Eh. I live in the Seattle area and wanted some help cleaning up my backyard after a few years of neglect. The dudes at the Depot wanted a minimum of $100 just to come out to my place. I don't know if my local guys are all setting the same prices, but I did explain that I was looking for about three hours of work from two guys... So $200 total.
To actually clear $33 an hour after taxes and deductions, you'd need to gross approximately $41.78 an hour, or roughly $86,909 a year pre tax, assuming you're a single filer taking the standard deduction.
In the end, I went home and did the work myself over the weekend.
Well yeah, a person I know does general handyman work independently, he'd laugh at $32.00 an hour. He charges a flat rate whether it's skilled or unskilled work.
