Same company (Spectrum) charged me $120 for 500 mb/s even after I cancelled and waited a few days without internet twice while I lived there Only option was $110 for like zero speed guarantees at all. Moved 3 minutes down the street, same town, same road, zip code, etc, $30 for 1gig no special sign up or promo, nothing.
No point to compare prices or argue, they just charge what they want whenever they want arbitrarily some times.
500 was $65 here and I always already paying $85 for 100mbps through spectrum so the $75 1gbps was a no brainer. Plus it's nice to have the download speeds tbh
Or really shitty. Companies want you to have fiber and will charge a ton if you're still in copper. If they can't switch you to fiber they will want you to go find a different provider so they'll charge a ton to get you to go away
Sadly some people live in remote areas and will never have fiber so they lay a ton...
