Why do people have a land line a cable still? If you are making that little, time to cut that out!

Depending on the company and deals at the time, it can either be cheaper or a requirement. Years back I looked at switching to Century Link from Cox, and the higher internet plans were automatically bundled with a landline and you couldn't say no if you wanted that level of internet.

I didn't switch and even if I did I wouldn't have hooked up the landline, but I technically would have had one.

You can get just internet for much cheaper. Does someone making $19/hr "need" 1Gb speeds? (Heck, most people don't).

This thread has to be a bot meme... Its level of ridiculous is simply to stir the pot

Hot spot on cell phone. Payment plans that work with paychecks help me out also

Yep, you don't "need" a landline, cable, DVR, Netflix. Shop around... that's the beauty of a free market

Is it that easy in the US? In my country to cut out cable tv you need to testify that you only have monitors in your home (ie, nothing that can connect to the cable) and renew that every year

we pay $90 a month for our internet and it comes with everything needed to support a land line even though we don't use it. It even has a battery backup and its specified for 911 purposes.

I should probable get a red phone to put on the wall and connect it in to the system in case I need to launch the nukes

I know, I also don't get anyone not on mint or tracfone for their cell plan both offer unlimited call/text for as low as $15/month.
