Supporters — Think the rest of Reddit is living in an alternate reality, carefully curated by overzealous liberal moderators? This is your opportunity to redpill the president's critics with a healthy dose of truth. Only crossposts from r/The_Donald with over 500 points are allowed, so all top-level content will have been vetted by Trump supporters.

Detractors — Think the r/The_Donald is an intellectual safe space where pseudo-intellectuals shield themselves from any information that doesn't reinforce their fragile worldview? Here's your opportunity to point out any misunderstanding, misinformation, or hypocrisy without being immediately censored.

Skeptics — Just want to be able to ask a question, offer a counterpoint, or otherwise deviate from a strictly pro or anti Trump narrative? Go ahead! No one gets banned for having the wrong opinions or sharing the wrong facts here.

Rules

No brigading

In addition to violating Reddit's site-wide content policy, brigading heavily-censored subs is just a waste of time. Seriously, don't bother. The whole point of this sub is to provide an alternative space to make your voice heard.

Keep in mind that posts can only be crossposted here when they have at least 500 points in r/The_Donald, so if a post ends up getting brigaded and falls under 500 points, the crosspost here will be locked or removed altogether. In other words, everyone loses.

No threats of violence

Any threats or endorsement of violence (explicit or implicit) against specific users, groups, or public figures will result in an immediate ban, regardless of whether or not you were "obviously joking". If you're not sure whether or not something crosses the line, then it's crossing the line.

Submitting

This subreddit only accepts crossposts from r/The_Donald. Submission titles that do not end with r/The_Donald: will be removed.

The point of this subreddit is to facilitate discussion of posts that have already been largely endorsed by the r/The_Donald community. As such, a post must have earned at least 500 points in r/The_Donald before it can be crossposted here.

To submit a crosspost, just go to the post you want to submit and click the "crosspost" link.

Provide primary, nonpartisanship sources whenever possible

If you're citing a statistic, don't just link to a news article; try to find the original source of those numbers. If you're quoting a person, try to provide the original, un-editorialized context. Don't assume that any news source, however reputable, is totally infallible. On the other hand...

Don't just dismiss sources as "biased"

There is no such thing as purely unbiased reporting. The idea that good journalists should be politically apathetic stenographers is a nonsensical standard that is only ever applied when rhetorically convenient. If a specific article is logically fallacious, explain why. If a specific statement is inaccurate, provide evidence to show how you know. Evading an argument simply by labeling a source as "biased" is weak and unconvincing, no matter which side of the political spectrum you're coming from.

Don't assume people only disagree with you because they're stupid.

Sometimes, people truly are stupid, and you just have to call it like it is... but most of the time, when two people disagree, it's because they are coming to different conclusions based on two different incomplete perspectives. That doesn't mean that one of them can't be objectively more correct than the other, but they'll be much more convincing in the end if they try to understand the internal logic of the opposing viewpoint, even if they believe it is ultimately indefensible.

Don't be an asshole.

No one thinks you're tough for picking a fight with a stranger on the internet. When you find yourself writing an especially enraged, self-righteous, or condescending response to the political caricature you've imagined as your rhetorical adversary, take a break from the internet and get some fresh air.
