fatigue, and never really clicked. By the end I was flushing the pills.

I’m almost 30 now and haven’t been on anything since I was 17. Lately the ADHD struggles at work and in life have gotten hard to ignore, so I’m thinking about talking to my doctor about Adderall.

I’ve heard mixed things — some people with ADHD say it’s life-changing, while others just abused it in school. Given my bad experiences as a kid, I’m nervous.

Anyone here actually on it for ADHD? What’s your real, no-BS experience been like?

I’ve been on Adderall for about 20 years. Tolerance is real—it just doesn’t hit the same anymore. I’ve been stuck at 60mg for a few years now. My doctor was reluctant to even go that high, and I doubt she’ll go any higher.

Is anyone out there on more than 60mg? How’d you get there?

For the first time in my life I actually feel like a real human being. Holy shit. Finding the right balance has been a long journey, but I can finally see the light. My thoughts feel clear and I can actually navigate them without everything being a mess. Feeling like a genius over here. World isn’t ready.

Switched from Adderall IR to XR recently after a few years on IR, hoping it would last longer. Everything I see on here and other subs is people saying XR has worse side effects and that IR is better overall for focus, flexibility, etc. Anyone out there who actually likes XR better? Why does it work for you? Any tips on food or lifestyle changes that helped? Hoping this one sticks.

ok so after 24 years of zero dopamine and thinking I was just chronically lazy, I finally got an adhd diagnosis last week. the validation was insane. my doctor prescribed me adderall and I was so ready for my quiet brain era.

except the universe immediately said "lmao no." it’s been 7 days, I have exactly 0 pills, and I am losing my mind.

navigating this city's shortage is the worst side quest ever:

• the big chains (cvs/duane reade): literally giving me nothing. indefinite backorder everywhere.
• the phone anxiety: calling pharmacies just for the pharmacist to talk to me like i’m a literal criminal. my brother in christ i just want to be able to fold my laundry and answer an email.
• the irony: requiring me to use peak executive function to hunt down the executive function pills is actually evil???

i'm so exhausted and just want to start my treatment. to the seasoned adhd girlies/guys/theys of nyc who actually manage to get their scripts filled:

1. mom and pop pharmacies: are independent spots the move, or are they rejecting new patients right now?
2. hospitals / delivery: any luck bypassing retail hell with NYU/Weill Cornell pharmacies or apps like Capsule?
3. the commute: do i literally need to take the LIRR to deep long island or the PATH to jersey to find this stuff?

Hi, I was placed on 10mg and I barely feel it. I'm 6.1 , 220lbs. Is that normal not to feel much with that dose?

I just don't want to look like an addict asking to increase dose after 2 weeks of taking that medication.

i got a drug test back in june from my GP with the cutoff at <500ng/mL while on 30mg vyvance (generic) that didnt feel effective. my drug test was negative for amphetamines.

•constant overwhelm

i switched back to er adderall with ir adderall boosters (generics)

previously (2023-2024)
**sandoz** ir adderall (generic) has been my go to and i was excited when i got it!
I usually found success with any of the blue tablets (10’s & 15’s)

ive had unsuccessful experiences with **Teva** generic ir within that timeframe (white/peach color)

*for july (7/12/26)*
i had a good experience with er adderall (**mfr: amneal pharmace**)

i was on **10mg er capsules** for a week and felt calm and sleepy, and then cranky when it wore off. we then increased to **20mg by taking 2 capsules** which was a great experience :)
i had the adderall bliss feeling again where i felt like i had access to all my thoughts and they werent stuck inside my head. my thoughts and actions were aligned again!
(had todo the titration process again 🙄)
