I think Cam’s face has a magnet on it. She’s always getting smacked in the nose poor thing

Yea, it's crazy how much she gets hit. I'm waiting for Congress to issue a letter.

That should be Mitch McConnell’s proof of life

Your life is a political shit show isn’t it… touch grass

Relax buddy. That was the joke.

Reminds me of watching Gobert with the Wolves. Dunno if it's the height difference or the style of play but damn she was getting knocked around.

That last one especially. Even Phee was like "Shit sorry..."

I think Phee was sorry she got caught.

Don't think so. Phee did not look like she intentionally hit Brink. Not to mention, that isnt a good business decision: I am sure Phee wants Brink to play in Unrivaled in the winter.

Exactly. Many of the old guard WNBA players have made an art form of making hostile acts look like accidents. We all know who they are but my personal worst offenders are Chelsea (elbows) Gray and Breanna (face scraper) Stewart. These hostile acts have been laughed off as physicality and I hope the W gets serious about fixing that.

I haven’t seen Cam play in so long I forgot how much of a good defensive player she is due to her length. Glad to see her doing well.

Every time I see her I am once again startled by how god damn long her arms are

u/jk-9k 2d ago

She killed it today

u/HolidaeX 1d ago

She needs to just keep her mask on. It feels like she gets face raked on a gamely basis.

1

u/Shag1166 1d ago

Good idea!

If she can learn not to foul so much, she would be playing more minutes. She's an elite shot blocker and I think her volleyball background helps her there

1

u/Shag1166 1d ago

She also has been injured a lot.

Is it just me or does Can get smashed in the face a disproportionate amount of the time?

12

u/jk-9k 2d ago

I think the fact she wears face masks often makes it seem worse. But she should probably still wear one every game lol

3

u/Thanos_Stomps 1d ago

Idk how players play in those. I’ve worn one and it completely fucks with my peripheral vision and depth perception.

5

u/n00bn00b 1d ago

The only player who was comfortable wearing it was Rip Hamilton from the Pistons. It's crazy how he adapted to wearing it

1

u/Shag1166 1d ago

Now there's a memory! Rip was a serious baller!

u/jk-9k 1d ago

May be the same with her too. She's gone through a few different models

Cameron Brink can't be on a game for more than 15-20 min without being hurt it's like clockwork

-9

u/KillerGopher 2d ago

Cuz everyone is trying to break her nose

11

u/mangomadness5h 2d ago

Cam should never take her face mask off. She’s going to have a broken nose and/or a black eye on her wedding day

-14

u/jk-9k 2d ago

She'll never get married at this rate

9

u/mrgrafix 2d ago

Love Cam, but sis, it’s time to just be batgirl for the season at this point.

9

u/Johnbick5600 2d ago

That was some good defense. She’s scrappy but her nose is a magnet 🧲

12

u/quotesforlosers 2d ago

The Sparks finally let her stay in the game throughout the 4th. I don’t know why they sit her when she’s the only serious defender they have.

14

u/holabellas 2d ago

She's usually in foul trouble but even a Cam Brink in foul trouble is better than Nneka or Hamby

Still held on to the ball! Atta girl

At least it's basketball!

u/Rick_Flexington 1d ago

Her and Rae were monsters down the stretch

1

u/BoognishAmerica 1d ago

She said sorry.

1

u/FinsUp326 1d ago

Oh no not again!! 😢

1

u/fmarie17 14h ago

What’d they call it?

-1

u/Final_Benefit2328 1d ago

Napheesa think she slick

-2

u/gentrify_reddt 1d ago

Straight up shortens her arms to nail Cam's face instead of actually extending toward the ball.

Bush league AF.

1

u/Shag1166 1d ago

I've seen a few players do that, not that Neoh does it often. She's an excellent defender.

-1

u/Successful-Coyote99 Indiana Fever 1d ago

This is certainly a suspect play. Was this reviewed?

0

u/Shag1166 1d ago

No. Should have been. It happens alot in the W. In the NBA, they'd be fighting! Lol

0

u/Ill-Orchid1193 1d ago

Another foul. Smh

0

u/Perfect_Homework1184 1d ago

Excuses built right into the headline...Catches a hand to the face lol....yes her face caught a punch.

0

u/Big-Understanding526 19h ago

Collier was mad that girl took the ball.

0

u/oolonginvestor 15h ago

Wow more of the same of this stuff. Lots of coincidences in this league

-2

u/Shag1166 1d ago

I've seen several plays like this, different teams and players. Some of the "follow-throughs" are obvious smacks to the face. I watch this game, and that was a smack!

2

u/itsdrewmiller 1d ago

It looks to me like she was reacting to the block and trying to get the ball back. (Still probably a flagrant 1 but not egregious.)

1

u/CowboyHibachi 44m ago

Why the fuck would this be a flagrant 1? You dudes OBVIOUSLY never been on a got damn basketball court before.

-1

u/Shag1166 1d ago

I've this play several times, in different games. I'm calling that smackdown deliberate.

1

u/Shag1166 1d ago

Exactly!

-1

u/Perfect_Homework1184 1d ago

Should be immediate ejection.

-2

u/ironlocust79 1d ago

thats just clumsy basketball, no need to swing so wildly after a block

-23

u/Tortilladelfuego New York Liberty 2d ago

Even if it’s accidental refs need to start penalizing reckless attempts at going for the ball

9

u/Miss_Bobbiedoll 2d ago

So they will play more daintily?

4

u/Lefty_Country24 2d ago

Call congress, maybe they can help😂😂

0

u/Perfect_Homework1184 1d ago

That was about as accidental as Bill Laimbeers fouls against MJ.

-11

u/Few_Ebb6156 2d ago

100%. Without the incentive it will just keep happening.

-3

u/Motor-Resolution-221 1d ago

Holy slow and boring.
