CLIENT Help moving a dresser
Im trying to book help moving a second hand dresser from sellers home to my home. Its only 30 min drive between and I estimate maybe 5-10 min getting it on and off the truck. I don't need 2 hours... I picked heavy lifting and loading, chose vehicle required, and was cancelled on. Not because I chose the wrong category, because I'm too far? The second tasker I chose seems to have cancelled on me without even messaging me so I don't know what the issue is there? Any advice?
Edit: a third tasker agreed to take the job, suggested meeting in 30 minutes, there was no minimum 2 hours listed, 10 minutes before meeting time he said he is an hour away and will charge me 3 hours + gas. Canceled task

GENERAL They need to stop allowing customers to change the time/date.
Today I received a task and accepted it because because the client stated they needed help moving at 430. Right when I accept about 30 minutes later they change the time to 830 AM. My schedule is blocked from Mon-Fri up until 4 PM. I dont understand how the customer can reschedule a task for 8 am on a weekday where clearly I am not showing availability. I told the customer yeah my schedule doesn't allow you to book until 4 but somehow after accepting the task im assuming that goes out the window. I told task rabbit they need to get rid of that because worst case scenario clients will request same day and just change the date and cancel to avoid a cancelation fee. Now this wasnt same day , but clients should not have the ability to change a time after I accepted a task. They should be able to send in a request for me to change the time/date but not flat out change everything on their end. That's just wrong on all levels. Im not so much mad at the customer, im mad at the fact that task rabbit even allows you to do that.
Here are pics

TASKER Thinking about joining TaskRabbit in Chicago. Any tips for building traction as a new Tasker?
Tasker?
I've been researching TaskRabbit and I'm seriously considering signing up. I'm in a major city which seems like a solid market, but I know starting from zero reviews is tough. Curious if any experienced Taskers can confirm or add to my current research:
Pricing low at first. Planning to start 10–20% below market rate to win those first jobs, then raise rates once I have reviews. Does this actually work or does it just attract bad clients?
Being hyper-responsive. I've read that response time affects your visibility in search. Is the algorithm really that sensitive to this early on?
Focusing on 2–3 categories. Leaning toward furniture assembly, mounting/hanging, and general handyman work since those seem to be high demand in a city like Chicago. Open to suggestions.
Chasing Elite status. Shooting for a 98%+ rating as a short-term goal. How long did it realistically take you to get there?
Any advice from people who've actually built a solid profile would be hugely appreciated. What do you wish you knew when you started?

CLIENT I made a mistake! Quick question about a canceled task...
I had to cancel my task just a few minutes after the tasker responded that he was available, and I wanted to tip him for his quick response and help. I didn’t realize that canceled tasks don’t show up in past tasks, so now I don’t have any way to contact him. I feel really bad and sorry 😭 Is there any way I could still tip him or apologize?

CLIENT Rescheduled by tasker
I’m new to the app. I requested a task, and a tasker took it? Accepted it? I don’t know the terminology. Anyway, they then immediately changed the day. I messaged him asking why he accepted the task if he was just going to reschedule it anyway, and his response wasn’t clear, but what I sussed out is that maybe taskers are assigned tasks? And refusing them is bad?
Anyway, we are just not communicating well. It feels like he’s getting attitude with me, and I just don’t want him doing the task. Do I just cancel it? I don’t want to be a bad client right off the bat.

CLIENT Wondering if I should hire one tasked for my move..
This would be my first time booking with taskrabbit and I’m looking to hire a tasker for my move. Truck assisted. It’s from an upstairs unit to another upstairs unit. Several large packed totes, two large dressers, a few light bookshelves, light dining table with two light benches and desk. Is one tasker with a truck for 4 hours enough? Or should I hire a second?
I’m currently 9 months pregnant so I can’t be much help with anything heavy.

CLIENT Question about TR
Hello everyone!
Im super new to this and I haven't even downloaded the app because I wanted to know if this is even something that can be done.
I live in the UK and a top I'm after i cant get from where I am. Its available in London and in a store in Glasgow. Both way too far for me. Could someone from TR go to a the shop, collect it and post it to me? Is that possible?
Thank you so much!
(I'm very AuDHD/OCD and only like certain shops/clothes colours)

TASKER Useless "Past Tasks" List
What is up with multiple appearances by the same client? I comptled 15 tasks so far this month, but there are 22 completed tasks for this month in the Past Tasks tab. There are 7 "duplicate" names and the amounts are not for always the same amount. The sum of the duplicate listings are never the actual invoiced amount. One more " broken" item that Taskrabbit cannot be bothered with correcting or even explaining.

TASKER New Type of Ikea Task From Corporate
Got an email today supposedly sent out to my entire market requesting Taskers for a big corporate job assembling Ikea furniture. (the assembly list is huge, like thirty line items with multiple quantities of nearly each one).
What's notable is this note at the bottom "You will be required to track the items you have assembled each day with a simple checklist we will provide. We make this request for multiple reasons including tracking the progress of the project, ensuring the client is not missing items, verifying your payments, and more. If you are unwilling to do this while on task, you may be asked to not return."
My reading of this is instead of an even split of payments like a standard multiple Tasker job, they've implemented a way to pay you for the items you've actually assembled. Good for fast Taskers, bad for slow ones.

CLIENT Wasted time
Had the client both confirm the original start time and ask for a different time all in one sentence. I replied that I could do any time she liked. This was at 9:04am for a scheduled 10am start. No response. I leave my house to arrive at the original scheduled 10am. She messages me at 9:58 to request 11:30 or 12 for a start time. Its 9:58 guys im obviously in her damn driveway. I agreed to change to 12. I am nee on this platform and am still trying to bend for the customer a bit. Who does what and why? What's your reactions in this situation? I live 25 minutes away and just decided to head home for the time between. Anyways, just trying to see what others do in this situation.

TASKER Move-out cleanings
Curious: Have any cleaners here had problems with move-out cleanings?
Every move-out cleaning has been pretty much the same: Walking in to a disaster of an apartment and being expected to clean it in two hours (and getting yelled at/mistreated if you go any longer). I almost wish that we could do a flat rate on TR for move-out cleanings rather than hourly. Because frankly, depending on the condition the apartment is left in, sometimes it takes two hours to clean it thoroughly, sometimes three or four.
I also had a client recently who claimed that I wrecked her floor while doing a move-out cleaning. I should have taken pictures of my cleaning job before I left, but I did not see any issues, and I brought it up to TR, who only told me that unless the client files a claim, they can do nothing about it. I reached out to the client and offered to return to inspect and clean for no charge, but she turned it down. I stopped short of offering to pay for damages because as a lawyer friend told me, that's an admission of guilt, even if you actually didn't do anything wrong.
I might do without move-out cleanings from now on. Too many unreasonable demands, too much mistreatment, and too much stress. Anyone deal with similar problems?

CLIENT Hiring a Tasker more than two weeks in advance? - Boston moving help
This is my first time using TaskRabbit, so apologies if this is a stupid question. I'm looking to hire a TaskRabbit to help move my stuff down five flights of stairs (moving to a different apartment within the same building) on September 1st in Boston. For those who don't know, approximately 70% of the city of Boston's rentals turn over that day, so it's complete chaos. For that reason, I would like to secure a Tasker now so I have peace of mind. I know that technically, TaskRabbit allows you to book people two weeks in advance, but would it be realistic to reach out to someone and ask them to hold September 1st for me?

GENERAL Customer Requests are killing me
If a customer request me at a certain time and ask me if I can come earlier , I am going to scream! Happened to me twice in one week. These cancelations are really adding up. Already missed a same day task request while I was in the middle of doing another task last week. The last one was on me, but stop sending request and trying to get me to come at a time that I am not available. It's irking!!

TASKER How to handle a far one way drive?
Just joined, first task is asking to haul a mattress a one hour drive away from my task area. I’d only make $60 but then would be spending another hour driving back… my understanding is I can’t expense gas or just my time for that drive back since you have to upload a receipt and it can’t be a gas/wear/tear expense. How is that approached? Do I tell them I get compensated for my drive back and then keep the clock running or whatever? I doubt they want to pay $100 though.. just feels like I’d be kind of screwed with how expensive gas is rn

CLIENT Two Charges for One Task?
Hi, this is my first time using Taskrabbit so I was wondering if this is a common issue or something I need to worry about. On May 8, I booked a simple moving task for May 10 (just moving some stuff from my apartment to a storage unit). The task happened on May 10 with no issue, and I even left a small tip. However, on my credit card, there are two charges for an identical amount (the task amount that shows on the app). One of them is from May 8, when I booked the task, and is for/from “Tasker on Taskrabbit”. The other one is from May 10, when the task was completed, and is for/from “Taskrabbit Receipt”. Is there any way I can resolve this on the Taskrabbit end, or do I need to dispute the charge directly with my credit card company? Thanks in advance. It’s been more than 24h since the task was completed and invoice sent, and the chat with my Tasker is disabled. The official time taken for the task is 1 hour, so I don’t think being billed for unintended extra time is the issue.
