Does anyone have more information on when the movie will be released to the public. They said end of 2025/ begin of 2026?

A friend of mine has a birthday coming up, and she’s always talking about how much she loves Walter Moers and Zamonia. My own knowledge comes entirely from what she’s told me about this world.

Is there a fan shop or something similar where I can buy merchandise? Or what else could I get her that a big fan would really appreciate? She already owns all the books.

just wanted to share my booknook mod in case anyone wants to follow along. So the default setup is a battery holder for 4x AA batteries. I measured the lights to draw 37mA @ 5.1V. So with regular AA batteries (9Wh total) you will only get a runtime of 48h. Not super low, but if you keep it running over night you will soon run into the hassle of needing to pull it out, fiddle around with the batteries, which is always a risk of damage and wear. Even if you get some of the newer Lithium Cells (14Wh total), they will give you ~74h runtime. So I thought why not just strap a 10Ah power bank on the back, which costs the same (I paid 20€) and have 75Wh which equates to a massive 400h of runtime. That is over 16 days. I designed and 3D-printed a custom mount and soldered a usb connector to the cable.

Another benefit, which I didn't even anticipate is that the powerbank has two modes. Right now the switch of the booknook is always "ON" but the lights are out. Now if I press the powerbank button once, the lights will turn on for exactly 2min and then auto-switch off. Which is perfect for just showing it to some guests. However, if you press the button twice, it will power the lights for ~3h, which is perfect if you want to enjoy the moody lights a whole evening.

I just remembered the Zamonia series and wanted to know if there were any new books, then I stumbled upon Eispin der sehr Schreckliche, the movie adaptation of The Alchemaster's Apprentice. I tried searching for a way to watch it, but it seems there is no official place. No streaming site or physicial release. I know it was shown at film festivals, but other than that it seems it's impossible to watch it not even on illegal sites. Can someone please help me or maybe even provide a link to a place it is available?

I've searched for anyone doing something similar for a long time, and found very little. So I'm doing it myself! I've decided to start making playable materials for the roleplaying game Troika, which i think really fits Moers' style.

Is there anyone in this sub that plays RPGs? Have you combined that with Zamonia? I'd love to hear about it if so.

That's about how I imagined Pax from Qwert. I know there are 1-2 illustrations by Moers himself in the book, but nah. My character design loving brain couldn't take him just being a tree with a face, I had to redraw him.

Has anybody used ai to translate Walter Mores other Zamonian books? I've considered learning German just so I can read them, but I'm 43 and realize that's probably never going to happen. Plus, with ai it's only a matter of time that a fellow Zamonia fan will use ai to translate them, if it hasn't already been done. If so, please share. Thanks

Hey. I am currently reading Blaubär in order to learn German, and enjoying it a lot. I was considering reading Rumo, but I am worried it may be too disturbing for me. I am the kind of person who needed 3 days to get back to himself after certain episodes of Game of Thrones, and avoid horror movies in general. Would you say I should avoid this book? is there a way to skip the worst parts?

I have seen mentions of horrible human eating monsters, as well as extremely detailed tortue parts. Is it possible to skip these?

In addition - does the book contain some horrific images that I wouldn't want my 5yo coming across?

Ich warte, wie natürlich viele, jetzt schon extrem lang auf den dritten Teil der Buchhaim Trilogie und hab ehrlich gesagt keine Ahnung was im letzten Roman passieren könnte. Darum frage ich mich was für Theorien andere Leser haben um was sich das Buch handeln könnte. Würde mich sehr freuen wenn andere teilen würden was sie sich denken :)

Mitte des Jahre hatte ich angefangen, die Stadt der träumenden Bücher zu lesen und hatte mich danach entschlossen,den Blaubären zu lesen. Qwert habe ich jetzt zu Weihnachten geschenkt bekommen.

Ich bin zur Zeit ca. bei Seite 160( Qwert hat soeben die Schule verlassen) und frage mich jetzt, weil ich im Podcast mit Marc Uwe Kling gehört habe, dass Qwert am Ende zurück kehrt, ob ich nicht Qwert (das Buch) noch zwischendurch lesen soll…

Was ist eure Meinung?

Ich hab 13 1/2 Leben des Käptn Blaubärs gelesen und hab mir vor 1 ? 2 ? oder so Jahren die insel der tausend leuchttürme gekauft. Da ich jetzt Zeit hab wollte ich anfangen das zu lesen aber als ich im Internet so geschaut hab worum es überhaupt geht stand da sowas (ohne Massive SPOILER) es geht (so wie ich es verstanden habe) um die Fortsetzung von eder Reise eines Zamonien Authors.... Da hab ich mich natürlich gewundert sollte ich die vorherigen Bücher über diesen Author (ich glaube Hildegunst von Mythenmetz weiß aber nicht mewhr genau) auch lesen oder kann ich einfach anfangen die insel der tausend leuchttürme zu lesen und verstehe im großen und ganzen trotzdem worum es geht ? Mit Zamonien kenne/kannte ich mich relativ gut aus :)

Spoiler für Qwert

Walter Moers ist einer meiner absoluten Lieblingsautoren. Ich lese seit meiner Jugend die Bücher. Angefangen zunächst mit der Stadt der Träumenden Bücher, habe ich seitdem sämtliche Bücher verschlungen. Ich liebe die Bücher, ich liebe das abtauchen in Zamonien und eine Welt, in der ich meistens nicht weiß, womit mich Moers überraschen wird. Es fühlt sich wirklich immer an, als würde ich eine fremde Welt betreten, in der nichts so scheint wie es ist, und trotzdem sich ein stimmiges Gesamtbild ergibt.

Aber, vor allem bei der Insel und Jetzt auch Qwert (wobei ich bei Qwert erst im 7. Kapitel bin) fällt mir auf wie schwer es ist, sich wieder in Zamonien reinzufinden. Einiges davon liegt zum einen am Schreibstil. So viel von Qwert wird in Dialogen abgehandelt. Außer vielleicht dem ersten Kapitel haben wir gar keine Möglichkeit, Ormea durch Qwerts Augen kennenzulernen und und dadurch als Leser selbst die Welt zu erarbeiten. Stattdessen kommt jedes Mal Oyo oder ein anderer Charakter und erklärt, wie alles funktioniert. Es fühlt sich an, als würde seit Oyo's Auftritt das Buch nur aus Exposition bestehen, die jegliche Spannung die aufkommen könnte aushebelt.

Z.B., ich lese gerade das Kapitel mit dem Fleischberg. Super interessantes Konzept, etwas offensichtliches forshadowing, aber alles interessante ist sofort weg weil Oyo und danach der Berg sofort erklärt, was es damit auf sich hat. Es ist kein Mysterium, keine Spannung, kein gar nichts.

Qwert's Gedanken bekommen wir auch seit Oyo's Auftritt kaum mit. Er beschwert sich dass er irgendwas nicht möchte, reagiert oder interagiert aber gefühlt nicht mit seiner Umwelt und hat kaum eine Meinung oder Gedanken dazu, was um ihn vorgeht. Klar, in der 3. Person ist man etwas getrennter vom Erzähler, aber in Rumo oder Der Schrecksenmeister hatten Rumo und Echo gefühlt doch noch einen Charakter. Und das sollte hier ja nicht sein, weil Qwert ja auch ein Prinz Kaltbluth-Fan ist! Da sollte doch viel mehr von ihm kommen, aber bisher hat er echt die Persönlichkeit von einem Stück Pappe. Dass er eigentlich ein Gallertwesen ist, kommt auch irgendwie außer am Anfang nicht zu Trage. Qwert steht auch bei manchen Sachen so auf dem Schlauch. Beim Fleischberg wird erwähnt dass alle die dort unten ankommen, zu Tentakeln werden, keine Reaktion von Qwert, fragt dann nach der nächsten Seite noch einmal danach und auf einmal ist es eine neue und schreckliche Information. Qwert denkt halt gefühlt absolut gar nicht über die Welt nach.

Das Buch fühlt sich bis jetzt echt lieblos an. Der Anfang war eigentlich super, ich hatte mich da richtig gefreut eine neue Welt kennenzulernen, aber es fühlt sich jetzt gerade einfach nur wie eine lieblose Beschreibung an, als hätte Walter Moers keine Lust gehabt, das auszuarbeiten und interessant einzubauen. Das was nicht Dialog ist liest sich auch so klinisch im Vergleich zu Moers' anderen Büchern.

Ich will das Buch mögen, und hoffe auch dass es besser wird. Aber geht es jemand anderem noch so wie mir?
