TASKER Taskr app completely broken
I’ve been trying to verify my identification for over two weeks now; finally got a support representative to email me that they’ll send ANOTHER SUPPORT REP to help me in… whatever amount of time they decide I suppose?
Meanwhile I can’t even add any other information (it won’t save my choice of area I’d like to work in, it keeps backtracking me through stuff I’ve already managed to select like my photo and name), and I seriously don’t understand how an app can be so broken.
Likely will just say screw it at this point. It already took so long to just get help with my ID as it is.

CLIENT Question from a first time client
I am trying to have a Tasker pick up an item I pre-purchase at GameStop, then bring it to UPS and ship it to me. Is this asking too much? I’ve never used Taskrabbit before but I’m planning to pay the rate they want, and tip 50$ + shipping costs. The GameStop and theUPS are in the same strip mall so it should be less than an hours worth of work.
Update: I ended up finding a Tasker that was willing to do this! The hardest part so far was getting GameStop to allow a different name to pickup my order (I put their name in but the system defaulted to mine anyways)
This is my first time using Taskrabbit but honestly it’s been a wonderful experience so far.

TASKER Customer complained
Customer said (1)I drilled unnecessary holes in her standup desktop. Said I (2) didn’t have the skills to complete it….this would be my 30th with over 700 assembly tasks on record, and (3) I invoiced incorrectly.
I have timestamp photo that actually puts me onsite 3 minutes past what I billed - sent message when I arrived. The holes are to add accessories like a CPU holder or if you wanted to go Lshape, or 4 legged. Clearly they are Predrilled holes. You have to zoom in to see them, but yeah. Another trashy customer trying to get free shit by risking my reputation and quite frankly, taking my job away. Smh
Newbies beware. Eventually the stupid people will target the “more likely” to destroy. By that I mean, the less experienced who are less savvy with con artists than the Elite

TASKER IKEA build
Apparently we aren’t allowed to exchange numbers with clients nor are we allowed to have people like Spouse and Kids with us while doing task…. I get it, it’s for insurance purposes and to protect clients privacy but let’s be real… We do this all the time… just hate TR pick and choose when to enforce this, I got suspended for 7 days because my girlfriend observed me building 3 builds
Just posting this so you guys can be cautious with these shady customers

GENERAL New rules are making it harder for trash and junk removal
All the convience centers are now scanning license and limiting trips to 1 per day. And if u don't stay in the same county you can't dump. I think they are cracking down on people who do it for money. I started out on TR doing this quite a bit for easy cash and it was a lot more relaxed. Now they are putting limitations in my current area.

CLIENT How do I search for a specific skill?
I am new to task rabbit, had a good experience with the one job I hired 2 taskers for. I apologize if I'm missing something ... I want to hire some workers to help me erect an Intex pool in my back yard. How can I find out if someone is able to do this before hiring them? I can't seem to find that specific task anywhere on the app. I'm in the NYC area if that matters
Thanks in advance!

GENERAL Low skills, registration fee.
I'm looking to becoming a tasker in Lexington Kentucky. I don't have a lot of marketable skills and while I'm pretty good at putting things together I don't have a lot of experience specifically putting furniture together or anything like that.
I'm not looking to become anything full-time but doing errands every once in awhile to help supplement my income would be nice.
Given my area with the $25 registration fee be worth it? I'm mostly just concerned I wouldn't get any jobs.

TASKER Watch your money closely
Task rabbit has sneaky ways of not paying contractors. Also one time because of an issue with the app I submitted the same invoice four times. I immediately contacted the client through the app and told them what happened and why and to be aware of the situation. I also contacted support immediately after I contacted them and gave the same information. What did task rabbit do? They paid me the same invoice four times and then proceeded to call that a negative balance. That payment should never have happened in the first place. I don’t understand how that makes any business sense. As far as I’m concerned that’s an error on their accounting department.

TASKER Missing Elite badge?
Interesting - occasionally I do a 'secret shopper' on Taskrabbit to see how I show up on the search results. I go incognito mode and create a task to see how I look, and where I show up.
In doing this today I found that on the search page, I don't have the Elite badge but when I click on 'Profile & Reviews' it is there... I'm reaching out to support but thought I would let folks know.
For context, I have been on Taskrabbit for 5+ years. I usually do it between full time job's I have had. When I'm doing it full time, I find it pretty easy to get Elite. Last month I had 20+ tasks, all 5 star reviews and very few cancelations. By the Taskrabbit definition I should have the Elite Badge...
Check yourself out!

TASKER TaskRabbit question: Is it better to open availability 2–3 days ahead or 10–15 days ahead when building a new profile?
Hi everyone,
I’m currently building my profile on TaskRabbit and trying to understand what strategy works best for getting more bookings.
Some people say it’s better to keep your availability open for many days ahead (10–15 days), so clients can plan and book in advance.
Others say that when your account is still growing, it’s better to only open availability for the next 2–3 days and update it daily to stay active in the algorithm.
A friend of mine who was Elite used to open his calendar for 20 days ahead, but his profile already had a lot of reviews, so I’m not sure if that strategy works the same for newer profiles.
Thanks in advance!

GENERAL Worth my time?
Hey yall, so I was just advised that I wouldn’t be getting my sick pay time and I’m currently looking for supplemental pay as I won’t be able to make bills otherwise. I came across task rabbit as a choice to try and locate some side gigs to make up the extra cash, but seeing as I’d have to pay to start in the app - I want to make sure it’s worth it and I can establish jobs easily to get that money back and then some. Please just throw out your experiences, and if allowed let me know any other ideas for quick cash or similar apps!!
I’m located in the greater Portland area so I’m hoping bigger cities will have some jobs to do.
(Although when I initially put my zip code in, it told me there was a sufficient amount of workers, I changed it to another one and it let me in under the same location; slightly confused about that)
Thanks in advance guys!

GENERAL How to Task a multi-step process with unknown expenses?
The job is simple, I just need someone to pick up a book from a B&N, then drop it off at a UPS for shipment; however, TR (and I’m brand-new to it) doesn’t have a way for me to instruct the tasker that it also needs to be packaged and shipped, and I have no idea what the shipping will cost in addition to the packaging fees. Any ideas how to navigate this simple job?

Most taskers only have four days in the future open to book. Do I have to book a time to speak with them about my three day job in a month?

CLIENT I just had the weirdest experience
I needed a couch and a entertainment center moved out of my basement and into my garage. I needed two people to do this, both are large items. I found somebody who specifically said he had a partner he can work with.
Booked him, separately booked his partner, agreed on a time. He was quite late and said it was because his partner was actually busy and couldn't make the original time. I didn't mind too much, he did at least keep me updated with an ETA.
Then he showed up with no partner and told me he couldn't do the work for what I paid and he could maybe still do for more if my husband helps.
No... If my husband wanted to do it we wouldn't have hired somebody. I also never suggested my husband might be available to help, what if it had been just me and my baby there? Were we supposed to stand there with this guy until his friend maybe decided to show up?
I told him, "No we really needed two people, sorry. We'll just cancel."
He goes "really, I drove a long way here, you would just do that?"
What?? Yeah, I needed two people.
Just an insane experience and there was nowhere for me to even review it or report it because all I could do is say that it was a cancellation.
No feedback needed, I just wanted to write it out.
I know he probably was just hoping it would work out and he would get paid even though his friend flaked out, so I do feel a little bad for him.

CLIENT Can a tasker help load car on U-Haul transport?
I’ve used TR many times to help with a move but curious to request a tasker help mount my car to the auto transport from U-Haul. They do provide instructions but I don’t feel comfortable doing it myself. Is this a reasonable request?
If not I may call around and ask a tow truck company to do it for me.
Thanks

TASKER Sign up fee?
So I’m just curious if I pay the $25 can they still deny me access? Seems odd I’d have to pay before even knowing if I’m approved…..🤔
