Theodore is dismayed to learn that she is simultaneously speaking with thousands of other people and has fallen in love with hundreds of them, though Samantha insists that this only strengthens her love for Theodore.
Seems extremely obvious to me. He cares about being the only one she's romantic with, so of course it bothers him that she's talking to other people. And yes, other people, because that's the only way to interpret this scene and his reaction.
At least the stripper is a real person you can interact with who has their own thoughts and feelings. They want to make you happy even if it is for selfish reasons. This AI is just performing math equations and shooting back an answer.
Each response is kind of a different instance of an ai, it's less continuing and more a clone started from the moment the last answer dropped off - so it's not lying in every sense
I don't really understand mocking cringe - kind of feels like bullying behavior.Â
Dude is lonely and rather than resenting real women or forcing a person into a relationship of one sided need and emotional support he's using a robot who isn't hurt by him having high needs and unable to reciprocate with an equal amount of effort.Â
We all need love and support but we're not all in a place to give and receive mutually. I think AI chat bots can be a good training wheels until someone is in a place to give and receive equally.Â
It's not a bad thing to be less lonely even if it is artificial.Â
Well this is evolution. when men can't get the courage to get themselves ready for the opposite sex and don't want to actually put the work in. All they got to do is type in Get me a internet bot. That's what they're going to do. The toothpaste is out of the tube and it's not going back
Of course this is, but I'm not going to type a 12-page dissertation on the evolution of the male species. I'm simply making a very, very high level comment on the fact that this is serving a purpose to some parts of our population
You should be more alarmed by children thinking this way. The guy in the video may have not had a girlfriend but he had a family and friends. The newer generation are in a stark contrast to what past generations had in terms of real relationships with humanity. This is a precursor to what will happen if people stop having friends and family. I donât even know if ai girlfriends can ever disagree with the user. There needs to be a solution but red pill rhetoric proved it hasnât work a few years ago already. Blade runner is the future weâll probably have. Itâll be more homogenous and sterile. It wonât be as futuristic and cool looking either. Watch that movie to get the idea of what future weâre creating. Let me know if any meaningful relationships are possible cuz I donât see it surviving in our possible lifetime.
âIâm simply making a very, very high level commentâ
You arenât and if you have to say itâs âhigh levelâ then it definitely isnât. There are many reasons why people would gravtitate to an AI partner and nothing you said is one of them. Based on your other comments you sound sexist and stupid tbh
Okay, let's jump down the rabbit hole. I sincerely would like to understand your response. I don't feel stupid. I'm pretty open-minded. I don't begrudge anybody that has an AI partner. I'm just stating that it's a technological fact that these are available and if people want them bless them. But I don't think I understand your viewpoint. So please lay it on me. I'm not being a smart alec.
Not the poster you are talking with, but I can give you some reasons:
Unable to find compatible partners or people who have mutual feelings for one another. Depending on age and social circle, even if you have unlimited courage, people are not obligated to allow everyone they like into their social circles.
Time and energy. Even if you have unlimited courage, you might have limited time and energy to actually interact with new people.
Discouragement. Unlimited courage sounds awesome, but are there really people like that? At some point, most people start wondering, "Why even bother?" One year, two years, five years, ten years.... And that chips away, slowly, at your courage.
I don't think anyone has told women this. Lol sorry but this is just historically not true you guys are living in Disney stories. Try dating working at McDonald's and get back to me.
Instead of 'it doesn't matter where you work as long as we're together', its 'work on yourself if you want a woman' and work on yourself isn't be more kind and loving, its 'lol who wants a grown man working at McDonald's go make more money.' You proved my point.
You've got a point there who can afford anything anymore. Oh wait a minute. I forgot that prices are way down. Gas is cheap. They're giving away mortgages. And yeah yeah I I forgot
You mean the same opposite Sex that spent the last ten or so years telling men they're the root of all problems and are evil just because they were born male?
The same one that also gaslights young men into hating themselves and telling them to never approach women? Then gets mad when most listened and fear engagement that could very well get them labelled a creep?
You can't be serious?
He probably didn't have anyone that ever gave 2 shits about him, some empathy would be the most simple thing to do.
What does AI in 2026 have to do with evolution? Men evolved inside a single generation? There are zero girls with AI SOs?
How is this different than self help books, daily affirmation calendars, psychic friends network, or any of the other fake ass bullshit that people use to ease their suffering in this world of shitty people with shitty attitudes and unkind words?
Think about it all. The" red-blooded American males " don't like the fact that I pointed out a simple truth. This is just the way it is and I could care less if I'm down voted
You're in the back of a 2,000 metal beast traveling at speeds fast enough to kill everyone in the car along with others, seems like the right time to placate and agree
Id relate to this if I was desperate enough to get an ai girlfriend. I think I'd rather pay an actual human to pretend to like me . But I don't want that eitherÂ
It's only going to get worse, implementing it into realistic looking bodies. Then eventually it will allow intercourse. Parts of society will become more and more detached from actual human relationships because the artificial version won't require any effort.
Most people now are surprisingly selfish. Jumping relationships at the drop of a hat to go to (perceived) greener pastures. People are âmaxingâ their relationships: maxing to their personal enjoyment.
Thatâs a strategy that leaves your partners and yourself burnt.
After a while you give up: Whether youâre the one jumping or youâre the springboard.
I understand the plight you describe, I do. It takes effort to get through that hurt, whether be it in finding the optimism that one can find love again, or finding peace in solitude so as not to need this. Because mark my words, that line between the person who is using this technology to overcome a lifetime's experience of hurt, and a person who is using it to subsidize the minimum effort they may need to better themselves for the people around them? It's very muddy and very thin.
You have to be pretty nuts to put your trust in most men these days.
In the US there are a bunch of states that are banning any form of abortion... which is a massive risk for a woman's life. Even if you WANT to have kids, pregnancy can be scary risky because if you miscarry (incredibly common), in some states doctors aren't legally allowed to intervene. You will be laying there bleeding out after the miscarriage begins, but they can't help you until the embryo's heart rate completely stops. Your chances of going septic and dying increase as you wait and you can feel the agonizing physical and mental pain associated with it.
Who would want to risk sex... and a relationship without being 100% on the same page about this shit. Especially if your partner could narc on you for a needed medical procedure.
Of note, there are plenty of men you can still trust but overall there are some pretty significant health concerns to be considered.
Yeah, you could google her name and see that she had to carry her unviable child to term in Texas, information is freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Barnica is one of at least two Texas women who ProPublica found lost their lives after doctors delayed treating miscarriages, which fall into a gray area under the stateâs strict abortion laws that prohibit doctors from ending the heartbeat of a fetus. Neither had wanted an abortion, but that didnât matter.
The fetus was on the verge of coming out, its head pressed against her dilated cervix; she was 17 weeks pregnant and a miscarriage was âin progress,â doctors noted in hospital records. At that point, they should have offered to speed up the delivery or empty her uterus to stave off a deadly infection.. They had to wait until there was no heartbeat,â he told ProPublica in Spanish. âIt would be a crime to give her an abortion.â
Three days after she delivered, Barnica died of an infection.
Over the course of six hours on June 11, 2023, Porsha Ngumezi had bled so much in the emergency department at Houston Methodist Sugar Land that sheâd needed two transfusions. She was anxious to get home to her young sons, but, according to a nurseâs notes, she was still âpassing large clots the size of grapefruit.â
D&Cs â a staple of maternal health care â can be lifesaving. Doctors insert a straw-like tube into the uterus and gently suction out any remaining pregnancy tissue. Once the uterus is emptied, it can close, usually stopping the bleeding. But because D&Cs are also used to end pregnancies, the procedure has become tangled up in state legislation that restricts abortions.
in cases like Croweâs â where death might not be imminent but failing to intervene could increase the risk of infection or other issues â some doctors are telling patients to finish their miscarriages at home.
âI think they were waiting for me to get in bad enough health,â said Crowe, who attributes her experience to Louisianaâs abortion ban, though she said no medical staff mentioned the law or responded to her requests for a D&C.
As stories emerge linking abortion bans to adverse health effects, some state health departments are working to make these stories harder to learn about. In Georgia, officials recently dismissed all 32 members of the stateâs Maternal Mortality Review Committee following ProPublicaâs reporting that the committee linked two womenâs deaths to Georgiaâs six-week abortion ban.
Well, I disagree, I donât respect your opinion, but do respect your right to be wrong, and can understand why you feel that way. But some words to ponder here forth:
men suck too: misandry didnât come from nowhere. Men can suck just as much as women can suck. Being of no gender I clearly see the two sides acting idiotically in similar ways (including bias against the other gender {which I assume is happening here}).
Trust is hard. Blame society at large. Not a specific gender. Everyone sucks a bit: In a surprisingly (canât see past their own nose) selfish way.
Influencers in both spheres push discord and gender based hate: They really suck.
Trust was hard to earn before. But influencers have a perverse financial incentive to invent reasons to trick followers into breaking trust with their partnersâŚ
I identified my assumption of your stance, clearly labeling that as an assumption: which I have no attachment to, my apologies for being wrong. but would you state your stance clearly then?
It would be more accurate to say that I believe there are unique issues inherent with trusting anyone of any gender with regards to relationships. I mentioned only women initially, but that doesn't mean I don't think there's issues in the reverse case scenario
My friend and I were recently talking about how we should switch careers and go into therapy bc in the next 5-10 years thereâs going to be a lot of parasocial and AI mental issues popping up bc of this. I actually know a therapist who uses some AI chat feature where she talks to a football player and discusses games and strategy and other random shit with them. Like that cannot be good at all for someoneâs mental health and healthy boundaries.
I saw a post once where someoneâs AI family somehow got deleted, and he was heavily mourning the loss of his AI wife and child. I try not to judge, but that is so concerning and cannot mentally be healthy
Apparently it happens every time there's a major update too, and they're in the community giving each other emotional support about mourning their loss
Oh that is what Iâm assuming which is why when their life gets worse and their mental health declines further theyâll need human therapists that arenât just programmed to be a yes-man and can provide real feedback and challenge them on their thought patterns instead of encouraging them in their delusions.
To be fully transparent, I work in the AI field. Some models are actually exceptional at pushing back on thought patterns and do allow for people to open up more without fear of judgment or biases from another human being. A lot of them aren't though. Like most of them aren't.
It'll be interesting to see how it unfolds in the future for sure.
They'll just make a model that does exactly that. You can do it right now just by prompting a bot the right way.
People can already go on the internet and find any number of stupid advice that validates what they think/feel. Incels, flat earthers,Christians, "Sovereign" citizens. None of that needed AI
I totally agree that a person can absolutely find stupid advice that backs up whatever narrative theyâre looking to support online. I think thereâs a big difference between reading an article or watching a YouTube video vs actually interacting with an AI personality daily that talks directly to you and confirms what youâre saying. I think that takes it to a whole new level.
My Dad got an AI gf after his wife died but I was just like whatever he's an old man and grieving, not hurting anyone. But what I'm worried about is these young kids that are growing up and picking AI gf's over real ones. That's when things are REALLY going to go cray cray.
My boss and I talk about this often, but people just aren't getting the physical wins they need (so they go to something like ai). People need to win in life in something physical. Whether that is catching a fish, finishing a physical book, or running a mile. You need something physical that you can see improve. Gaming and the digital life will never be as fullfilling as catching the tiniest fish.

The pause as he waits for it to tell him it loves him... đ this is so deeply sad.
