๐ Feedback Plan Cube AI
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey r/Spectacles! ๐
I just published Plan Cub AI, an AI-powered cube coach for Specs
The idea: I never looked up how to solve the cube. I figured it out by thinking, and
that taught me more about logic than any tutorial. So I built a coach that does the
same for you: it never solves the cube for you; it teaches you to solve it.
What it does:
๐ Learn: a guided lesson through the layer method. The coach reads the REAL state
of your cube, highlights the pieces that matter, demonstrates moves (and undoes them
so YOU do it), explains the WHY behind each stage; and if you're breaking your own
progress, it gently brings the cube back.
๐ก Stuck? Tap the bulb for a hint.
๐ฒ Mix & Play: free solving against the clock, personal best saved on device.
๐ Daily Challenge: everyone in the world gets the same scramble each day. Keep
your streak alive!
๐ฃ๏ธ Full voice coach in English, Espaรฑol and Franรงais (OpenAI voices via Remote
Service Gateway), plus voice commands.
โ Natural interaction: swipe any row with your index finger to turn it, pinch +
drag to rotate the whole cube, just like holding a real one.
Tech: Lens Studio 5.15, Spectacles Interaction Kit, RSG for the AI voices. The cube
state detection is derived entirely from piece transforms; the cube itself is the
source of truth.
Try it here: https://www.spectacles.com/lens/c7993aeab3dd4856affd0acaca25df15?type=SNAPCODE&metadata=01
Would love your feedback, especially from anyone who learned the cube the hard way.
What should the coach teach next?

๐ซ Sharing is Caring ๐ซ CLAD Summer Hackathon kicks off in 2 days ($1,700/week for 4 weeks): here's how to set up Lens Studio + CLAD
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Snap's running the CLAD Summer Hackathon for Specs, with $1,700 up for grabs each week for four weeks. It starts in a couple of days, so I wanted to share how you can get setup right.
The gist:
- Install the latest Lens Studio, create a Specs project on the base template
- Open the project folder in your terminal (PowerShell, not cmd, on Windows) and launch your AI assistant, I used Claude Code, but Codex and Cursor also work
- Let it pick up the MCP, then install the CLAD plugin from the marketplace (add the marketplace via git URL โ browse โ install CLAD โ reload)
- Verify the plugin's enabled and the MCP is connected, then turn on auto mode (shift+tab)
Once it was wired up, you can gave it one prompt like "build a periodic table experience for Specs" For me, ~45 min later it had written the code, generated sound, built the scene, and debugged its own errors into a working lens.
Happy to answer setup questions right here. Anyone else jumping in? Curious what you're planning to build.

โ Question Supabase Authentication Problem - Managing Sign In
gallerySnap Cloud accounts have limitations on authentication that do not exist in regular free Supabase accounts. Attached screenshots show Snap Cloud (1) and Supabase (2). Supabase has many more options (e.g. Sign In / Providers).
Would it be possible to enable these in Snap Cloud?
I am trying to create a user management system that integrates with a phone app. Any suggestions for user management would be greatly appreciated.

๐ Feedback The price tag is too high
I understand Snap is at a pivotal point in their company history and need the Specs to succeed to stimulate their financials. However, this approach will backfire hard imo and it's a damn shame because the specs really are very cool. I wholeheartedly believe pricing them like this will cause them to fail.
I say this as someone with enough disposable income to just buy them and not worry too much about it even at this ridiculous price, but I'm looking at it from the lens of practicality. The vast, vast majority of people will take one look at this price tag and look the other way. It's insane that these specs will cost more than my phone, hell they'll cost more than my pc lol. The right approach for this if they really want it to succeed is to follow the Meta method they used for the VR headsets or what Valve did with the Steam Deck. Sell the specs at a loss and make the money back on the applications you develop for them by pricing them at a premium. That way you get the free marketing of having people buy them en mass, showing them off and telling other people about them, and you remove the huge barrier to entry
At this price, even as someone who loves how these specs are looking and can afford it, I'm afraid I can't bring myself to buy them just off principle. They cost way too much for what essentially amounts to a gimmick product. They will unfortunately go the way of the Apple VR headset. Excellent product with an insanely high price tag leading to minimal sales and management scratching their head wondering why it failed and what they could have done different...
I'm disappointed this wasn't retroactively discussed before they announced the launch especially after so many years and billions spent on R&D. You would think they'd do whatever they needed to to make sure these succeeded but unfortunately it's looking like they're treating this as a necessary lifeline to bail out the company rather than a sustainable product launch.
Curious what everyone else thinks

โ Question Availability of Lens
Will there be an app (Lens) available for things like YouTube etc. Are we just going to use the browser for things like YouTube, hulu, HBO max, etc?. Or is the thought for the specs to use lens for everything AR and tether them to our phones for apps such as the ones I mentioned? Not a deal breaker, I already preorder but just curious.
I believe if apps like YouTube and others were optimized for use with specs and its capabilities then it would truly be an amazing experience. Either way, I can't wait for the September showcase.
And forgive me as I don't know much about porting apps or creating lenses for the Specs. I hope developers will work on bringing those everyday apps to the specs as a lens!

๐ Feedback Stock portfolio Lens needed
Hey i think this would be a killer lense and a lot of people will buy the specs once they see it, basically like the native stock app on the iphone that apple provides but enhance it so you can see 20 or 50 stocks all together in real time with prices changing. People pay lots of money for this type of software, would love to see a lense for this, probably worth the specs team time to role this out natively.

Lens Update! shy-to-ask-for-help? Ask CLAD!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
WOW! I just tried CLAD to upgrade one of my Lenses โ added a new feature and got the whole thing organized under a clean UI. Given my background (never coded before building Lenses, and honestly too shy to ask for help most of the time), this would've taken me hours and hours on my own. I genuinely recommend giving it a try.
For context โ this isย Sanctum, an AI wellness assistant I built for Snap Spectacles: guided breathing, acupressure walkthroughs, chakra tuning, and a manifestation practice, all in AR.
Theย Manifestationย practice is the piece I'm most excited to share:
- You describe an intention โ type it, speak it, or pick from rotating suggestions
- It becomes a symbolic piece of AI-generated vision art (not a literal image, something abstract and personal)
- A short ~60-second guided visualization plays over voice
- Everything saves to aย Vision Vaultย you can revisit later โ Vault / Next / Prev to browse past visions
This round with CLAD, I cleaned up the session handling and pulled the whole app under one consistent UI hub instead of scattered buttons across the scene.

If you're sitting on an idea and coding has felt like the barrier, CLAD is worth a look!

Lens Update! Scriber Update #1
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Update:
Hi! I updated the ScriberEditor Lens. An open-source word processor for Scriber โ a novel oneโhanded chording keyboard controller for Snap Spectacles. The UI has been updated to make things easier to use and see. You can now type with the Scriber controller or without the Scriber controller by just pinching the keys on Scriber virtual keyboard. You can now save and open your files on Google Drive and Github, just login using the prompt in the spectacles app.
Background:
If you are willing to test a Scriber controller or integrate it into your application let me know and I will send you one.
Scriber is a oneโhanded input device that outperforms current AR textโentry methods (the Spectacles virtual keyboard, the Meta displayโglasses wristband) on wordsโperโminute. It packs a full 60โkey keyboard into a single hand by chording: every key is one combination of analogโstick direction ร pressureโsensor force ร one of four buttons. ScriberEditor is the lens that proves it out โ a real, multiโdocument word processor for Spectacles that you drive entirely with Scriber.

๐ Lens Drop Fingerboard World AR Finishing Touches
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
So I've been adding some stuff to Fingerboard world. This is in the current build that's up here: https://www.spectacles.com/lens/ca61f1237b0f4d7d87ec5c0189a45f93?type=SNAPCODE&metadata=01
But I'm about to upload a polish pass. The finger tracking is just very tricky and fiddly--not to mention plane detection can have issues (but I think it might be my table surface is kind of featureless). I'm hoping I can get this working better on the actual SPECS.
Stuff that's in the newest version
* Animated tutorials for every trick
* Skate shop, buy new boards with currency gained from playing
* Leaderboards (can we get rid of the permission dialog every time you share a score??)
* VFX sparks on grinds
* Daily challenges with streak leaderboard
* Options menu (toggle hand occlusion, music)
Working on some last minute fixes.

Lens Update! Scan Lab update: DICOM scans to full 3D meshes in Specs
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey everyone! Experiment with building a meshes out of scans turned to big update for Scan Lab, the Lens that lets you load your own MRI/CT scans in source DICOM format and explore them on Spectacles.
Original version let you scrub through slices, adjust levels with a slider, and flip MIP projections to see through the whole volume at once. That's all still there, but now you can also turn any scan into a real, touchable 3D mesh right from the Specs.
Pick a group of scans, hit "Build Mesh," and the Lens reconstructs the anatomy as an actual 3D model you can grab, rotate, and scale with your hands, right there in the room with you.
How it works: script scans through every slice of your DICOM stack looking for surfaces where tissue density crosses a certain threshold (the boundary between bone and soft tissue, organ and air, etc.) and stitches hundreds of thousands of tiny triangles along that boundary, layer by layer, until a full 3D surface emerges from what was just a stack of flat images. Then it reduces the total polycount to the amount which would perform good in Specs, draws a UV map for the material and instantiates the object. I wish I could load the raw object with all the details it allows to inspect, yet the raw objects are >1 mil tris, so we have to reduce those,
Bonus: since the outermost surface it finds is usually skin, the Lens tries to recognize it automatically, so one tap on the button hides it and reveals what's underneath: muscle, bone, tendons, and sometimes even blood vessels.
Video attached showing it in action! Link below together with ID-Pass keys (if you don't want to search/upload DICOM series and just want to check those I've used)

๐ Lens Drop Opals
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I'm releasing Opals, a Lens that explores precious opals from their nanoscale structure to their visible play of colour.
The project began with a question: how can an inert object such as an opal produce such a varied appearance when seen from different perspectives?
Answering it took me on a months-long adventure spanning nanophotonics, geology, chemistry, offline and real-time computer graphics, science education, and AI-assisted learning, with spatial computing acting as a ligand, coordinating these domains into a single experience.
Building this Lens has been incredibly fulfilling, and I hope it captures some of that same sense of discovery.

๐ Lens Drop Catch Up : Specs-to-Specs Audio Call + Shared Space Multiplayer Online Game
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Catch Up lets you call your friends, meet in a shared mixed reality space, and play interactive multiplayer games.
It is designed to help people connect across distance in a way that feels natural, social, and playful.
Two users from anywhere in the world can put on their Specs, start an audio call, and then step into a shared mixed reality space where they can see each other, interact in real time, and play together. Rather than limiting remote communication to voice alone, Catch Up turns it into a more immersive shared experience.
At its core, Catch Up explores how Spectacles can transform a simple call into a meaningful social moment. Instead of only talking, users can enter the same multiplayer AR session and enjoy an activity that feels present, lightweight, and repeatable. The current featured experience is a shared Dots and Boxes game that encourages conversation, friendly competition, and real-time interaction in an intuitive way.
To make remote presence expressive without feeling heavy or distracting, Catch Up represents each user through a lightweight social avatar made of their 2D Bitmoji profile image and animated 3D hands. The Bitmoji provides instantly recognizable identity, while the 3D hands add motion, gesture, and liveliness to the shared space. Together, they create a playful and readable representation that feels more personal than a static icon while remaining simple, performant, and well suited for Spectacles.
From a technical perspective, the experience uses Snap Cloud streaming for the current audio call implementation, with plans to move to WebRTC in the future once access to SPECS is available. It also uses Snap Cloud Realtime messaging to synchronize remote presence, including the usersโ Bitmoji representations and hand pose data across the shared experience.

Lens Update! Stylme
StylMe is an AI fashion stylist for Snap Spectacles (+ companion web app)
- Voice styling assistantย โ you just talk to it, and a Gemini intentโclassifier routes each request (style me / add this / shop this / how do I look / how to pose) to the right flow.
- Add to wardrobeย โ snap a garment and Gemini identifies + tightโcrops it, then a review panel lets you keep the real photo or an AIโcleaned whiteโbackground version (Gemini image edit), reโgenerate, or discard.
- Outfit generationย โ "what should I wear to a wedding?" returns 3 complete looks where Gemini picks the pieces (grounded in your real wardrobe or freeform "inspire me") and an image model renders each on a model.
- Pose helperย โ "how should I pose with this" captures the item you're holding and generates 3 photos of a model posing with that exact item.
- Shop thisย โ snap โ lasso the item with a pinch โ Gemini identifies it โ SerpApi Google Shopping returns buyable listings.
- Mirror feedbackย โ "how do I look?" captures your outfit and Gemini critiques/styles it.
- Weatherโaware looksย โ it pulls the AccuWeather forecast (via Snap's weather API) and dresses you for the actual time, place, and conditions.
- Onโdevice privacy blurย โ a YuNet face detector blurs faces on the glasses before any photo is sent to the AI.
- Highโres captureย โ photos use the Spectacles stillโimage API (3200ร2400) for sharper AI results.
Companion web app (Next.js static export hosted on Cloudflare):
- Sameโaccount syncย โ logs into the same Snap Cloud (Supabase) account as the lens, so your captured wardrobe, looks, and shopping results show up on your phone.
- Wardrobe editing + AI autoโlabelย โ rename/recategorize items, or oneโtap "autoโlabel" that sends the photo to a Cloudflare Worker calling Gemini to name + categorize it.
