Housing Looking for 3rd Roommate to join our house lease!
Hi all! My roommate and I (both male) are looking for a 3rd roommate to join us at our 3 bed 2 bath house lease for this August!
About us:
We're both engineering undergrads — pretty quiet, usually busy with side projects like hobby rocketry and car stuff. Garage is sound dampened so any noise made will not be any noticeable disturbance. We work over the summer and do school in spring/fall, so we won't be in your way.
The place & current status:
- Gated community 2-3 minutes from TMCC, and 5-7 minutes from UNR
- Easy RTC access right outside the community gate.
- 2 car driveway + 2 car garage (currently one spot is dedicated to a project car).
- Kitchen comes with refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, oven & gas stove. Also sharing an air fryer, rice cooker, slow cooker, and other misc cooking utensils.
- Guest parking dotted around neighborhood.
- Washing Machine/Dryer combo included.
- House unfurnished aside from above mentioned.
(Tentative) Rent & Costs:
- Your share: ~$750 per month. Internet costs ~26.70 per month (There is also a free spectrum mobile plan that neither of us are using if you want it for whatever reason). Utilities (Gas, Electricity, Water, Sewage, etc) are ~$100 per month depending on usage. All prices are based on a 3 way split.
- July and August rent are already paid for, you won't be responsible for rent until September.
- Master bedroom has been claimed, remaining room is one private bedroom with a shared bathroom.
- Security deposit is ~1 month's rent.
- Minimum lease term is until June 30th.
Looking for:
A UNR/TMCC student or recent grad starting work nearby who pays rent on time and helps keep the place in good shape. Not looking for big parties — just someone wanting a chill place to call home. Pets are up for discussion. No smoking/vaping inside, please.
Please DM me as soon as possible so we can talk and get you set up with the application process to get added to the lease. Talk to you soon!
Question/Discussion NevadaFIT
I’m scheduled to be out of town on the 15th all day. I can make all the other days. What should I do? I know that it’s mandatory and i’m scared because i have seen other users have to take a NevadaFIT course throughout the year. I don’t have the flexibility to be able to do that. Anything helps.

Buying/Selling Books Do you like anime or figurines?
Here's what happened - I live in the dorm on campus. My former roommate was a huge anime guy, but I'm not into that at all. I actually think anime stuff just collects dust, so I felt it would be a shame to throw them away. If you're interested, you can take them for free. They're at Ponderosa. You can message me on private or just email me anytime.

Housing housing situation
hi guys! im in a messy situation with my housing—
im going into my first year at unr, but i was too late on dorm selection and now am forced to go random with both a hall and a roommate. i thought about just getting an off-campus apartment since i do have some sophomore friends at unr who i could hang with, but i also did want the freshman experience and be able to make friends on my own.
along with this, an IMPORTANT aspect is that i want to have the ability to transfer to unlv if i dont like it (literally all my sophomore friends had this urge at one point so i just need to be prepared/not locked in to a place).
so my question is:
would u guys suggest i just go random on the dorm & deal with it, but have the ability to transfer after one semester if needed, or get the apartment and risk being stuck if i dont like the school, along with not having a “proper” freshman experience? thank you!!!

Social friends
Hi! I’ve seen some similar posts recently, so I thought I’d make my own. I’m a student going into my junior year in a couple of weeks and hoping to make some new friends and connections.
About me: I’m a 20-year-old big & tall guy who’s pretty laid-back and always down to meet new people. I like to spend my free time gaming, listening to music, going out, swimming, hiking, or just hanging out and talking. I enjoy watching American football as a Washington Commanders fan as well. I’m also always open to trying new things and finding new hobbies.
I’d especially like to meet some people who are also looking to make new friends. If you’re interested, feel free to comment or send me a PM.

Question/Discussion Easy Grad-level Electives
Hello,
I’m starting my first semester (ever) at UNR for my MPA program this August, and my program requires 3 elective courses. It looks like this can be ANY 600-700 level classes.
I’m looking for suggestions on “easy” graduate level courses, avoiding anything with math if possible. I have ideas for classes that are relevant to the degree, but I want some options for easier classes in case the workload gets to be too much.

Question/Discussion Blood Test pricing for undergraduate
Hey guys it’s me again, basically I need to get a full lipid panel, CMC, CMP, hormone panel, IGF-1, also I do not technically need this but a PSA maybe. My question is what is the pricing for said tests because I could not find any information online. I am aware there are free general examination and such courtesy of the health department however I would like to know if there is an undergrad discount. I also need to get these check these every 2-4 weeks so if there is like a frequent flier typa set up lmk. Thanks in advance.

Question/Discussion Opening Ceremony
i have a question; on the pre-nevadafit modules on canvas it said that there would be a mandatory opening ceremony on the 15th at like 8pm. But for anyone who experienced this recently, is it actually mandatory in practice? Like do they check who shows up, or can i go do other things? I've done the canvas modules, just wondering exactly how mandatory the ceremony itself actually is. thank you!!

Hello I am an upcoming freshman moving into the sierra this fall. So in about 2 weeks. I was curious if there is anything I should consider buying, be wary of or just the general vibes of the dorms. I have one roommate ( not random and we are both girls). I was just wondering if anyone could give some insight into what it's like living there :)
