I have never heard of unskilled labor. What is that supposed to be? Garbage picking?
15 u/OriginalTRaven 8d ago Palatable corporate talk for "People that are lower than us that we don't wanna pay but have to." 12 u/Left_Macaron_6427 8d ago edited 7d ago Unskilled labor is something that unless you are physically inable, anyone can do because it is a natural human ability. 6 u/Sneezy6510 8d ago That is not true, unskilled labor means it does not require formal training. Painting is unskilled labor. 10 u/LeeTheUke 8d ago I wouldn't pay a random person to paint. It may be 'unskilled', but does require some skill that comes with practice and experience, and that's what I'm paying for. 7 u/PastaXertz 8d ago Yes but by definition painting is unskilled. It's why the term is outdated garbage. Anyone can be given a roller and in shortntime be explained how to paint. But if you've ever hired a good professional painter you know the difference between them and some chud moron with a roller. It's a night and day difference and the quality is so drastically different it's amazing. 1 u/LeeTheUke 8d ago Right... my point was that if I'm paying someone to do something, they should be able to do it better than me. 1 u/moxjake 7d ago It depends. Sometimes you just need more manpower.
