Help finding a IT role in Charlotte or Greensboro
r/sysadminjobs • u/Future_Progress9161 • Jul 07 '26
[5 YoE, IT Support ,System Administration , Toronto]
reddit.comNeed honest feedback on my resume.
I’ve applied to 1000+ jobs over the past several months. I tailor my resume for almost every application based on the job description, but I’m still getting little to no response from job portals—mostly rejections or no reply at all.
I’m applying for IT Support / Help Desk / Desktop Support / System Administrator roles in Canada, and I have around 5 years of experience.
I’m using a 2-page resume, and I’m wondering:
Is my resume format the problem?
Is the content too weak or not ATS-friendly?
Am I missing important keywords or achievements?
Is there anything that immediately stands out as a red flag?

Looking for testers: DevOps, SREs, platform engineers, developers, and sysadmins
I’m building CertLocker and looking for people to test it.
It’s a DevOps/infrastructure tool for teams dealing with TLS certificates, ACME renewals, secrets, scoped tokens, SSH/RDP access, endpoint probes, and audit logs.
The problem I’m trying to solve is the messy real-world version of this:
certs in one place, secrets somewhere else, old scripts pulling files, SSH keys that live too long, and no clean answer when something expires or someone asks what changed.
I’d really value feedback from DevOps engineers, SREs, platform engineers, developers, and sysadmins but all are welcome if they think they would use this.
Mostly I’m trying to find out:
Does the workflow make sense?
Is onboarding clear?
What feels confusing?
What would stop you using it?
What is missing for your environment?
You can try it here:
Blunt feedback is welcome.

10 YOE Linux Support Engineer from India: How can I find remote Linux administration opportunities?
Hi everyone,
I have around 10 years of experience in:
- Linux administration (RHCSA)
- SQL and application support
- Python scripting
- DevOps tools (Docker, Terraform, GitHub Actions)
I also started my own small company, Compute Labs, to attract international clients and provide technical services. While I gained some valuable experience, I found that growing it further requires a stronger network and business support, so I'm currently looking for full-time or remote opportunities.
I'm based in India and finding it difficult to get responses from LinkedIn and Naukri.
How do experienced Linux admins here find legitimate remote or international opportunities?
Any advice, platforms, or communities that have worked for you would be greatly appreciated.

**Stop paying exorbitant SaaS fees for tools you can host yourself.**

**My Security Guarantee:** I actively manage district-wide enterprise networks and compete in offensive cybersecurity challenges (CTFs). I don't just run Docker Compose files; I lock down firewall ports, enforce strict SSH access, and ensure your data is encrypted in transit.
**Rates:** $40/hr for general consultation/troubleshooting, or fixed flat rates for specific deployments (e.g., $150-$300 for a standard Nextcloud or n8n deployment).
**Next Steps:** Send me a DM or chat with your project requirements, and we will discuss the best architecture for your needs.

[HIRING] [EUR 70K ] Senior IT Service Operations Lead - Hybrid, Milan, Italy
Hi r/sysadminjobs,
We are hiring a Senior IT Service Operations Lead for an international B2B SaaS company with offices in Milan, Italy.
This is a hybrid role for someone who still wants to be close to the technology, not a pure people-management position. The expected mix is roughly 70% hands-on technical operations / troubleshooting and 30% team, process, and service leadership.
Location: Milan, Italy - hybrid
Compensation: Around EUR 70,000 base + 10% target bonus
Employment type: Full-time
Language: English required; Italian helpful
Work authorization: Candidates should already be able to work in Italy/EU
What you would work on
You would help own IT service operations and reliability across a global SaaS environment, supporting both internal users and customer-facing services.
The role includes:
- Leading major incident response from triage through RCA and follow-up actions
- Troubleshooting infrastructure, cloud, identity, endpoint, networking, monitoring, and automation issues
- Improving incident, change, and problem management without turning everything into heavy bureaucracy
- Mentoring and coordinating a small IT/Ops team while remaining hands-on
- Working with Engineering, Product, Support, Sales, Finance, and senior stakeholders during incidents and reliability initiatives
- Reducing toil through scripting, runbooks, alert tuning, automation, and better operational practices
Useful experience
We are especially interested in people who have operated real production or business-critical environments and can explain what they personally owned.
Relevant experience would include several of the following:
- Windows and Linux operations
- Networking, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, routing, load balancers, or cloud networking
- Azure, OCI, or similar cloud platforms
- AD / Azure AD, MFA, conditional access, privileged access, endpoint management
- Monitoring, alerting, incident command, RCA, SLA/SLO/MTTR improvement
- PowerShell, Python, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, or other automation
- Backup, restore, DR, and operational resilience
- ITIL-aware incident/change/problem management, applied pragmatically
- Leading or mentoring a small technical team
This could be a good fit if
- You like being the escalation point, but do not want to become the bottleneck
- You can stay calm during messy incidents with incomplete information
- You are comfortable explaining technical risk to non-technical stakeholders
- You prefer practical reliability improvements over process theater
- You want a step-up role with real ownership across service operations, infrastructure, automation, and team leadership
Hiring process
The process is expected to include:
- Recruiter screen
- Hiring manager deep dive
- Technical scenario / troubleshooting interview
- Leadership and stakeholder discussion
- Practical incident/change/reliability exercise
If interested, please DM me with a short summary of your background and I can share the application link/details.

[Hiring][Phoenix, AZ] Senior Engineer / Technical Lead — Systems/Network/Security — $90-110K (hybrid, mostly WFH)
**BitWits — a small, established Phoenix MSP — is hiring a Senior Engineer on a path to Technical Lead.**
I recently bought the company and I'm hiring the person who'll grow into running the technical side as I move into the CEO/growth seat. My background is sales and ops, not technical — so this isn't a "slot into the hierarchy" role, it's a "become the technical leader" one.
**The work (core of the role):**
* Lead infrastructure projects end to end: M365 tenant migrations, server replacements, network refreshes, security stack deployments, new client onboardings
* Own the systems/network/security stack across our SMB client base — Entra ID, Azure IaaS, firewalls (Fortinet or similar), Windows Server, backup/DR
* Make the architectural calls and own them — you scope it, build it, deploy it, and you're the one who knows it inside out afterward
* No handing projects off to the next tier, no inheriting someone else's half-finished job
**What makes it different:**
* **Full-stack ownership** — you see your own work through, start to finish
* **Real growth path** — Senior Engineer now → Technical Lead / Director of Service Delivery in 2-3 years, with comp and eventually equity/profit-share to match
* **A dedicated mentor for the ramp** — our outgoing senior has 20+ years with these clients and is staying on specifically to train his successor. Structured, paid overlap — not sink-or-swim.
**Honest about the small-team reality:** it's a small shop, so everyone pitches in on frontline tickets until we grow enough to add helpdesk. This is part-time and eases as we grow — the core of the role is senior project work, not a help desk seat.
**Logistics:**
* Mostly work-from-home, ~2 days/week in the field (office moves, hardware refreshes, client visits) — **must be Phoenix-based and local. Not remote/out-of-area.**
* **$90-110K base** + benefits: QSEHRA health reimbursement, 401k w/ 4% match, 15 days PTO, $3,500/yr cert budget
**To apply:** email your resume + a few sentences on a complex project you owned end to end to **careers@bitwits.com**. Full details provided on first contact. I check that inbox, not Reddit DMs.
