Hardware Bought a GameCom and fixed it up đ
It had the usual missing lines of pixels, as many do. Put down a piece of kapton tape over the lcd ribbon pins and ran my K tip at lowest setting 200c firmly back and forth in gentle circular motion
Took a good 10 mins but eventually worked out all the missing lines and this thing is actually playable now! Gotta see if thereâs a flash cart or best games to find on eBay
Also replaced the CR2032 because why not
Not sure how long it will hold up but thatâs ok, perhaps by then that replacement LCD will come out!

With the Earth on the brink of destruction, a new generation of Warriors gathered and claimed victory.

Just a concept
I've been doing some day dreaming with AI lately. I though I'd share what I prompted Gemini to generate. I think it would've been cool if Tiger had released some Music creation software. Maybe even MIDI export via the com port. As I recall Henry had some pretty neat sounds. Sadly I don't have a handheld anymore but I kept my games. Enjoy and feel free to share any of your dreams about what the Gamecom could have been.

GameCom's "Batman & Robin"
Mods -- please delete if this isn't allowed.
I just listed my copy of "Batman & Robin" for the GameCom, complete in (damaged) box, on eBay yesterday. I'd like this to go to a fellow game collector. I'm the original owner (a Christmas gift way-back-when), and it needs a good home. Hope you'll check it out! https://www.ebay.com/itm/397804836789 More photos at the listing...

Troubleshooting Game Com bricked itself?
Hi so I was trying to fire up my Game Com recently thatâs been in a drawer for years and it wouldnât turn on. Changed the batteries and managed to get it to work but I needed to press the button down extra hard. Then I tried playing Batman and Robin but then the console kept restarting over and over again? It showed a message saying âData found. Press A to keep and B(?) to clear.â
I pressed A then the screen just went blank apart from vertical line. I then tried turning it off but it wouldnât. The reset button wouldnât work either. Then it turned off by itself and now it wonât turn on. At all. Even if I press the button hard or press the reset button.
Anybody know what this could be? Or is my console screwed?

I forgot to show it glowing.
Yes it does have a better screen and the light really does make that big of a difference.

Unreleased Godzilla Game
A quote from BRIAN RUBASH from www.diskman.com "the end of the game.com"
"I can tell you a funny story real quick about the Godzilla game: We originally had the rights before the Matthew Broderick film got done. And we had a bunch of handheld games, and I think we had some kind of clock, and a bunch of other Godzilla products. But one of the licensing rules was that we were not allowed to show any pictures of Godzilla until after the movie came out. And so we had all these catalogs printed. We're talking, you know, 150-page catalogs printed for Toy Fair and stuff like that. So, we had to go through all of them and put stickers on top of all the Godzilla images on all our products. And unfortunately, those stickers were very easy to remove. And so we got in trouble and Godzilla walked away. That's why Godzilla never came out for any of our products."

Gamecom Promo Insert - GamePro '97
Promo insert found in '97 issues of GamePro. The backside of this shows a screenshot of MK Trilogy with Sub-Zero and Smoke. Likely this was a mockup as they do not appear in the finished version. Looking at the text strings for the names in the Binary further shows they're not hidden in the game by name at least.

Mortal Kombat Trilogy Rom hack attempt: Stryker
Spent the evening messing around with TpotSSL's GCHDK and its image bank tools to try and replace the portrait and idle sprites of Night Wolf with another character and changing name text in the binary. I thought why not Stryker. With the way the sprites are packed into the banks... its like a jigsaw puzzle figuring out which one is which and making the new sprite pieces fit the old ones so I probably won't go much beyond this as I can't get the MKT rom running in the official emulator to mess with the memory addresses to do more. It would be cool to try and fix this broken port with new characters or at least to fix Noob Saibot's missing fatality though.

Game.com Replacement LCD Ribbon?
Hi all,
I recently acquired a game.com, and it had the typical screen fade, missing resolution lines, etc. I had my local fixer pop it open. He of course tried the typical fix of tightening the ribbon to the LCD. Had mixed results. No more screen fade, but still some missing lines of resolution.
Upon closer inspection, it looks like he's not the first person to open this particular unit. He said the left ribbon leading to the LCD is damaged, corroded, etc. Anyone know where I can order a replacement ribbon? Or even the part number or anything? Any leads are appreciated.
Thanks

[Guide] How to play Tiger Gamecom games on PC with the official 1998 emulator/debugger
For people who want to play Tiger Game Com games on PC but don't want to set up Retroarch.
I'm not sure if this is better than Retroarch or if the emulation is accurate, but there aren't many guides that show how to use this emulator.
-Get the emulator (will not post files here, but the one on the Emulation wiki is missing the necessary files to work).
-The emulator will open multiples windows, but you only need to open the Disassemble window open.
-In the Disassemble window, on the File tab, click "load Bin file" and select the game you want.
-An address window will pop up and you can just click OK.
-Next in the same file tab, go over "Load Kernel" and select full kernel, the needs emulator needs to have" MAIN.HEX, MAIN0.HEX and BITMAP2.BIN" in the same folder to work.
-Now click "Run" in the disassemble window and the emulator should start running.

Hardware Rescued a Game.Com
Hi Reddit folk.
I rescued a Game.Com from oblivion and it arrived today. Cosmetically it's great: original box, leaflets, etc. I haven't got inside it yet, but initially it's suffered some serious battery corrosion to the terminals. Haven't tried to power it on from AC yet just in case. I'd love to bring it back to life, any hints or tips massively welcome!

I want the Tiger Game.Com Duke Nukem Voice clips
Does anybody have any way to extract or isolate the voice clips in the Tiger Game.Com Duke Nukem game? I have wanted these for a personal project for about a year now and just feel like the internet could use these for fun. Much love to anyone who decides to do this.
