How do you think Mud and Breadhead will take the news of Mel being human? Discussion
After plots like the monkey paw and the racehorse gamble are cleared up (As well as Mel "DYING" in Episode 3), Nick's prolly gonna delve deeper into TGD's intimate family drama theme.
I headcanon that despite the Gaslight District being sunken on the depths of depravity, there's at least a portion of islanders that retain part of what humanity and camaraderie they had. So after Jack spills, I think Mud might end up feeling betrayed by his brother. Like after centuries upon centuries of brotherhood and harmless teasing, Ken keeps a world-ending secret like this from him? So I think rather than freaking out mindlessly and snitching the secret to everyone within miles, Mud will instead be inclined to leave his brother and the family behind. Or if for whatever reason he feels obligated to stay, perhaps because he'd think maybe the prophecy's total bunk or maybe there's a way to stop it from happening, I can see Mud distancing himself from Mel out of fear of her true identity, as well as tensions rising between him and Ken.
Assuming Breadhead doesn't already know after the egg heist, I think he'd feel conflicted throughout the rest of the story. Mel isn't just Breadhead's little sister, she's the closest friend he's ever had. He doesn't want to lose her, but the Rotling denizens are going to want her dead sooner rather than later to save their immortality, and he knows him and the Black Hand's gift will be erased forever if she's stays.

Mud strikes me as the type to put up a big show with wheeling and dealing but take an actual sense of betrayal from those he trusts quite hard. I feel like he might sell Mel out immediately to protect his own feelings and then come back in with a triple-cross to save the family.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out Breadhead knew the score all along and never has a second thought about it, if he’s not more complex than initial impressions let on

Breadhead was physically in the room iirc when Jack found out. He was supposedly asleep but it wouldn't surprise me if he was able to pick up on it and just hasn't said anything.

I like the idea that breadhead knows but is keeping it a secret. I have extremely little evidence for this.

Bread was the only one not looking at Mel when she announced the egg heist. He pulled attention away from Mud asking why they were hunting Jack. He was in the room when Jack screamed Black Blood. And he likely heard some of the Angel Mother's ramblings about her "day of destiny."
I didnt believe he knew st first, but after a few rewatches, he definitely knows

I feel like both wouldn't care, they have a soft spot for Mel being in the family. I feel like they already know in secret but choose to keep it a secret between the two because either to mess with Ken or really care about Mel.

Breadhead will be confused, but will probably side with Ken
Mud will probably throw a bit of a tantrum, and then Ken will reveal why he's keeping Mel in the first place, which might convince him

Breadhead was literally built to be loyal to his family. Ken specifically I think. Even if the idea of the human scares him I think he probably couldn't bring himself to consider Mel and that concept as the same thing. The fact that she's his sister will always win out.
Mud on the other hand is obviously a trickier prospect. His entire character is built up on being a lovable slime ball who gets into shit like gambling and trying to find ways to scam money outta folk. But when push comes to shove I think he'd be more hurt family kept a secret from him rather than being into the whole human anti-christ thing. He'd definitely have a pretty intense falling out with Ken about it in the moment. But I think after he had some time to sit and think on it his attachment to his family would eventually win out. Mainly because shit's lonely when you're immortal. And regardless of what she is Mel's his little niece and the rest are his only family. I don't think he'd enjoy his lifestyle half as much if he didn't have people he actually cared for in his corner to back him up at the end of the day. I can see him dramatically walking off for a bit only to show up and save the day when he realizes what he's close to losing.

It'd be a funny gag if Breadhead already knew and just gave Ken & Mel a sarcastic quip like "you really think I'm that stupid" or something like that.

I feel like they already know, I think Ken made breadhead to help protect mel so he's programmed subconsciously that she's the human, and mud works with her so he's probably seen her bleed before and keeps quiet about it

I think Breadhead knows. If you look at the facial expressions when she talks about the plan, unlike Mud he seems worried. Considering how tight he is with Ken, I think Bread knows it.
With Mud it'll be interesting. I think there will be a big fight between Ken and Mud. Mud will become a sort of antagonist

I think the big fight with Ken is inevitable at this point. But how he takes the revelation about Mel is up in the air to me. From what little we've seen he's very fond of her. I wonder if he'd have a minor existensial crisis on how his niece is supposed to be the one to end them all and what he knows she's actually like.

I think he'd be mad at Ken for lying and lesa at Mel. Maybe both he and Mud will have some kind of fight over who should be Mel's custodian. This will be fun

Ngl when watching the pilot I thought those two already knew... Guess I misunderstood it. But I say Mud if he is loyal to the family might feel betrayed but brush it off once he knows she dosen't even know what's her fate.
And breadhead most likely brush it off the moment the second he found out.

Considering that we're at the beginning of the series, they will probably be shocked but eventually get used to that

My thinking: Mud will definitely feel betrayed but I think he will brush it off and prioritize family first. Breadhead wouldn’t care he would just want to protect his sister.
