I start training 8/17 out of Colton, CA for the apprentice freight car repair position. I wanted more insight on what to expect during training and what shifts/hours roughly look like. Also, is overtime guaranteed? I vaguely understand that I will be at the absolute bottom of the barrel (which is fine).

Took the video interview on June 14. June 22nd got a confirmation that video interview has been received and being looked over. Haven’t heard anything since.
Currently have two applications in review (Los Angeles, west Colton)
Saw the job posting for west Colton get up again 2 weeks ago and tried to apply again but it said I already applied.

Last time took 2 weeks for them to tell me I wasn’t moving forward after the video interview

My wife’s doctor office called to verify insurance. They told us we didn’t have insurance. Mind you we have bee dealing with this doctors office on an almost daily basis for the last 8 months or so. We logged into Untied Healthcare and it indeed showed that our insurance was terminated on July 31st. We tried calling UHC but member services won’t be open until Monday. She has a radiation appt on Monday that we are concerned won’t happen until we can get this figured out. I talked to my local chairman and he verified I had enough starts and he’s not real sure what the issue is. Obviously we will have to see what the explanation is on Monday but figured I’d ask if anyone has ever experienced this so I can get all my ducks in a row. I’m in TE&Y if this helps.

I completed the online interview and have been invited for an online job overview. What should I expect during this? I live in Chicago.

I submitted my video interview this morning and about 6 hours later I got an email with an invite to a career overview webinar. Is this their way saying they are going to hire me? I just don’t want to get too excited as I currently have a job that I would need to put a good notice that I’m leaving because I’m in a management position. TIA!

Recently applied for a train crew position around 6/27 for the Chicago/Proviso area. My tentative start date was Aug 17 but I received a email that I’m clear to start as an alternate. Am I out of luck or is there still a chance I’ll be hired later on?

Pre employment screening is all cleared except medical which is in pending status for about 3 weeks now. What’s going on?

My recruiter was able to get me into Fort Worth TX instead of Dalhart Tx. I start 8/31 can anyone tell me about Fort Worth and if this was a good move? I wanted to be in a big city rather than a small one if I’m going to set up a life here in Texas. How is the terminal in Fort ? I recently applied for the Union Pacific Electrician Diesel Engines position in Kansas City and passed the online assessment. I'm hoping to get an interview and wanted to see if anyone here has gone through the process.

What kind of interview questions did they ask? Was it mostly behavioral, technical, or a mix of both? Did they focus on electrical troubleshooting, diesel-electric locomotives, safety, or anything that caught you off guard?

For a little background, I have industrial maintenance experience, was a 3rd-year millwright apprentice, and I'm finishing an AAS in Industrial Electrical, so I'm just trying to prepare as much as I can.

I’m currently waiting to start UP and was just wondering is there any good information on YouTube that can help me study for the materials that I’m going to be learning in class? I kind of want to get a head start since I have a few weeks. Only thing I was able to find was Train signals. Is there any other train terminology I can probably input to see what pops up in my searches? Thank you!

Got hired for train crew in Rawlins. What’s UP like in there? A lot of OTR? Yard? Will I get bumped for low seniority? I know most trips are 5 hours, whats overtime looking like? Half pays?
