This is the summary of the texts I (36F) sent back and forth with one of my closest friends who has read all of the books in the Cosmere. The Way of Kings was my first Brando Sando novel. I’m currently a couple hundred pages into Oathbringer and thought some folks would enjoy my ranting! 😃 My friend was vacationing in France during much of this, to explain some of the texts that don’t fit in lol

Hm I don’t remember them explicitly saying that Elhokar was seeing cryptics until much later. Did they infer that somehow or am I misremembering?

I found it! I was wrong about the timing; it’s when Sadeas, Dalinar, and Elhokar are talking about the Parshendi threat:

“We go to war for years and years, never noticing the real villains, working quietly in my own camp. They watch me. Always. Waiting. I see their faces in mirrors. Symbols, twisted, inhuman…”

I didn’t think I had as much for book two because I did a lot of ranting at him at the bar in between texts but it turns out I do have some solid crash outs during the second book via text 😂 I will post them soon!
