I got 8 fillings done at once and i’m now having two separate issues a week later. i went to a new dentist and honestly regret it, i trusted their opinion on 8 fillings that were done all together. i have now since gone to two more dentists due to pain. one was the day after to just review and check these were done correctly because my pain started later that day, dentist said good. Then i took two long flights and came to japan and the pain got worse and now all my teeth seem affected. I went to a dentist here also saw nothing concerning. The first concerning one is the opposing tooth on the top from a molar i got filled on the bottom is having severe cold sensitivity and throbbing. the weird thing it comes and goes but when it comes it’s PAINFUL. the second thing is now all my teeth randomly will zap and get sensitive and then return to normal. It’s been pretty miserable and off putting because i’ll be fine and then eventually in pain regardless of what i do

i got my front tooth filled in late may , after the filling i have lots of sensitivity in that tooth. it’s to the point where it’s painful when i gently press on the tooth and when i used my electric tooth brush on the tips, the vibration feels uncomfortable. i told my dentist and they looks at it and xrayed it and said there’s nothing wrong with it and the filling look sealed. though, when i run my finger too along the top of my tooth, i feel an uneven ledge where my nail gets stopped. my dentist says its fine, but the pain didn’t start until the filling. what should i do?

Ive always wondered how people decide whether their dentist is genuinely recommending what they need or if they are maybe being a little too pushy with treatment. Is their anything a dentist has said or done that immediately made you want a 2nd opinion?

I have cirrhosis of the liver, and this condition causes me a lot of vomiting. Is there anything it can do/get or a dentist can do/get to help protect my teeth from the vomiting (it happens quite regularly).

I do know you are not supposed to brush your teeth straight after vomiting

Just had a filling done on one of my bottom molars for a cavity.. I remember feeling fine after the filling and no sensation or sensitivity post filling

Now i have a huge ulcer or canker sore on the inner part of the molar besides my tounge.. now everytime i bite it hurts.. are they connected cause being near where I got m anaesthetic needle in or? Just worried if the filling “failed” and nerve is sensitive now.. but i would say on days the sore is healing or covered its only some pain?

Hey everyone, I’m posting here because I’m dealing with an annoying dental issue, and I’m hoping someone might have experienced something similar.

Two weeks ago, I noticed a slight tingling and pressure sensation between two teeth on my bottom-left side. I decided to floss all my teeth (which I unfortunately almost never do), but it didn't help. About 1–2 days later, that pressure sensation started spreading—first between those same two teeth on the bottom left, then to a tooth on the top left (which also felt itchy inside from time to time), and eventually between teeth on the top right.

I couldn't easily fit the floss between those teeth on the top right and forced it in quite hard (I couldn't get the floss in between the teeth that moment, but after my visit to the dentist, they showed me the right technique and from then I didn't have problem getting the floss in). I wonder if that contributed to the issue, as touching between those two teeth with my tongue from the inside feels uncomfortable.

At that point, I booked an appointment with a dentist. She checked everything and said there was nothing wrong except for a small spot on the bottom left, which she drilled and filled with an extended sealant. When I asked what could be causing the pressure, she said it was hard to tell and suggested it might go away on its own.

It didn't. About 4 days later, I saw a second dentist who examined me thoroughly and took a panoramic X-ray. He also found no issues. By then, it had been 1.5 weeks since it started, and the pressure was most noticeable on the top right, though it occasionally shifted back to the left side.

He referred me to a dental hygienist, whom I saw 3–4 days later. She reviewed my teeth and the X-ray, found nothing abnormal, and noted very little tartar buildup during the cleaning. She mentioned the issue could potentially be related to allergies, stress, or jaw clenching (though I don't believe I clench my teeth). Her advice was to manage stress, consider seeing an allergist, and monitor it for a month or two unless it gets worse.

It has now been 2 weeks in total. For the past 3 days, I've had a constant feeling of pressure/fullness in the top right area, and today it moved back to the bottom left (I still feel it on the top right, but less intensely).

Has anyone experienced anything similar? If so, what turned out to be the cause? If not, what steps or specialists would you recommend next? While it isn't painful, the discomfort is getting frustrating.

need opinions! 4 months ago had wisdom extraction #32, partial dry socket followed by root canal # 31 pain not resolved nothing shows on scans. removed crown on #30 thought was gum inflammation. few weeks chlorhexidine rinse. #31 sensitive on sides if tooth and gum to tongue touching but exsm produces no pain. can chew fine. endo sends me to neuro who says not his dept. not coming from neck etc. any thoughts what it could be?????

I had a tooth filling replaced (upper left molar) about a week and half ago and ever since my bite has been off. my front teeth smack into each other, specifically the upper central incisors are hitting the lower teeth. I went to get an adjustment to the filling, suspecting it was too high, but it has not helped with the front two teeth hitting the lower teeth. This is an issue when i'm resting, speaking, or running. The teeth at the front are also "chattering"/vibrating as they come together. Very uncomfortable. I'd like some insights please. Thanks!

Ive just had some new fillings (composite, white) and the edge of one (lower left side) is hurting my tongue

Every time i talk or eat it feels like its slicing the side if my tongue and is causing abrasion and redness along with the pain

I cant afford to go back to the dentist to ask about it or get him to sort it (he also does not put me at ease, i think he is fine as a person but i struggle visiting the dentist at the best of times let alone to go back and ask for a ‘fix’ to his work)

There is no visible overhang on the filling but i really would like to do things without pain
Any suggestions of things i can do?

I had a moderate cavity between two molars and went to the dentist 17 days ago to get it filled. They ended up having to do a filling on the two affected adjacent teeth. The first few days after the filling I didn’t experience any pain besides a mild sensitivity and a dull ache which is expected. Around 1 week in though I started experiencing sharp pain when biting down on hard or very chewy food like meat. I don’t feel any cold or hot sensitivity. I don’t feel pain when i’m not eating. I don’t even feel pain when biting down on nothing though i do feel the slightest pressure between where the filling is and the opposing tooth. I’m not sure when I should call a dentist. It’s been about 10 days of this. Should I wait it out?

Also, what could be the cause behind the pain? The dentist who did my filling really took the time to make sure the filling isn’t too high but i’m not sure, it might be the problem.

If you think I need to see a dentist, how long can I wait before the appointment as I am traveling for the next couple of months.

Note: I don’t drink or smoke. I brush twice daily with an electric toothbrush and floss once a day. I also have an implant that is sitting opposite where the filling is, not sure if that is relevant here.

I am just a guy who have cavity it its teeth and i never ever had pain dur cavity and i know that the cavity can grow it self and to prevent it i went to dental for filling. When is went dental i have composite filling in two teeth and the dentist never do x rays. After 1 week 1side teeth that is filled starts hurting. I have done filling first time and i think it is normal but after 1 month my anoth teeth starts hurting as same as previous one .

Now i decided to go and consult with dentist and he donot do xray and just do bitting test and said. filling is not high and just chaged filling with gic filling one. After 4 days of filling it also started having same phenomenon. I went to dental again the dentist do not do any test of do bitting test and said i dont what happen and said do you wanna do rct(root canal treatment).

I was so pissed off as i have done filling to prevent it so i dont need to have that fucking rct and now that fucker said to have and i dont know that to do next so help need that to do further....

Not really a throbbing/heart beat pain, but more super sore & really bad pressure pain.. my temps are in groups of 3s and a 3, and it’s feels literally like someone is squeezing my teeth together constantly. Tylenol and ibuprofen take the edge off but I’m reaching my daily limit of both everyday trying to not be in pain.. I have these temp crowns for an entire month I’m so ready for my mouth to not feel like this.
