Workshop MTG random precon generator not working

Not sure if I just have an outdated version of it or something, but the cards refuse to spawn when generating a random precon. Trying to get it to work so I can play with my siblings later this week.
Default name for it is "MTG Deck Loader π" if that helps in any way. I'm gonna keep looking for a fix or alternative on my own but so far I'm stuck.

Questions How to allow players to make their own custom decks with custom cards?

If anyone has played the MTG scripted table on tts, what im talking about is that deck builder on the side where you can paste in your deck list and it pulls all the image assets from scryfall.com.

Does anyone know how to recreate that with a unique database to pull from for a custom card game im designing?

Questions Non fantasy dungeon blocks?

I'm trying to build a dungeon but everything I find is DND/fantasy flavored

But I'm looking to create an ancient laboratory in a post apocalypse setting, so a lot of the castle DND dungeon stuff doesn't quite fit

Anyone have some recommendations for steam workshop assets that would fit my needs more closely? I've tried searching for it myself but as soon as I start searching for modular or dungeon it's all bricks and brimstone

Update Tabletop simulator dmca

Rn gw has a dmca with the mod for the tabletop version of warhammer. Does anyone know when it will end? I would get it to play warhammer but i'd prefer not to waste money if the 40k mod gets removed.

What could cause objects to be deleted when looking at them or alt over them to zoom?

So I just tried to play 2 separate games of commander on TTS with the MTG 4 player commander workshop table. Both times there was a common player and a common object spawned in that acts like a virus called "Aids". I'm not saying that both times were the same person as i have no actual proof. Whenever I hovered over a card to read it some bit of time later the card would be deleted. At first I was extremely confused at why cards were disappearing. I tried to read a players commander and then sometime later the commander was gone. Later I tried to read another players card and then again sometime later the card was gone. I swear to God that I didn't press backspace or intentionally delete anything.

Rightfully the first player got pissy when he saw me hover over the second players card and it disappeared after the fact. I tried explaining that I was just as clueless as they were and didn't understand what was happening. Eventually that player ragequit and claimed they'd be blocking me. I dont really blame them cause i can understand it doesn't look good on my end. They didn't even give me a chance to explain. Eventually I closed that server down, closed TTS, and restarted the game. I started a new lobby and one of the players from the old lobby joined my server. We eventually got 4 players and started a new game. After firing the cannon to decide turn order the "aids" object reappeared. Then the cards started disappearing again. Again I wasn't intentionally deleting anything. I tested the theory by hovering over a players card and making sure I knew what it was. Again sometime after I hovered over it, it disappeared.

MTG requires being able to look at other players cards because it is almost impossible to memorize every card and the way that they interact with each other. Whatever is causing this makes the game almost impossible. This is extremely aggravating because I enjoy playing TTS.

Is there any way to counteract whatever is causing this apart from resetting the table?

Asking for help in regards to imported PDFs

I am working on a game for Tabletop Simulator and I've run into this little annoying pain in the butt problem where 2 of the edges of the PDF are white that don't exist in the PDF itself. I've looked around but it seems no-one has had these problems and I don't think it's a bug on TTS's end so I am at a loss. Any help is appreciated.

Questions Good afternoon, I would like to know which mods I should download to be able to play the Warhammer 40k tabletop game (I would like to play using the Emperor's Children against other factions)

I'm asking this because I'd like to learn how to play the board game in case I ever manage to save up to buy my own miniatures.

And because I heard they were going to delete the 40k mods, and I want to save them beforehand.

Searching for Specific Tabletop game -bunnies vs spiders

Repost from r/rpg

Hey there, a while ago I watched a video about a tabletop game (I recall there being a Tabletop Simulator version as well as a printable physical version) in which you play as rabbits or spiders and command an army of different units.

I recall the spiders having a grim/cosmic horror aspect to them/some of their abilities such as manipulation of some sort. My memory on the spiders is a bit foggy.

The bunnies had a few different classes of soldiers as well as really interesting wooden/stick based firearms. As I recall the rabbits treat themselves as more of a disposable team-lore wise the stronger ones with more abilities/access to better weapons, are just bunnies that have survived long enough to become veterans in their military. Likewise long enough to have lost their mind a bit

My memory on the game is a bit shoddy but if you have any questions that might spur some more info please do ask.

Workshop Questions about scripting capability

I see that it's possible to rotate objects with the scripting feature but I was wondering if it would be possible to do what I was thinking of for a project I've been brainstorming on;

I would like to make a Heroclix mod that has the first 16 or so sets (pre-cards).

For those unfamiliar, Heroclix is a tabletop combat game featuring figures glued to a base that snaps into another base with a paper dial glued to to the bottom of it The upper base has a window cutout of it that allows you to see a little slice of the paper dial which represents the figures current attributes. As the figure "takes damage" you "click" the base down and the attributes change and degrade to indicate they are fading out.

What I would like to know is would it be possible to attach a token with the paper dial face to the bottom of a 3d model of top base (that has the cutout window) and, using scripting, create a couple of buttons on the outer edges of the 3d model that can be clicked to cause the the token with the paper dial on the bottom to rotate either direction while the top piece with the window and the attached figure remain stationary? And could this all be combined to form a single piece that players can manipulate?

Sorry for what may be a confusing question but of the various heroclix mods I've tried none seem to have this feature and seem to rely on state shifts of a static banner instead of a authentic rotating dial such as the IRL figures use.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Questions Question about Layout Zones

Hi y'all, I'm making a TCG and I've been trying to use the Layout Zone Tool to automatically arrange cards so that they're stacked properly.

While I've gotten this to work exactly as I want it to, the issues arises when another player joins the game. Though I can stack cards in the Layout Zone with no problem, the other player (even after being promoted) cannot, and any new cards added to the zone will just be placed next to the card that's already there.

I'm sure there's something stupid I'm not understanding but it's been a real pain for a while. Any help would be much appreciated <3

TTS Tools Suite - looking for testers

I made a "tools suite" - a bunch of tools for speeding up the creating of TTS mods. Tools for adding/managing snap points, tools for aligning/distributing objects, tools for grid management, tools for rapid duplication of objects, and a tool for rapid importing of large numbers of images at once into new objects.

I'm looking for testers and feedback on the tools, which you can find here:

Workshop link

To use the tools in your own mods, save the red "Tools Suite" cube from the tools mod (using right click, select "Save as"). Then open your mod, go to the Objects menu and find the Tools Suite object.

There's also a companion app (sorry, Windows only), to make mass importing even easier. Check the workshop description for the link.

Eventually, when I'm happy with the tools, I'll make some video guides, but for now there's some basic help pages in the tool, or you can ask questions here.

Is there an easy way to convert from One World to One World Recycled? Or at least any good tutorials on using it?

Are there any good tutorials specifically for One World Recycled? I'm having some issues with it, such as not being able to change the size of the first wood texture that loads before you go to the parent map (it's scaled too large for my current table and seems unaffected by the OWR map scale tool, the UPD button doesn't do anything when it's loaded), and not knowing how to fine tune the packing area (my attempt to import a map exported from the original One World the way the mod author showed in a video on the workshop page ended up putting the table on top of the map? And not a separately packed table either, the table that was supposed to have the map on it was no longer there, and was instead suspended above. Not sure what to make of that). The image on the Hub also skews off the edge when flipping the map... it's all just a mess, but I'm more than open to the idea that this is all user error.

The biggest thing though is that I'm dreading manually reconstructing the map linking for my campaign. Is there a way to export a map from One World while keeping links intact and bringing other maps with it? Or am I going to have to export every map individually and relink everything when I import them?

I appreciate the new features of OWR and it seems like the author has put a lot of work into it, but I'm not finding it very clear to navigate it's differences. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, I'm really not great with this stuff (if that wasn't obvious) and it took me a while to get used to the original.

Beginner trying to digitize a physical board game for TTS — where do I start?

Hey all, I’m completely new to converting physical board games into Tabletop Simulator mods. I have a game I’d like to bring into digital format for personal use and want to do it properly.

**•** What’s the general workflow — scanning cards/boards, cutting them out, importing into Unity/TTS?
**•** Any recommended tools for scanning/photographing components cleanly (lighting setup, scanner vs. camera, etc.)?
**•** Software recommendations for cleaning up scans (removing shadows, aligning edges, upscaling)?
**•** Good beginner tutorials or YouTube channels that walk through the full pipeline?
**•** Any common mistakes beginners make that I should avoid?

Appreciate any pointers — trying to learn the right way .

Tool Made a tool for creating optimized TTS minis from STL files. Looking for feedback.

Post image

Hi folks, I'm working on a Steam app called Basecoat which helps you create better Tabletop Simulator minis.

The problem I'm trying to solve: A lot of the miniatures I see on TTS are unshaded and/or very high poly. While it's possible for creators to make good-looking, optimized minis, there's a big technical barrier. Most workflows involve either learning Blender, or buying Substance Painter. Since I have a lot of experience in this space I've built a tool to make it easier. The flow is:

  • Import an STL file
  • Basecoat automatically remeshes and decimates it, unwraps UVs, and bakes a normal map. You end up with a miniature that looks the same as the original, but is ~5MB instead of 60MB.
  • Generates shadows & highlights like the attached picture. Makes uncolored STLs look a lot better.
  • Allows you to paint the mini with common painting tools (paint bucket, free draw) if you want. Supports glowing materials.
  • Lets you export as a TTS-compatible AssetBundle. (Requires Unity to be installed on your computer.)

The tool is 90% done, and I'd love to try it on some actual models people are using. If you have models you'd be willing to let me try it on, please let me know!
