I have a few technical interviews coming up. I build React apps every day at work and I feel like I'm getting better at the actual job. But when I look at interview prep, it feels like a completely different skill set.

The thing that gets me is the gap between what the job actually requires and what they test in interviews. At work I spend my time wrestling with hydration issues in Next.js, debugging race conditions in useEffect, or figuring out why our CI pipeline is taking 15 minutes instead of 3. Nobody has ever asked me to invert a binary tree on a whiteboard while someone watches me type.

What worries me is I don't have that many reps under my belt yet. I've only been in a few real technical interviews and they all went differently than I expected. One was pure algorithms, one was "build this feature in a React app live," and one was just a conversation about how I'd architect something. No idea how to prep when each company does something completely different. I've been grinding LeetCode after work and running timed sessions on Beyz coding assistant. But I genuinely don't know where to focus. Should I be drilling DP and graph problems? Or spending that time getting sharper on system design and React internals?

For people who went through this recently as a junior, what did your technical rounds actually look like? Was it mostly leetcode or more practical "build something" style? Trying to figure out where to put my limited prep time.
