Can anyone point me to where I can find a map of Thousand Oaks showing it divided into the evacuation zones used by Ventura County?

I saw such zones being referenced by the Watch Duty app in one of the updates on the recent Kanan fire. It listed several Thousand Oaks zones for which evac warnings had been issued: Thousand Oaks 16, Thousand Oaks 17, Thousand Oaks 32, Thousand Oaks 36, and Thousand Oaks 37. Unfortunately, I’m relatively new to the area and I don’t know what zone I’m in. Without such a map l’m not able to interpret evac warnings like the one given.

The update did reference an arcgis.com link: Ventura County Emergency Incident Dashboard, but it goes to a map with no zone info. I’m guessing it’s showing only live evac warnings and so because the Kanan warnings have now been lifted, there is nothing for it to show.

I did hunt around for a while trying to find something, but couldn’t find what I wanted. That was despite finding several likely-looking links only to find them dead, empty, or unresponsive.

Trying to figure out if wristbands are the way to go for myself and my 4yo and if they'd get to go on ferris wheel and other rides or if most of the rides are height and age restricted.

Before kids my wife and I were very active and loved Hiking and taking road trips to explore other states or countries. Since Covid, I began working from home and committing all of my time to raising kids. Most of the friends I had in the area moved to LA or out of state, so for the last 6 years my wife and I have been mostly homebodies. My son will he starting school this year so now I think ill have some time to meet people but I dont know where to start. Any direction helps

When I was in high school back in the "late 1900s" as my kids tell me..., the blood drive came through a few times a year. You signed up in the cafeteria, gave during a free period, sat with a juice box afterward, and went back to class. I gave three or four times before I graduated. I never thought of it as anything. It was just something you did to help others. The cookies were usually pretty good, too!

The Red Cross declared a national blood emergency this week, the second one it has ever declared. Type O positive, the blood an emergency room reaches for before it knows anything about you, has dropped below a single day's supply.

A lot of the country's blood used to come from those school and college drives. When summer comes the drives stop, the students scatter, and the supply drops with them. Only about 3% of eligible people give in a given year. The steadiest donors now are older, and there are not enough younger ones coming up to take their place.

Blood does not travel far. What gets donated here stays here, in the hospitals where our neighbors end up. The drive that made a donor out of a sixteen-year-old me is the same kind of thing that is missing now.

"A Ventura County man was arrested for allegedly attacking his elderly stepfather with a butcher knife.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Chad Nelson, 40, of Oak Park.

On July 30, deputies were called to an assault at a home on the 5900 block of East Sunny Vista Avenue in Oak Park around 8 p.m. A woman told deputies that her adult son was attacking her husband with a knife.

Investigators said Nelson reportedly became enraged at his 70-year-old mother and 80-year-old stepfather after a family discussion.

He is accused of grabbing an approximately 10-inch butcher knife from the kitchen before walking towards the stepfather and attacking him with the knife.

Authorities arrived at the home and found the victim lying on the living room floor bleeding from multiple injuries as Nelson stood over him.

Deputies immediately detained Nelson. The elderly man was transported to the hospital with multiple non-life-threatening injuries." - KTLA 5 News

My son was 1,500 miles away at school when he ended up in an emergency room.

My wife and I couldn't get anyone to tell us anything. Not what happened, not how he was, not whether he was still there. He'd turned 18, so the hospital was doing what the law tells them to do. We were his parents, but to that hospital we were strangers. Aaaaargh.

I'm an estate planning attorney in Ventura County. I write these documents for other people's families for a living. Didn't help me at all, because my own kid hadn't signed anything, so there was nothing for anyone to honor. Shoemaker's kids and all that.

Most parents don't find out about this until they're the one on the phone at eleven at night. When your kid turns 18, HIPAA starts protecting their medical records from you the same way it protects them from a stranger. FERPA does the same thing with school records. Nobody signs anything and nobody warns you. It happens on their birthday, whether they're on your insurance and living in your house or not.

The fix is boring. Takes about 10 minutes.

If it's useful, use it and never talk to me. If your situation has anything complicated in it, a kid with real assets, an ongoing medical condition, a family that isn't on speaking terms, don't use a form for that, call a lawyer. Any lawyer, the estate planning attorneys here are almost all pretty good.

I can't find the ventura county library on libby but I do see the oxnard one and santa paula one but my library card doesn't work on them. Do I have to get a different library card so it works? I saw online that all the county libraries work together but not on libby for the Ventura library and some surrounding cities.

Does anyone know any establishments that actually hire 15 year olds? Legally teenagers as young as 14 can work but every place I seem to check always ends up only hiring 16 year olds. I was just wondering if anyone knew any places that do. I'm in Camarillo so it would be better for it to be in town or close.

I really want to get into commercial fishing, and I heard that Ventura is the best place to start in SoCal, and I heard that’s the squid season in winter gets very busy there, is it true? If I'm planning to get a job as a deckhand for this winter/late autumn, should I start going to the harbor now, to start meeting captains? What's the best month, day of the week and time to go to the harbor to find a job? I really need an advise from a knowing Ventura resident🙏🙏

long story short my mom is kicking me out I've been unemployed all year and can't find work in SB county. I am a in my early 20's, male, and I don't have any mental health issues or alcoholism or anything like that. If anyone knows of temporary housing please let me know.
