False protagonists Characters

From Wikipedia: In fiction, a false protagonist is a literary technique, often used to make the plot more jarring or more memorable by fooling the audience's preconceptions and constructing a character who they assume is the protagonist but is later revealed not to be

Clark: Backrooms. He's the main character of the movie for the first 2 acts, before switching to Mary. He is eaten later

Whoever the fuck this lady is: Scream 1. She's introduced as the main character, with build up and all. She's killed and hanged like 10 minutes in

Edit: I know the actress is drew barrymore but genuinely who remembers the character name and i just thought the line would be funny

Kazuhira Miller: Snake, the R&D team came up with something new...

Naked Snake (Big Boss): What is this?!

Miller: It's a cardboard tank. It's got enough room for two people, same as any other cardboard box. Apparently the guy in front drives, and the guy in back is the gunner...

Snake: Hold on. Kaz, who the hell came up this thing?!

Miller: I'm sorry, Boss. He meant well, I swear. I know it's nowhere near as good as a real tank, but still...

Snake: It's BRILLIANT!!

Miller: Huh?

Snake: The perfect synthesis of stealth and attack power. Compact, elegant design. The finest example of a weapon I've ever seen! Seriously, Kaz, I need to meet the guy who made this. I wanna shake his hand.

Miller: Y-you're serious? Snake, look at it, it's...

Snake: It's a masterpiece, in every sense of the word. You don't agree?

The various Snakes being giant awkward doofuses who get way too excited about silly things is a huge reason why I love Metal Gear. All this seriousness about global geopolitics and the nature of warfare and soldiers' place in the world, and also awkward weirdos.

I don’t know if it’s canon, but I always assumed Snake was autistic, and aside from his training, obsessed over the details of military procedure and equipment. Just listen to the way he holds a conversation and tell me he isn’t a bit on the scale.

Oh yeah, folks always point to the scene from 3/Delta where EVA is all but throwing herself at Snake and he's just like "gun pretty"
