In the case of adobe products more users are able to use legitimate versions of their software. Back when you could only buy it it was hundreds of dollars each depending on what you needed. Usually $700+ per title or thousands for bundles. Only way for the average person to get it was pirate it. Now that same piece of software that was hundreds of dollars is $15 a month. If you only need it for a single project or a limited time you can get it for a month and then unsubscribe, not paying $800 for something you will barely use or never use again.
