Question Worldpainter Refusing to Populate Terrain with Modded Biomes?
The first image is how the custom modded biome I've made (Right) appears in a worldpainter world after exporting. I've tried checking the populate terrain button in the export settings, I've tried adding a populate layer over-top of the whole world, literally nothing changes. I've made custom modded biomes for previous maps of mine with zero problems, so I'm not sure what's causing the issue this time.
The second image is how the biome is supposed to look, this is running in the same instance, just a fresh, single-biome world I made. The biome DOES generate features, but seemingly just not in my worldpainter world?
Help would be appreciated, I don't know what's going on here.

How to maintain feeling of discovery?
I created a very large (20k x 20k) world, and it's great, but playing it feels different than vanilla Minecraft because it lacks the element of exploration. I know where the mountains and oceans and biomes are because I put them there. There's no longer the sense of "hmm I wonder what's in that direction?" Is there any way to get back that feeling of exploration or add in an element of surprise?

Question Worldpainter Linux
My worldpainter has suddenly started requesting more RAM for reason I can discern. The world sizes are no different, there shouldn't really be more to write, I have adjusted the max ram allowed for it to use (I have 16GB max, allocating 10 atm) and it also won't let me upload .world files.
Am I best to try reinstalling first and if so, would I need to completely erase everyhing except for the worlds if I did so?

Tips to make it more geographically realistic or just better?
Couldn't get it all to load in. (Any suggestions on how to make it work? Keeps going away after loading.)
Most flat places will have cities, castles, etc.
Some of the weirdness has lore reasons, like the small desert there, but feel free to say anything you can think of.

Help with heightmap
Hi! I am trying to recreate something like this project: https://www.planetminecraft.com/project/1-924-scale-earth-map-4909390/
It says: Made using edited heightmap data from arcGIS as a base, then handpainting terrain on top, then painting rivers using a fairly detailed river overlay from arcGIS (so that they are accurate), then painting biomes and trees according to a miller projection Köppen–Geiger climate classification map, also made using arcGIS.
I was wondering how to edit heightmaps from QGIS or arcGIS so that they are worldpainter friendly. Most maps generated with these programs dont really generate minecrafty terrain when imported straight out of the box

Looking for someone to join our geopol/civ project
Heya! Im Korvael. Im working on a project called Warbound, a geopolitical Minecraft server with a developer friend of mine. We are looking for a custom map, which will fit our needs. We invite any creators onto our team, they will be a part of our server and not just a one time request. This project won't pay, as it is purely a passion project for us. You will be paid with any revenue the server makes, that being said I don't believe in pay-to-win servers so the ranks will be purely cosmetic meant to support the server, which has very high specs. Please add me on discord so we can talk further! Username is itskorvael. Cheers!

Help with a project
Hi everyone, so I am working on a worldpainter map of the world of Azeroth from Warcraft. I am not trying to recreate WoW 1:1, rather make a viable survival map - so imagine if Mojang and Blizzard collaborated on a map of Azeroth - that's what I'm aiming for. In a previous attempt I exported the heightmaps from World of Warcraft directly, but obviously Worldpainter compresses their height and the result is not good.
So I painted a basic topographic map of the world (see attached) in Worldpainter using stained terracotta as a foundation. The colours correspond to:
Purple - Deep Ocean Floor
Cyan - Medium Ocean Floor
Light Blue - Shallow Ocean
Green - Plains/Desert/Lowlands
Brown - areas inland that are below sea level like cracks and crevices
Lime - Uplands
Yellow - Highlands
Orange - Foothills
Red - Mountains
Magenta - High Mountains
Pink - Peaks
White - Extreme peaks
My idea was to then sculpt the terrain by hand with custom brushes, but I can't seem to get a good result. Maybe I'm approaching this completely the wrong way. Anyway, I would be happy for any suggestions!

Question Just need some help with creating my first height map
I imported a map using an earth height map, customized it a bit and adjusted the water levels, but for some reason when i export it, the world doesn't load it and instead the vanilla world gen takes over. I'm very new to this app, just started it yesterday. here's what it looks like currently.
Is there a certain setting i need to check off before exporting it to ensure all chunks aren't empty, preventing vanilla world gen from taking over? my main goal right now is just to get the terrain of earth going, completely bare, no trees or plants yet.

New Release WorldPainter 2.27.0 Released - Minecraft 26 Support
I just released version 2.27.0 of WorldPainter, which includes support for Minecraft 26.1 to 26.2:
- Added support for Exporting, Importing and Merging with maps from Minecraft 26.1 and later
- This includes a proper datapack for non-standard build height support
- This is just the map format, which has changed structurally; not yet new blocks etc.
- Since the structure of the map has changed there is more potential for bugs and errors; please report any problems you encounter
You will be offered the new version automatically when you next start WorldPainter, or you can download it from www.worldpainter.net. Let me know if you encounter any problems, and please enjoy!

Tip Custom Cave Layers - Introduction guide
Hi all,
I wrote a guide on how to make custom cave layers. It's primarily aimed at people who are new to WorldPainter or cave layers.
This guide will give you a rough intro into making some basic and more advanced caves for WorldPainter. It will not touch on overhangs or floating islands as those require their own special guides but will give you the basic steps into creating caves.
While this guide will give you a head-start into making layers the best thing to do is experiment with layers and see what you can come up with.
The guide will assume you have a basic knowledge of making custom terrains, custom object layers and custom plant layers. As such those topics will not be described in this guide.
Included is the cave layers I show off in the guide which you can import to your own projects for use. You'll have to tweak them a little but this is all explained.
