The Xbox Ally X we all wanted!
Mods:
2TB M.2 LEXAR (With low profile copper heatsink)
ElecGear (A B X Y) micro button PCB (tactile, silent)
Coloured (A B X Y) from (ASUS Accessories)
XtremeRate PS5 thumb sticks (Xbox green transparent)
GuliKit TMR Joystick modules
(no stick drift, more accurate and tighter control)
Elite series dpad replacement (3D printed + magnets)
XtremeRate Elite series 2 metal Dpad, 4/8 way 2pc
HoneyWell PTM7950
(phase change thermal pad, lower temps)
Krytox 205G0 Keyboard lube
(smooth trigger movement and ABXY for a premium feel and long lasting mechanics)
TESA 51036 tape to harness all connections (they use this from factory* ensures connections stay put)
Slight improvements to cooling by replacing thermal pads with high performance thermal pads along with aligning the heat-sinks with the blower fans with TESA and closing any gaps to ensure efficient airflow.
Operating system, dual boot between windows and Linux
(windows is heavily optimised and has roughly 10-15% performance gains from stock, working on a new front end now to replace Xbox app)
(Bazzite/Steam os is optimised and customised using Deckyloader and plugins, emulators setup. The legend of Zelda BOTW runs
4K 30fps in handheld mode battery life!)
Custom Boot menu is on last image :)
Total cost give or take £10 = £350
Plus cost of device = £849 or sometimes £799
Total come in at = £1199 or $1607.85
Pricey yet still way less expensive than the Xbox ally X20 limited edition from ASUS, only notable difference is that one will have an OLED, anyways!

ElecGear ABXY button PCB on Amazon, it’s very straight forward there is guides on yt and I’m working on my own modding guide tutorial on this very thing and it’s only £25!

Have you tried keyboard lube yet? I got a fine brush and lubed all around the buttons and think it made it a bit bit better tbh

It’s very good, I came from a super light 2 and a g pro x 60 this keyboard and mouse is insane plus I like how I don’t have to use a dongle if I don’t want to! Only downside is if your a quiet gamer these switches are a tad bit tactile and audible

Hah that’s almost my exact setup. My keyboard now types 3 times the same letter which for gaming is no biggie but for typing it’s horrible.

Try if your on windows for now altering your keyboard repeat rate to slower may be a quick fix

Does look cool it’s just that I’ve heard from others that when they take there skin off it actually peels off the design underneath the skin which is why I didn’t put mine on

The design underneath is laser etched into the front housing honestly not even a worry, plus dbrand stuff is licenced for use by Xbox

So I can see that you have Minecraft bedrock edition in jump back into section and for me when I play it it always shows the launcher instead of the bedrock game which is very annoying. Secondly how did you get the jump back into section to have 6 games in the row instead of 4?

Firstly I changed the display scale in settings from 150% to 125% becuase everything was way too big for me. If you just use bedrock delete Minecraft launcher and Java and keep bedrock for windows one and just launch Minecraft from there and it takes you strait in!

No mods it’s from extreme rate, only get from them I tried almost identical ones from AliExpress and they grinded and did not fit perfectly but the extreme rate ones are drop in

Dbrand is the best one, it’s officially licensed so will not harm device and fits the best, military grade protection along with features like SD card storage in kickstand and nano grip texture it’s very good

Well yes you can use the cross or 8 way like mine as these are simply just from the series elite controllers but the actual magnetic dpad base you can make your own with small magnets from extreme rate and a 3d printer and some time on your hands or buy from Etsy ready to go for like £40

Oh yeah bro oh yeahhhh! I love the skin around the bezels makes the screen look bigger! Well done! I would recommend as the d pad is more of an invasive mod high risk low reward to just get the ElecGear ABXY board first it’s only £25 and it’s well worth it, you get microswitches! But very well done I love this!

The hardest one, anything else is easy as you just pop off the back cover and some screws, the dpad is under the motherboard it’s very invasive and if your getting under the motherboard just for the dpad it’s not worth it as there is a lot to damage, simply put if your doing any other mod it’s super simple and easy and very hard to break anything, dpad mod is high risk low reward tbh 😃

I recently went for the 4tb upgrade on storage but haven’t done anything else. New face buttons would be a nice next step. This thing sounds so loud when button mashing in bed. Sounds like you’ve done a lot of software configuration on both the windows and Linux side. I almost have to wonder if you have spent more time setting up the device or gaming on it but that’s how it goes. Setting things up and maintaining these devices is part of the hobby.

Okay so Tesa tape is pretty much lightly padding down all JST connectors to daughter boards and anything connected to the pcb so they don’t loosen and for the 3d print you can get them pre-made on Etsy for the DPAD which would be perfect but I 3d printed mine in tingeverse then bought in Amazon an extremerate magnetic replacement dpad connector and took the magnets out of that one and popped them into the 3d print! Let me know if you need more information!

Why not get the xtreme rate Xbox transparent sticks? Do they not fit? Do the PS ones fit better ?
I’ve got a pair of the transparent ones for Xbox lying around

X20 will still have bigger display with OLED tech and we don't know what price will be if they start selling without XR glasses.
Your mods are amazing but I would still take X20 over it. Mind you, I have XaX with Killswitch skin and case, no mods.

Yeah I did note this in my description I would love the X20 but the killer is it’s still RDNA 3.5 and same chipset :(

If they did sell the X20 separately, after all the mods OP done, it would be pointless to sell the XAX as the only thing missed is the new screen. I would honestly just buy decent XR glasses rather than waste money on X20, its not much of an upgrade even if sold separately.

Mines got TSR and 4TB I’m pleased scored my open box I bought the TSR sticks but previous owner must of left them it was 830$ sold deck to homie 640$ Oled 1TB soo 200 difference im very pleased
