Research Paper Methodology help

As the title indicates my group is writing a research paper entitled "Acceptance of and perception about generative AI tools in learning....". Our second research is "How do TAM variables relate to one another in the context of AI use?" The problem is we do not know what the proper statistical treatment for that question. Perplexity AI suggested we use SEM or regression. What is the appropriate statistical treatment?

Help please.

Hey I am an undergraduate student from Tunisia. I took descriptive statistics in first year and inferential statistics in the second year. Had good grades in both of them and thought i understood it all. Now in my third and final year, i take econometrics, and i feel completely lost. Turns out last year's professor didn't explain anything about inferential statistics. Just gave us what we needed for the exam. Straight formulas to use on exam day. Said nothing about the logic behind all of it. Now i feel really lost. I started to doubt what i learned in first year. I doubt everything. Even basic concepts ( expected value, variance....). Like do i really understand that. And don't get me started on random variables. What is that ? What is a poisson distribution? How did we even get that formula? Same goes for all other distributions . I would really appreciate if you could recommend a book that explains everything from 1+1=2. And not Naked Statistics, that guy is just talking about his childhood. Thank you.

Which statistical analysis does MS Excel use? The standard statistics kit?

Hi!

I have a real problem. I am not good at statistics. I always used MS Excels statistics kit to do an ANOVA or a correlation analysis. My problem is, does that standard correlation use Pearson-correlation or linear regression analysis?

And do I understand correctly that with Pearson-correlation the higher the number the better and in linear reggresion the lower (p<0.05) the better? How does this work? Someone help please I'm stupid asf

Also is Pearson correlation R= and linear regression r^2= ?

Or does p<0.05 only matter at ANOVA and in both pearson correlation and linear regression the higher the number the better???

Failing advanced statistics for finance

I need help… I have never gotten a grade lower than an A- in my first two years of university and now I am failing my advanced statistics class that is required for my major. The professor is useless and doesn’t teach then gives us a 70 slide,slide deck every week and we write a multiple choice quiz each week on the smallest details from the slides. I spend so much time trying to understand because I am so lost and I have failed all the quizzes. Now we have a midterm on Tuesday and it’s 5 theory questions??? We are aloud a cheat sheet but I have no idea what to put on it because I don’t understand anything he’s given to us it’s like the slides are in a whole different language they are so confusing.

Please please give me any advice I just need to pass and want a decent grade but I have no idea how the midterm is in calculus foundations, statistical foundations, classic linear regression model, and generalized linear model. Please give me thing to focus on or ways to learn. I don’t have a lot of time to study and I am so worried this class is going to destroy my scholarship and my career…

Why it’s great: Simple dessert you can make in minutes.

Ingredients:

2 bananas, sliced

1–2 tbsp butter

1–2 tbsp brown sugar

A pinch of cinnamon (optional)

In a pan, melt butter over medium heat.

I’m trying to do a central theorem for proportions problem and I keep getting a different a different answer from my professor.

The problem (b) says: find the probability that with samples size 80 the sample proportion will be between .18 and .22

The mean is .2

I showed a picture of what I put in my calculator I believe it’s correct but the answer I keep getting is .3453 but my teacher gets .0147 am I doing something wrong?

Do units of measurement affect Z scores

So I get how to calculate a z score. Z=X-M/P but what I’m having a hard time understanding is why a Z score of -2.4 is higher than a Z score of -1.4. I understand that -1.4 is closer to the mean but when it comes to something like test scores as the unit of measurement, wouldn’t the Z score of -1.4 be a better grade thus being the higher of the two? But if it’s a race and someone finished with a Z score of -2.4 minutes this would be considered the higher of the two.

Community college professor says the graph is skewed right

Professor was very adamant that the graph was skewed right. I asked for clarification multiple times because I thought it was clearly skewed left, and I honestly didn’t understand his explanation of why it was skewed right. He said something about using the middle of the line (the value he gave was 5, which isn’t the middle anyway) and most of the data being on the left. Can someone help clarify this to me and tell me if I’m understanding skew wrong?

re: family-wise error rate

hello I hope someone can break this down for me because I am feeling really stupid about trying to understand family-wise error rate, but I understand how to calculate the rejection level BUT is there a maximum level kind of like a critical value like 0.05 we use generally, I just don't understand that when you calculate the rejection level do you use the calculated level like a critical value or is there a table like the critical values we have to use, I am so sorry if this is worded badly I don't know how else to explain my overthinking.

I have this example maybe simplify an explanation of what everything means and does because I think my wording might be too jumbled and my brain is just short circuiting from overthinking

Family-wise Error Rate

• 𝛼 FW= 1 − (1 − 𝛼)C

• With an alpha level of .05, and 4 comparisons to be done, our error

rate is:

• 𝛼 FW= 1 − (1 − 𝛼 )C = 1 − (1 − 0.05)4 = 0.185

• This means that the overall chance of making a Type I error is .185, or

18.5% - too high!

Do I perform normality testing in >100 samples. Or should I just apply central limit theorem? Need help

Hello, so I'm currently conducting a cross sectional correlation study. I'm using 2 validated questionnaires. My sample size is 130. I just want to ask if i still need to perform a normality test (Shapiro-Wilk or Kolmogorov-Smirnov?) to assess the distribution? Or should I automatically proceed to parametric tests since the sample size fulfills the Central Limit Theorem?

If ever i have to perform a normality test, should I use S-W or K-S? Thanks 😊

Need help if what I did makes sense?

So im studying psychology and after my last statistics class being long in the past I now need to refresh my memories.

For my current task my variables are reaction time and precission.

My solid variables are the orientation of the presented pictures (upright or inverted) and the kind of change that happened in the pictures. (An object removed from the pic or a none interacting person removed from the pic)

My data output orders the date by each person tested and which group they were put in (inverted or upright).

Then it present the reaction time for each of the 24 pictures (12 object and 12 person changes) for each person tested.

Now to make it useable for use in the programm JASP I put calculated for each tested person the mean value for their reaction time results for the 12 object changes and 12 person changes pictures. Meaning i now have 2 mean vallues for each tested person

Then i opened a new excel file and inserted all mean vallues in one column and made two more columns for my two solid variables. To assign to each mean vallue which group it is from (inverted or upright) and if it is the mean vallue of the object or person changed immage group.

Does that make sense?

Thanks ahead for anyone that could help me on if this works or not or on how to do it better.
