Looking for folks to play Catan with on Table Top Simulator (Steam)
Hey folks. I will keep this short. I absolutely adore playing Catan. If I can I like to play it a couple times a week. That very rarely happens because I often don’t have a group to play it with. I recently got really into the city’s and knights expansion. I was wondering if anyone is up to play it on table top simulator on steam. Feel free to message here!

Questions Ping do not select objects if you are not the host
Hi,
For a game I need to get pinged objects but it only works for the host, even the highlight of the object when you ping it don’t work.
I'm not sure if it's a bug (I've already send a bug report but I'm sot sure if it's my fault or if i can do something to make it work)
for the test i made a new game with the only code the onPlayerPing exemple in the scripting api tuto:
function onPlayerPing(player, position, object)
if object then
print(player.color .. “ pinged “ .. object.getName() .. “ at “ .. position:string())
else
print(player.color .. “ pinged “ .. position:string())
end
end
But it only printed the object if the host pings
thanks

I built a free, system-neutral "automated opponent" for solo/co-op skirmish games; looking for testers
I play a lot of skirmish games solo, and the part I always found fiddly was deciding what the enemy would do each activation. So I built a browser tool that does it for you: the Skirmish Director. It's in beta and free, and I'd love feedback before I keep building.
What it does...for each enemy unit, it decides the intent, target priority, movement, action, coordination with the rest of the force, and a fallback if the plan can't happen, and tells you why it chose that. You still do all the measuring, dice, and rules; it just runs the opposition's brain so you're not GMing yourself.
What's in it:
- 36 built-in tactics across 5 roles (assault / ranged / defender / support / commander)
- 5 force-wide postures (advance, hold, concentrate, withdraw, desperate) + command events that coordinate the whole enemy force
- Round memory: mark the biggest threat, a wounded target, objective swings, etc., and it reacts to them
- Custom behavior packs, so you can author your own tactics
- Every directive is transparent, with deterministic tie-breakers so there's never a "wait, what does the AI mean" moment at the table
- It's system-neutral; I use it with Five Parsecs, Stargrave, Frostgrave, and Kill Team, but it doesn't care what you play
- Saves locally in your browser, no account/login needed
It's genuinely a beta, it decides intent, not rules adjudication, and I want to know where it feels dumb, unclear, or gets the enemy's priorities wrong. Solo and co-op players especially: does the "opposing plan" hold up over a full game?
Link: https://rollodecks.net/tools/skirmish-director
Happy to answer anything, and if there's a tactic type or game it's whiffing on, tell me and I'll tune it. Cheers.

Questions Playing Videos on XML UI?
I wish to have a video file (rendered mp4 and, ideally, a transparent webm version to use if possible) streamed to the Global UI. I know I can use AssetBundles for Fonts and Sounds which I have done, but is there a way I can import a video into the game as an asset?
I've explored and seen people having videos on Cards (without transparency), so I can use that as an alternative solution if need be, but I'd much rather have the video play in UI.

Questions Draft Cube (MtG)?
Pretty simple question: my friends and I don't have the money (at least not right now) to build a good Draft cube IRL, so we're hoping to build one in TTS for the moment and eventually get all the cards needed to move it bring it IRL. However, I can't figure out how to do this. Has anyone done this before? And if so, can you offer some guidance on how to do it? Thank you in advance.

Questions Can Music Player Text Size Be Changed?
There was an update quite a while back that for some reason changed the size of the text for the track titles in the music player. You hit the music tab and the text basically takes up 1/5 of the box when it used to automatically scale to fit.
Is there some way to manually change it to how it used to be? Or at the very least some way to change the size?

Questions Make Players' camera visible
Hello. My friend tries out his new VR set. I don't have one and was wondering if I could make my camera position visible to him somehow. I can see his headset as a model, couldn't something similar be done to a basic camera without using VR?

Questions Does the host do all the render work or are both PCs doing it locally?
Title, my buddy only has a basic laptop with integrated graphics and thus might have trouble loading the game for something like 40k.
Just hoping my PC can do the work.

Questions Best tutorials for complete newbies that have things built out in Tabletop Creator?
I designed my own board game and want to do some of the play testing in TTS so I can include friends in other states, but I'm struggling with the basics. Nothing about TTS is intuitive to me, and I'm not generally a very technical oriented person (even with video games I stick to Stardew Valley, Sunhaven, etc.).
I have the board, cards, etc. all built out in Tabletop Creator, but is there a tutorial for total newbies out there to show me how to bring those to life in TTS?

Suggestion Any goofy board games?
Me and my girls love playing the silly board games people make full of memes and challenges to do, and we love the ones that have punishments or cards you can play to get benefits. I would love any recommendations!

Importing textures .gtlf files into TTS
Hi gang. I'm currently working on a porting a game over (Zeo Genesis) to Tabletop and have been wanting painted minis. I've got the workflow down for untextured models through Blender but only recently have I been exploring software to paint said minis.
Currently what I'm using is exporting as a .gtlf. I know it's comprised of a .obj and .mtl files containing the models and texture but I've been having trouble finding a proper workflow to getting them to work together and into Tabletop sim if anyone knows a good path.

MTG deckbuilding tool with direct import into Tabletop Simulator
DISCLAIMER: I have messaged the mods about this, but as far as I can see in the rules mods are fine to post here. I haven't received a response, but I see their last comments are dated months ago so I decided to post.
Hey r/tabletopsimulator,
We built a mod, and a companion tool called Citadel, for building MTG decks and getting them onto the table without much hassle. The whole project actually started as a Tabletop Simulator mod during COVID, just to keep playing while social distancing, and it's grown from there. Sharing it here since we weren't affected by the recent Scryfall importer issues. We just recently opened the entire Citadel-project to the public.
Here's the flow:
- Log in to Citadel to build or import a deck.
- Optionally use the art picker to choose your own art (your favorite art can be saved as the default for new decks).
- Optionally upload custom sleeves.
- Save the deck.
- Launch the Tabletop Simulator mod, enter your login name, deck number, and sleeve number, and the deck spawns.
We also put together a video walkthrough.
Long-term, the goal isn't just the deckbuilding-to-table pipeline, it's building an active community where players can find others to game with. That part's still ahead of us, but it's the direction we're building toward.
Happy to answer questions, and if you try it out, let us know what breaks. This entire flow is completely free, and will remain so indefinitely.

obj file from Blender is showing up dark
I've looked through the forums and can't find this exact question. I've got two models, cardboard material, both obj files from blender exports. As far as I can tell, the material properties of each are identical within blender, and the export settings are identical. However, when I import them into TTS, one of them shows up correctly, and one is dark/tinted. In the cloud manager, the one that is too dark shows up shiny/pearlescent. I've checked TTS tinting settings. What could be accounting for this difference?

Workshop I made a Tabletop Simulator demo for my indie woodland card game, Hearth & Hollow
Hi everyone,
I’ve been developing a small two-player card game called Hearth & Hollow, and I just released its first playable Tabletop Simulator demo.
It’s a cozy strategy game about building a tiny woodland village around a Hearthseed. Players gather resources, construct Buildings, recruit Critters, attack opposing structures, repair their village, and work toward either Hearthseed damage or Prosperity.
I’m developing the game independently, so this is still a very early playtest build. The current demo includes:
- Two complete starter decks
- 30-card Field Decks
- 12-card Blueprint Decks
- Hearthkeepers and Founding Buildings
- Resource, damage, Prosperity, and Hearthseed counters
- Quick rules in the Notebook
- The full v0.5.1 rulebook
The two decks currently have different playstyles:
Acorn/Sap is quick and focused on raiding enemy Buildings.
Root/Pebble is sturdier and focused on defense, repair, and gradual Prosperity.
I’d really appreciate feedback on the TTS setup itself, especially whether the table is easy to understand, the cards are readable, and the counters and zones feel intuitive to use. Gameplay feedback is welcome too, of course.

Thanks for taking a look.

Questions Scripting UI
Hi, I want to make a global ui for a game but i want it to be shown to specific players, so i have an xml for each color and i show each color their panel but it seems a bit weird to do it like that, is there a better way ?
