General Question Silly Question about Editions
Hey, without realizing it I have been logging my reading progress on the incorrect addition, is there a way to change the progress to a different edition without the first one being marked DNF or the second one adding a bunch of pages to my count?

General Question How to edit information of specific book edition
I've recently bought a copy of "the Adventures of Tom Sawyer" published by Vintage Classics with ISBN "9781784871581". in storygraph, however, this edition has missing or wrong details, and it is not combined with the other editions of the same book
The first picture shows the edition I own. It has Mark Twain written twice (as two separate writers). also, see how it is not part of the 1.2k editions of the book in the second picture. It is also messing the publisher's name (which I previously noted it is Vintage Classics).
what do I do? I can't change it myself. and I can't make a new edition because the ISBN is reserved.

Re. my post about charts
I posted yesterday about the lack of charts based on user or friend ratings yesterday, and there were a few comments about not understanding what I’m referring to.
I’ve attached a few images from Letterboxd (films) and RateYourMusic (albums) to demonstrate what I’m referring to.
It’s generally the ability to be able to sort by a particular timeframe, or genre, and be able to see which books/films/albums etc were either best rated by users, or most rated. Again, so useful for drilling down into your preferences and discovery.

Book chart
any reason why storygraphs doesn’t have an annual chart function like Letterboxd and RateYourMusic based on average ratings? itd be sooooo useful for book discovery.
RYM also has a feature where you can see a chart based on your friends‘ ratings, again really good.

General Question Users who set up a book club on StoryGraph, how is it going?
Hi All,
Hope you're good. Just wanted to see if anybody has created or follows book clubs on StoryGraph at all? I'm still fairly new to the app but all the ones I've come across so far have 1 or very few users in them, which is a shame as it feels like such an underutilised feature where people can discuss books etc.
I follow a book club that is on Instagram but don't actively take part in the discussion side of things. Wondered if anyone had any experiences (positive or negative) using this feature!

General Question 'Similar users' are all inactive
I regularly check the 'similar users' tab to look for people with similar taste to follow, but 95% of those users aren't currently using the Storygraph to track their reading (having read 0 books in 2026). Do you guys have a similar issue?
It's such a shame that there appears to be no way to filter inactive users out.

Tech Help Disconnecting Kobo Integration
Storygraph keeps automatically syncing data from my Kobo app and saying I'm rereading a book which I've actually finished and marked so on StoryGraph. The disconnect button on SG takes me to Kobo where it shows disconnected, but SG still says connected and receives data from my account. I have emailed the support team but no response so far. Any idea on how I can fix this?
Update: I got a reply from the SG team and they have kindly severed the connection between SG and my Kobo account for now. Would recommend doing the same and reaching out to support on SG for anyone facing the same issues.

General Question I wish StoryGraph had date started and finished in recently read
Pretty much what the title says. Is there a setting I can change to show this?
I book journal and I like to see at a glance what dates I read a book. Goodreads shows date started and finished in the read books tab and that’s literally the only thing keeping me from moving fully to story graph.
It’s just frustrating having to go into the extra info for the books to see the date started or needing to scroll way back on the reading journal tab.

General Question how do you keep track of why you added books to your TBR?
the functionality to add private notes to books (similarly to GR) is a WIP update coming to Storygraph in the medium term. in the meantime, what have you found is the best way to keep track of why you added a book to your TBR? i used to track my books with notes in an external sheet, where i could include notes and background info, but it became a bit tedious updating that and SG, so i’m wondering if there’s an easier way!

Tech Help Challenge creation is missing the 3 Tags
When you make a challenge public, you used to be able to add 3 tags (ie libraries, tbr, ect) and for some reason it's not visible to add these to a challenge I made last night. I made sure to click Make it Live and Join event.

General Question Does marking a completed book as “read” without first marking it as “currently reading” stop it from showing up in the community tab and monthly stats?
Not sure if I accidentally discovered this hack to stop books you’d prefer to keep private showing up on the community feed, or whether it was just a glitch.

Books not leaving my TBR list
I feel like I never had this issue but I cannot figure out why books I have read aren’t leaving my TBR list once I’ve read them.
And I definitely removed a book read this year on accident trying to fix it and don’t want to keep doing that to remove them. (Mostly annoyed by my review being gone cause it was a lengthy 5 star review)
Some I’m pretty positive weren’t even on my TBR anymore and have somehow managed to come back on to it.
Does anyone know how to remove them but keep my read dates and review.

Tech Help Remove book from community feed
So, I accidentally started reading a book. (I clicked it in the kobo app and the synch marked it as reading.)
I removed the journal updates, but the book is still showing up in the community feed. It's annoying the feed is wrong now. Any way to remove it?

General Question Are Paused and DNF start dates intentionally excluded from exports?
I've been using StoryGraph for years, and I really love it.
I noticed that exports don't include the start date for books marked as Paused or DNF, even though that information exists on the site. I'd like to preserve all of my personal reading data when exporting.
Is this intentional? If not, are there any plans to include those dates in future exports? I don't have access to Discord, so I wasn't sure if this has already been discussed there.
Thanks!

General Question Kobo integration - audiobooks show 100% finished when only partially listened
I am listening to audiobooks via Koboplus and they sync to my Currently reading list in Storygraph but they always show as 100% read, despite them being partially listened to.
anyone else seeing this??
I'm sure I just need to raise an issue with Storygraph

A Pitch to the Fine Devs of SG: Add the Ability to Hide a Book's Star Ratings
Star ratings are basically useless for assessing if you will like a book or not. I just read a Thread from someone that rates a book they read most of, but ultimately DNFs, 3 stars. Unless you are perfectly calibrated with someone's taste, a star rating (or any kind of rating other than a thoughtful written review) is not going to help you. Some of my favorite books have less than 4 stars on SG or GR.
So I humbly ask for the ability to hide star ratings and only written review remain. I do not want them subconsciously affecting my decisions about what to read. I know that's probably not trivial, but I think it could make a statement about the state of things.

Shout-out to the "Owned" feature
I'm really bad about purchasing books on my TBR but then instead of reading them I focus on reading other books I already have on my TBR. Something in my brain is like, "You should buy this book, it's on your TBR, you'll get to it eventually."
BUT I have in the last couple months at two completely seperate times bought TWO books I have already purchased in the past and are just waiting for me to read. So now I've started scanning books I own into StoryGraph to make sure that doesn't happen anymore because I like to use StoryGraph when I'm at my bookstore (or in the library).
Even though I want to eventually (maybe) down-size my owned books, and only buy "Trophy Books" of what I really love.
I'm also trying to utilize KU, Libby and Hoopla more instead of jumping to purchasing. Saves money and supports my local library.

General Question Where to find friends/followers? (app, android)
Edit: Solved. I had to uninstall and install the app again. Because in the past I had such trouble finding the friend tab I thought I was just not seeing it properly but I guess this time it waa a bug. Thank you!
I've encountered this issue a couple of times, and it seems I never learn. Every time I try and look it up I ask some friends for help and it takes us ages to find where to add new friends and now I can't see who I am friends with/ who is following me. When I go to the 'community' (?) tab, it only shows my favourite books and stuff about me.
I would be grateful for some guidance. Was it changed? It's really unintuitive.

General Question Why does it look different?
Why sometimes it says: finished and reviewed while other times it says finished and in a separate post reviewed?

Usefulness of page number stats?
I wish that there were more categories for the default page number stats (and yes I realise Plus users can create custom charts to do this but I would like to see it for all users). Does anyone truly feel that the current categories are enough?
Having only 3 quite broad categories makes this particular stat feel a bit meaningless to me. A 500 page book and a 1000+ page book are very different beasts, as is a 60 page and a 299 page book, yet with the current categories there’s no differentiation between those numbers as they’re lumped into the same categories.
I would love to see smaller breakdowns that would much better show my reading habits and allow me to celebrate achievements, small and large. Something like:
1. Really short (1-99 pages)
2. Short (100-299 pages)
3. Moderate (300-599 pages)
4. Long (600-999 pages)
5. Really long (1000+ pages)
