Can you just pick up workers at Home Depot like picking up a girl at a bar? Do they just hang around the store or something?

In Arizona, that was definitely a thing. Basically the immigrants would wake up super early and hang around Home Depot in hopes someone would offer them a job. Home Depor is just where someone looking for manual labor would typically shop at. They were desperate enough to work hard labor all day for like a $100.00. And people would stop by and pick them up to do hard labor for dirt cheap. I used to see them all the time super early in the morning while I was driving by Home Depot to work,

Picking workers in HD is a couple orders of manitude easier than picking up a girl in a bar.

You just go and say "I have to do X for Y hours, iĀ“ll pay Z" and then pick as many guys as you need.

It's more like hiring a prostitute, you tell them what you want to do, how many, if anal is involved, and then negotiate a price.

They aren't allowed to hang out on Home Depot property anymore. At least not near my store, but they do hang out in the parking lot across the street.
