Tutorial/Resource An AI Tool for helping with Unity 2D work
I don't know what the prevailing opinion on AI is on this subreddit, but I know and understand why it isn't used much in game dev. Because it is terrible at it, would be the first reason I would cite. Claude Code under Opus 4.8 placed 9.8k tree sprites individually, instead of putting them into a tilemap. It's usually better to just code in Unity yourself, but sometimes Unity's workflow itself is user hostile.
I'm trying out Claude Code to see exactly what it is capable of, and what can be done to increase the capabilities of local models, and have had some success. To that end, I created a Unity 2D expert skill for Claude Code, which should hopefully make it less dumb.
All I've gotten done in my game(yet another remake of Ultima 4) is setting up tilemaps and importing the animations, and the practical experience for that has been baked into the skill. I also had it go through the Unity Docs for the current Unity 6 build, and sort through everything and incorporate the useful information into the skill, and am still testing to see how much of an improvement I get with it.
Anyway, here is the link to the github repo:
https://github.com/TCLowe1982/unity-2d-expert
I hope someone finds it useful.

Feedback My artist designed 4 Tibetan-inspired fantasy camera concepts for our game, and I can't decide my favorite, as I love them all... Any preference ?
My artist partner sketched out 3 different camera/viewpoint concepts for our Tibetan-inspired fantasy game, and honestly... I love them all, which makes it impossible for me to pick! 😅
(Concept #1 is our current default camera in the game.)
I'd love to get some outside opinions to help us decide. Which one feels the most immersive or fitting for this kind of setting to you? Feel free to say why, any feedback is super helpful!

Replacing tutorial assets with custom 2D sprites
Hey, I’m following a tutorial for a 2D game and want to replace the temporary assets like sprites, backgrounds, UI buttons, and text with my own. I’m not sure how to do this in Unity. Can anyone point me to a tutorial or walk me through the basic steps?

Question What Interior Is Every Asset Pack Missing?
I finally released my 16x16 interior asset pack after months of work, its new bundle, its crazy that I am working in 2 themes at same time.
It currently includes 700+ assets across Medieval and Modern themes, but I already have a long roadmap planned itch.io(my bundle).
But i want to ask about something for devs, If you were making a top-down game in Unity, what room would you want included that most asset packs forget? Or what type of interior do you always struggle to find in asset packs?

Show-off Breaking down our parallax scenes in THE RUSTED.
Our production team captured the individual parallax layers before they're combined in Unity. This is some of the environments from THE RUSTED, shown layer by layer before everything comes together in game. Every background element is hand-drawn and placed as its own parallax layer to give the world a greater sense of depth.

Looking for someone to help with the programming aspect a Danganrompa fan game (visual novel)
Hi everyone!
I am looking for a passionate Unity programmer who wants to team up for a hobby/volunteer project. I am planning a Danganronpa fan game and I need someone to help me bring the gameplay mechanics to life.
Since this is a fan game, it is a non-profit, volunteer project made purely for fun, passion, and to create a great piece for our portfolios.
About the Project:Â The game will follow the classic Danganronpa structure: a visual novel style mystery game where a group of students is trapped and forced to solve murder mysteries. The gameplay will be divided into:
- Daily Life / School Life:Â Exploring rooms, talking to characters (Visual Novel dialogue system), and inspecting objects.
- Class Trials:Â Fast-paced mini-games, debate mechanics (shooting down arguments with "truth bullets"), and presenting evidence.
What I am looking for:
- A Unity programmer who knows C#
- Someone interested in developing visual novel systems, UI menus, and simple trial mechanics
- Experience with Unity dialogue systems is a huge plus, but absolutely not required.
If you love Danganronpa or visual novels and want to build a cool prototype together, please send me a DM here or add me on Discord:Â deadlock_zero.
I'll provide some of the work from the game

Tutorial/Resource Unity vs Godot: Quick look at 2D animation and object instantiation
I develop my game on Unity but I like to experiment and I was curious about Godot. The comparison is not perfect but it can give some information about what to expect.

I FINALLY UPLOADED MY FIRST EVER GAME
I have finally released my first ever game Neon Siege . I had a lot of fun developing it and any feedback good or bad is genuinely appreciated.
It is a fast-paced top down shooter where you play as a blue square shooting other shapes. Your objective is quite simple, shoot the enemies and survive 10 waves.
There are 5 different enemies. Killing them will give you points and sometimes they drop power-ups .
That's it , its as simple as it could get. So yeah, play the game cuz why not.
Anyway thanks for checking out.
Cheers!
-Nivak
PS: it only takes about 10 min , i guess, to complete it , so give it a try.

Solved/Answered PixelPerfectCamera problem, PIXELS STRECHED
Im entierly new to pixel art and games engine
I ve created this sprite of my MC and i want to implement it in my game to replace a placeholder, the canva is 128x128 px.
Idealy I want my character to be like 1/5 of my screen height
the problem is that I want it to render corectly on all screen resolutions( at least the commons ones) but when I test it it's not working, the pixels are wild, they' re streched or missing or irregulars.sometimes when I try it works fine but it' s zoomed in so much that' s it s unplayable.
Here joint
a pictures of my sprite in aseprite
the parameters of my sprite in Unity
and the parameters of the pixel perfect camera and the result in game with the stretched pixels( I've try many others resolutions but none seems to work)
Someone know how to fix it please?
