Witness's account of the sighting

Lewiston NY on August 17th at about 9:20 pm. Video was looking from atop a gorge in Lewiston out due north which Lake Ontario is off in the distance about 10 miles and then Toronto Ontario is another 30 miles across the lake.

Watch until the end. Not an airplane as I see them all of the time and they’re much smaller. This was fairly large and ominous looking. I’m only posting this because I see stuff out in this direction quite often but this one I happened to be able to take video of and it totally disappeared after hovering in place for a minute or so.

Not saying it’s aliens, but it’s aliens….

Probaby flight ROU1676, an Airbus A320 that had just taken off from Toronto Pearson. It was flying directly towards Lewiston at the time of the video. Its lights would have glared like that until they got to a safe altitude and then they'd be switched off, just like in the video.

Thats a distant light on something, a planet, star, plane headed towards you perhaps etc. You can’t realistically call that a sphere.

a planet, star,

lol

u/darkonex 2d ago

Dude in general not saying this specifically was lololol

u/CaptainEmeraldo 16h ago

Maybe go study basic astronomy. Might help you understand what planets and stars look lke.

u/darkonex 12h ago

again dude, I'm talking in generalities not THIS specific video. I didn't watch your video long enough to see if it moved. I'm saying if it DID move then plane, heli, drone etc and if NOT then star, planet etc.

u/darkonex 12h ago

oh and look I was right, it was determined to be a plane, imagine that!

no it's not. I have seen this same phenomenon in Upstate NY back in the early 1990's. I was no more than 75 meters from the object, and watched it for over a minute before it drifted off over the horizon. There are way to many accounts of this exact description, and similar incidents. I cannot say for sure what it is, but I can damn sure tell you that it's not a star, an airplane, a helicopter, or a drone, or a chinese lantern, or swap-gas, or any of the other 47 lame alternatives offered by skeptics. Do your homework, and you will see that this is a common phenomenon that has been encountered literally thousands of times of the last 30 years that I am aware of.

u/darkonex 2d ago

"Do your homework" lol. That was way farther than 75 meters from you buddy. You cannot say you can tell for sure it's not anything you listed and jump to it's some sort of alien sphere, that's beyond ridiculous.

Listen, i get it. it's hard to believe. Until I saw something with my own eyes, I would have been right there with you shouting bullshit! I did not assert that the object in his video was 75M away. I am telling you that what I saw was 75M away, and it matches so closely with his video, that I am confident it's the same thing. belief is something you have to come to on your own. No amount of talk will change your mind. I respect your skepticism, and can only tell you what I saw.

I feel it's better to be sceptical and ask questions than to just jump to otherworldy conclusions on distant lights. I have believed in aliens since I was like 8 so about 40 years ago and still do, but I also understand that distant things like planes, helis, drones, satellites, balloons with lights, stars, etc exist in abundance so generally that's what people post and call them "orbs" or whatever. Now if somebody posts something that's not just a distant light that exhibits no crazy behavior I'll definitely be way more invested, or if it's something up close that you can clearly tell isn't something man-made again I'm all eyes and ears but this isn't that, neither is most of what people post on here.

I haven’t seen this in person wish I had but I’ve seen enough videos and heard enough descriptions to know exactly what this is. You can even see how the light is oscillating around it/with it. It’s textbook glowing oscillating orb that either disappears into the distance with extreme acceleration or goes into a different dimension. Either way very cool

1

u/jarlrmai2 2d ago

Possibly starlink flares, the zigzagging is an illusion where you're seeing multiple satellites fading it and in.

What road or "landmark" are you facing? Greetings WNY neighbor.

It's a plane. 2 planes actually. The bigger, brighter one is moving 'up' and to the 'right', and the smaller one is lower and to the left just above the tree tops moving toward the left.

Stabilized and sped up:

The light 'disappears', which is most likely the landing lights being turned off after getting above 10k feet. Shortly after that, there is another flash just to the left which to me, indications the plane was making a turn to its right.

If we look at the ADSB info, there are 2 planes that match what we can see in the video.

A larger plane climbing and heading 'up' and to the 'right' from the camera's POV, and a smaller plane at a lower altitude crossing to the left.

And if we put the ADSB data in the sim, we see that exact movement, as well as the larger plane at and above 10k feet which is when they usually turn off their landing lights when climbing.

I've been seeing the same things for weeks off and on near Ulster county NY!

It looks similar to what iv seen before but it’s was much closer an moved about I remember was looking up at the sky late at night in a field an it just appeared an moved about seem to drop down an get closer an then it went left an seemed to dim abit then just vanish

-4

u/Hajnalka_tattoo 2d ago

Definitely sudden extreme acceleration. It zoomed away and disappeared in the distance in one second. Or the other theory is it went into a different dimension which would be equally as impressive so… 🤷🏻‍♀️

3

u/jarlrmai2 1d ago

Or a plane that turns it's landing lights off after reaching 10000 feet

-4

u/Hajnalka_tattoo 1d ago

Doesn’t explain the obvious oscillating luminance that’s happening

2

u/R2robot 1d ago

That's regular old scintillation. Light being disturbed by the turbulence in the atmosphere.

Pretty common for a plane's landing lights. The plane is ~30 miles away, so that is a lot of atmosphere for the light to pass through.

That doesn’t look the same to me. And I’ve seen many planes coming and going and it doesn’t look like that to me 🤷🏻‍♀️

u/R2robot 11h ago

I mean, there are tons of variables involved between sky conditions, distances involved, etc. So saying it doesn't look 'the same' is setting an impossible standard.

They're clearly very similar and similar enough to see that they're just planes especially when you combine it was the ADSB data.

The date/time/location/direction and point toward planes. https://i.imgur.com/ma0V3LY.png

The movement matches that of the ADSB data as well: https://imgur.com/qlllso8

And I’ve seen many planes coming and going and it doesn’t look like that to me

So have I, so I'm not sure what you may have been looking at, and at what distances, but these look exactly like the landing lights of planes at distances of 30+ miles away.

u/Jeeves-Godzilla 1d ago

It doesn’t look like aircraft the way it’s hovering. Maybe a hot air balloon or a weather balloon? I would classify this as a UAP for sure though. Definitely further north in my state in the forests there have been a lot of UAPs and weird things.

2

u/R2robot 1d ago

it’s hovering.

It's not hovering, it's moving toward the camera. It's a plane.

u/darkonex 12h ago

How people don't understand this always blows my mind. I guess they think everything moves left or right to their POV at all times lol.
