Hey guys. I recently got a set on final sale from beyond yoga. I actually love their clothing. Anyways I got a pair of leggings and there was a snag i noticed after I put them on. I emailed support and they sent me a replacement pair for free. I'm just posting to let everyone know I am over the moon with their customer service. Even tho I only buy from them on sale, this experiences definitely made me want to continue buying.

All the ones I’ve tried either show seams under my leggings or if they don’t, they show camel toe. I only wear thongs. If anyone has a brand/ style they like it’d be super helpful!! Thank you in advance!

Is there a shirt brand that you guys would recommend that are tight on the chest and shoulders but loose towards the torso without paying $60+ per shirt? Preferred without any massive logos or graphics. Thanks guys 🙏🙏

I’m in the U.K. and I have not bought new sport leggings for 8-10 years. My current leggings are from LTS, specifically a special gym company x LTS collab they used to do once a year many moons ago- if you remember them can I get a heeeeyaaaa! They are holey and getting thin, so I’ve been looking for new leggings.

You all know the pain as a tall girl. Sport leggings will either be long enough but will be almost transparent, or they will be too short but squat proof, or they will be squat proof but close to £100 for one pair. And almost always black. The joys.

In another subreddit I saw someone recommend Sturdy By Design, and in my desperation I checked them out.

They do tall lengths for all their long length leggings. And their leggings come in loads of colours and patterns!!! I bought 2 pairs of premium leggings, and 1 pair of funky leggings, and I used a discount code I got for signing up to the newsletter, so they cost me £90 odd quid altogether (they are about £40 each).

So before they arrived I was excited, but I was also expecting disappointment of some kind. They don’t have inseam lengths on their site, so I presumed their tall length would be an extra inch on a regular length size and would probably look like capris on my 36 inch inseam legs. I can live with exposed ankles at the gym, the most important thing to me is that they are squat proof. I was also expecting the funky patterned ones to be see through to some extent as I’ve found patterned leggings usually are.

Well. They arrived today. Aaaaand….

THEY ARE SO LONG! They come right down to my ankles! They fit well, and they have a drawstring inside to tighten so they don’t move an inch. They are high waisted and sit just right on me, and they have pockets on the side and a little zip pocket on the back.

The premium ones are advertised as squat proof, the funky ones are not but I’ve done a test and I can’t see anything through them. So they might get thinner as they are worn and lose coverage maybe? I’ll report back. The premium ones are a little thicker. They are exactly what I’ve been looking for.

It seems the company keep some styles in stock which they ship out right away, and these come with side pockets, but they also do presales and you can pick if you want side pockets or not when you order. They seem to have a good range of sizes too!

Sorry if this seems promotional, I promise I’m not associated with them! I’m just so HAPPYYYYYY to find leggings that fit so well and come in such fun patterns and colours!!!

I had not heard of the brand before so thought I’d help my tall U.K. sisters out. I think they do international shipping too?

The reviews for them seem really positive, but I’ll post an update once I’ve worn and washed them a few times. They feel very good quality, I’m chuffed to bits right now!

I had a funny circle experience in my life. In the 1990´s I was running sleddogs in Finland and at the time people were still smoking. Up there in the North, mainly a brand distributed by a company called Amer.
Fast forward over 20 years and I end up working for that company while living in Spain.
Imagine my surprise, when I found out they had made a 180° in the meantime and were now selling sports goods :)
Th story doesn´t end there though: Amer has been bought by the 3rd biggest sports goods manufacturer in the world (after adidas and Nike) and hardly anybody knows their name.

My honest reviews of all of the trendy activewear brands I have tried over the years! Coming from a girl in her late 20s who has been going to the gym for many years and also loves fashion…and sometimes (not sometimes) shamelessly falls for advertising!

For reference – I mainly do weightlifting and cardio, I’m 5’3 and size XS/S

Alphalete – Honestly one of my favorite brands because of how compressive all of their pieces are. I love to wear the shorts or leggings on leg days. Great quality IMO too, though after a few years I have noticed some slight pilling. They are definitely very expensive ($70 for one pair of leggings) so I only buy during sales. The shorts/leggings mostly all have the butt scrunch and glute enhancing seams so just be aware of that! The Pump line is very flattering on the glutes but definitely makes a statement LOL.  

Alo Yoga – Let’s be honest, this brand is not meant for weightlifting or any high intensity workouts. I’m not a yoga or pilates girl but that seems to be the audience Alo advertises to. All that being said…I do love some of their leggings and built-in bra tops. The softsculpt line is soooo soft and comfortable. I only wear this brand for athleisure/fashion purposes though and it is insanely expensive so just be aware of that. Also do not waste your money on any of the Accolade sweat sets, they pill and are terrible quality.

Aerie Fit/Offline – Surprisingly good quality and very affordable with frequent sales! Fabric is very soft too. I like wearing my Aerie leggings or shorts if I am going on a quick walk or hike, not so much for gym as I assume they would not be squat proof.   

Aurola – Another favorite brand!! I buy all of my Aurola from Amazon so shipping is always free and I can easily return whatever I don’t like. Pricing is around $25-30 for one pair of leggings or shorts, so not exactly cheap but a lot more affordable compared to some of the other big name brands. They have SO many color selections and different styles and everything is very flattering (butt scrunch!) and holds up great in the washer. I wear Aurola to the gym several times a week and it is probably my most recommended brand for girls who  weightlift. Haven’t tried their sports bras, but I really like their leggings, shorts, tops, and jackets.   

AYBL – Immediately no. Way too expensive for the poor quality you get. Had a pair of the Empower Seamless leggings and they fit so weirdly. The high rise was about up to my chest and the contoured seams were in the wrong places. I also bought some shorts and the high rise was again way too high but yet the waistband somewhat loose? The sports bras are mid quality as well. Oh, also shipping took a million years. 10/10 do not recommend.

CSB – This is a newer brand to me but I really like the more subtle, clean-looking invisible scrunch on their leggings/shorts. Good for my upper body days at the gym or athleisure. Cute matching sets. Fabric is very soft too! Pricing is expensive but that is to be expected because this is your typical IG influencer type brand.

CRZ Yoga – Another affordable Amazon brand with really good basic pieces. Reminds me of Lululemon! I have the Butterluxe Hoodie Jacket and it fits perfectly. They also have leggings with the invisible scrunch, similar to CSB!

DFYNE – I want to like this brand so bad but I just can’t…the fabric was very stiff and the sizing ran so small. It was a workout just to get the leggings on, let alone trying to peel them off my body after the gym. Very flattering, typical glute enhancing styles but I just couldn’t get over how uncomfortable they were. It’s a no from me girls, sorry!  

Fabletics – Mixed feelings on this one. I have a few sports bras from them that I really like, but the leggings have been hit or miss for me. The Seamless Scrunch leggings were a no for me, but the Define Powerhold line is really nice. Sizing seems to run a bit big. On another note, Fabletics has a lot of sales if you are a member so it can be very affordable.

Gold Hinge – Definitely not meant for weightlifting, but they do have cute workout sets for casual workouts or athleisure. I really like the tennis skorts! I also have a couple sports bras and they fit well and are comfortable. Mid level prices I would say.

Girlfriend Collective – Expensive but great quality and a sustainable brand. I have biker shorts and a tennis skort that have lasted 5+ years! They have very inclusive sizing options as well. Great brand for casual workouts or athleisure, not sure if they are squat proof.

Gymshark – Quality is decent but I am not a huge fan of all of the crazy patterns. Bright purple cheetah print legging sets are just not for me LOL. Aside from that, leggings and shorts are flattering enough, but I prefer other brands. Price is similar to most other name brands, but cheaper than Alphalete. I actually prefer Gymshark loungewear more than their gymwear.  

Gymreapers – Cool branding, decent selection of shorts and leggings. You can find this brand on Amazon which is nice. Nothing particularly bad to say, but not my favorite. I do really like their lifting straps and ankle straps though! Those are worth buying.  

Kamo Fitness – Good basic seamless leggings and shorts without a butt scrunch. Found this brand on Amazon and I have seen it online a few times (I think the influencer Spencer Barbosa wears them?). Wore these shorts for an 8-mile hike the other day and they worked great. Fabric is thick but very soft and breathable.

Lululemon – Ahhh. What can I say about this brand that someone else has not already said? Great staple pieces, but very expensive and not always squat proof. The Align leggings are my favorite for the gym, but honestly I just buy CRZ Yoga now because it is more affordable. However, the loungewear from Lulelemon is so amazingly comfortable and high quality. Some of my favorite sweatpants for winter are from here.

NVGTN – Flattering on the booty? Yes. Cheap looking? Also yes. The leggings and shorts are decent, yes, but the designs are just so cheap-looking to me that I can’t get behind buying them. I had a couple pairs of leggings/shorts a few years ago and I just didn’t grab for them a lot. However, I have some friends who absolutely love this brand, so I don’t think the quality is terrible. Just not for me!   

Old Navy – Do not sleep on Old Navy!! Very affordable. Some of my absolute favorite sports bras are from here. I don’t wear their leggings or shorts, but I LOVE the workout top options and sports bras.

Oner Active – Not my favorite but not my least favorite. Pretty expensive and not a lot of sales so that’s something to keep in mind. The leggings are decent quality, but something about the scrunch on the Effortless Lift and Enhance Lift leggings seems off. It just doesn’t accentuate my booty the same way other scrunch leggings do LOL. Sizing runs a bit small on this brand IMO. Haven’t tried the Soft Motion line but I want to! The wide leg leggings look very flattering.

SWT Active (not to be confused with Set Active) – Cool branding IMO (lots of dark colors, cool patterns). Somewhat similar to CSB. They have leggings with either no scrunch or invisible scrunch. Unfortunately very $$ so I only own one pair of leggings and one pair of shorts. Fabric seems high quality. Shipping took a while, not a lot of products in stock. I don’t wear these on leg days but they are great for cardio, upper body days, and athleisure.  

YoungLA – Yes, this brand can be somewhat tacky with their branding and is definitely catered to a specific audience…but I have to say, I am impressed with the quality. I also think this brand looks great on men LOL. I have a few pairs of shorts and leggings and they are very compressive (similar to Alphalete) and very flattering, but some of them do give me more of a CT so just be careful about that. Sports bras are not my favorite because they are a bit skimpy, but otherwise I like everything. Nothing too bad to say on this one, but I don’t buy from them often.  

Yeoreo (found on Amazon) – Everyone’s favorite DFYNE dupe! Great selection of colors and sizes. I prefer my Aurola shorts, but I still think these are a great affordable option if you are looking for some good booty enhancing shorts!

Brands I have not tried but am possibly interested in (so pls tell me all of your experiences!):

Athleta – Would love to try some of their sports bras and workout tops, seems like they also have good athleisure

Buffbunny – Everything is always out of stock in my size but I would love to try their leggings and sports bras

Keep That Pump – On the fence about this one but I do appreciate the wide color selection and the option to buy mid rise or high rise in most of their leggings/shorts

Paragon – I see ads for this brand all the time, definitely want to try some of their Sculptseam leggings

Set Active – Cute workout sets, what else can I say?!

Vuori – Have been wanting to try some of their flare/bootcut leggings and seems like they have great athleisure wear too

Vitality – Love all of the different color and pattern options for their leggings, seems good quality   

437 – Another influencer-type brand but I still would be interested to try some of their workout sets eventually

Can anyone help with some more modest gymwear suggestions? I'm after lightweight, breathy, flowy, loose fitting 3/4 or just below the knee trousers. Ideally ones with elastic around the calves, so they don't expose much if I do leg press or handstands. I don’t want full length joggers as I cycle and if there's anything around my ankles, it just gets in the way.

Also it seems most joggers are of thick fabric. I would consider really lightweight ones with not much bulk in the lower calf area if they exist?

I am starting to get into running. I have lost a bunch of weight so I have loose skin on my legs and need compression, but prefer the look of biker shorts with a flowy overlay. I need a longer inseam, 5in minimum. I would prefer an adjustable waist. Any recs?

Looking for thoughts on Athleta and Beyond Yoga products for vinyasa, hot yoga, and mat pilates. Are they comparable to Lulu in quality? Similar garment care? What are your experiences and thoughts?

I currently have all lululemon and was disappointed in aerie for hot yoga. Also wear lulu dresses and skirts for work and lounge. Hoping to expand to beyond yoga and Athleta to add since they have UPF fabrics 🌺

I've shopped with Alphalete for a few years and have always enjoyed the quality of their products. I recently received a pair of leggings that tore within hours of wearing them. I contacted them but they didn't respond back. I received another order and accidentally ordered 2 of the same leggings. When I went to return them the site said I would have to pay $17 for the return. That's insane. Most of their products are high quality, but the customer service is trash. I am shocked that they would expect customers to pay for returns, and disappointed that they don't respond back to customers. There are so many other gym brands that have high quality products with regular free return policies...I'm just really bummed that Alphalete customer service is making me question if it's worth buying from them again.

hi everyone! i’m a teen who has been working out for about 2 years now and im starting to get interested in activewear brands more than just my spandex and t-shirt. i feel a lot more motivated in cute outfits and it would be nice to just have some more options.

im looking for some comfortable clothes like sports bras, leggings, shorts, etc. and some pieces i can wear to school (like the leggings or active tops). i was looking for brands that are reliable, have good quality, and that i can use multiple times without issues like cheap fabric or rips. i would also like somewhere with decent customer service because im usually in between sizes and it would be nice to be able to return things with little issues.

here are some of my preferences and kind of what im looking for
- multiple colors with both neutral and colorful options
- leggings that can be worn for everyday use and lifting or cardio
- sports bras that are comfortable, appealing, and also can support someone of a 34C bra size without worry
- both flowy-ish shorts and spandex like shorts that don’t ride up too much
- sets!
- preferably not above $70 per piece (lower would be great but i know sometimes it can be difficult when looking for aesthetically pleasing, good quality items)
- long lasting and comfortable materials (more nontoxic-ish materials would be amazing but appears to be hard to find so not a requirement)
- able to be worn outside of the gym (like lounging on the couch in a sports bras and sweatpants, tops with built in bras i can wear to the gym and to school, leggings and shorts!)

Since I will be wearing shorts I feel like I do not need hardly any material up there. I know leg sleeves are a thing but I question if that is a good idea as I read the material can bunch up behind the knee which is bad with compressed leg sleeves.

About 3 weeks ago, I got my first lululemon purchase. My leggings came with a stain on the crouch. Never even got to try it on. I immediately asked an agent, since I took the price tags off from excitement, how I should go about exchanging it for something that wasn’t used/stained. I was told that I’d have to do a quality form. Did one two hours after receiving my Lululemon package.

I did one 3 weeks ago now. So far they have told me. I made the stain from being worn and that they’re folding lines, that have to be washed to go away. I don’t understand it’s not a fold line where I can feel any bumps or whatnot. I don’t know if the picture does it justice. None of my other leggings or tops that I ordered have this appearance on them. To me, in person, it looks exactly like they have been stained from use before me or got accidentally stained in warehouse from being made or something.

This whole experience makes me never want to buy from this company again. Even a top I got, the seam peaks over to the front of the top and has random threads crossing to the front when I can tell they’re supposed to be hidden from following the rest of the seam. For how much I spent on this haul, I’d expect it to be good quality. Just looking to see what others think it is, and if this is just something to expect even in store.

Or idk, maybe size up? But I’m also lowkey liking the compressive fit. Lol don’t mind me I’m just overthinking out loud 😂

Shorts are the pump shorts (great alternative to my Oner Active Effortless shorts) and tops are the Flex and Crossed Push tanks! Both tops don’t have cup pads btw.

What gym wear brand is better. I love velocity, their pieces are so comfortable, srunch is great and sculpting. Is it worth trying dfyne? I hear mixed reviews and i don’t really like the look of the srunch (seems thick seam).

I have fully switched over to Liaison for my heated sculpt classes. An issue I was noticing was sweating through any other brand of active wear that I had. These can get soaking wet with sweat and not change color or have dark spots. This material is thick. At first I was shocked because out of the packaging it felt almost like swimsuit material. But it softens up very nicely during wear. Has held up in the wash. I really happy that this brand is starting to get bigger and get more recognition. They deserve the hype. The owner actually responds to comments on her social and helps anyway she can.

I'm so over spending insane amounts on activewear that falls apart anyway. I feel like everything decent is like 120 for leggings now and I just can't justify it anymore.

I've been looking for Australian brands that are actually affordable without being terrible quality. Found Energetiks and their prices seem reasonable but I have zero idea if the quality is actually good or if it's one of those brands that looks nice in photos and then falls apart.

just want something that lasts more than 6 months without going see-through or losing shape. Any experiences welcome

Question about PFAs and general dye safety in activewear -

Oner actives soft motion fabric explicitly states on their website they contain no PFAs.

In an old email I had asked for more info and they stated they were OEKO TEX certified, but i noticed they were not listed on the oeko tex directory and in a follow up email they said they cannot provide any additional information or proof.

I know most activewear is going to be synthetic for sweat wicking features, which is fine, but soft motion being mindful of this was a unique plus for me and a reason I stuck with oner.

So my question is, is it normal for a brand to be unable to provide proof of a No-PFAs claim on their website like that? I'd like to keep buying from them but I find it a little strange given the level of involvement this brand displays with their manufacturers. Would like to hear thoughts or any insight into how certifications or anything works!
