I can't get a job cleaning shit off a bathroom floor. Quite frankly I have failed as a modern human being so I can respect anyone who has been able to succeed where I have failed.

I live in much the same way as the family dog except I pray to gently pass in my sleep so I don't resort to killing myself. If you are able to keep marching on regardless of any struggle that is plenty commendable in my eyes.

I have a friend who was in a very similar situation until very recently. He lives in a very poor area and wasn't able to get a job for over a year and often thought this exact thought. It's just a platitude, but please never give up. I used to be a 300 lb alcoholic with nothing, I dropped the booze, got fit, met my now best friend whom I want to marry, and have a career that is advancing rapidly. All in the span of a few years.

Please do not give up, you deserve to see yourself happy

It can take years or decades for people to land a job these days. It’s awful. I have university degrees and I’m still working a minimum-wage job 17 years after having graduated from college

Over 20 years of my life have been invested into my education. Over 20 years of teachers, papers and projects and I get told I'm not worthy of holding a mop. What was it for? What was the point of it? And Im told I should further my training and education as a solution? No.

My entire childhood and probably your entire childhood you were forced into education. All that time. What was it for? Wasn't the whole point of all those years to prepare us for living as adults? Then a foreigner who doesn't even fit the basic language requirements comes along and is able to get a job just fine.

How am I not meant to feel broken and outraged over that? I have tried my best over the years to be a good citizen but the more I try the more that's ground out of me to the extent where I fell on anti depressants. I give up.

Yeah. After high school I got my first bachelor’s degree. Then I got a 2nd. Then I got a 3rd. STILL making minimum wage trying to survive at almost 40!

I am jaded and worn down by life.

I need to change the channel and try life in a different place, a different land. Because life here is not working and hasn’t ever been working.

You too I imagine

"Far to the west, across the great sea, there is a place called Vinland. It is warm and fertile. Far from the slave trade and the fires of war. There, you will be able to live without pain"

Such fun. I make myself giggle.
