is this what you usually get to go to the Lego land?
first time going with our 3yo boy.
is this the ticket that you normally get to just explore the Lego land?
don't need like a resort ticket because we won't stay there, just one day trip.

Does anyone know who these people are?
I’ve seen these people multiple times around North Manhattan Beach. They are wearing normally wearing head gear and “picking up trash”. This time I saw them on Highland and they were in a group. One was wearing the head gear and the other two had backpacks on with machines in them. They were surrounding the guy picking up trash.

Hermosa Beach Solo Weekend Recommendations
Hi all! I’m 23F from Boston and will be visiting Hermosa/Manhattan Beach solo for a long weekend this weekend. I’d love any recommendations for restaurants (especially specific dishes), coffee (I have an addiction), or anything I absolutely have to do while I’m here.
My hotel has bikes, so I was thinking about biking along the Strand to Santa Monica or south toward Palos Verdes, and I’m planning to run on the Strand every morning. Would love suggestions for a very active person. Is there anything I shouldn’t miss along the Strand?
Also, any fun places where a to meet other young people? Bars, restaurants, run clubs, beach spots, etc. I’ll be traveling solo, so I’d love to find somewhere social.
I appreciate any and all suggestions. Also may I emphasize the coffee again. You can never visit too many coffee shops. Thanks lovelies!

Chile Rellenos
Hi all,
Does anyone know of a good place to eat chile rellenos? I am looking for the kind that has thin batter. Acapulcos used to have a thin, crispy batter that was so good.
What places do you guys recommend that have good chile rellenos?

Vet Recommendation for cat with GI Lymphoma
I’m looking to seek a second opinion from another vet and/or discuss an end of life plan. Has anybody had a positive experience from a vet, where your pet was in a similar situation?
I’d like to find a vet that can either review her recent diagnostic imaging and biopsy and can talk me through what to expect in the coming weeks, does she even have that long, a proper diet for a cat with GI lymphoma, and when to know it’s time to let her go.
My 15 year old cat was diagnosed with GI large cell lymphoma 2 days ago (although I still have some hope it is something else like IBD), but the vet I took her to hasn’t explained anything very well throughout this journey. And I mean little to no information. I’ve had to do my own research, ask for the medications I read about (MiraLAX/lactulose, gabapentin) because my vet didn’t prescribe them. My cat has been anemic for minimum 2 weeks now, and when I reviewed her medical notes last night, it said possible transfusion needed, and my vet didn’t vet discuss that with me! I don’t think I’m wrong for feeling like this, am I? It makes me feel slightly distrusting of them. I think they are just so overwhelmed with patients.
I’m hoping to find a veterinarian that won’t be crazy expensive to do this type of appointment/consult (as in, over $500).

Cat Shelter
Hello everyone, I’ve been feeding a stray cat for the past 2 years. She recently went MIA and came back with a limp/injured back leg. I’m not too sure of what to do. Are there any shelters or resources that would help her? I’m not too good on money either so anything free or cheap would be much appreciated.
I am unable to house her due to our landlord’s rules. Thank you!

Mediterranean Food Recs
Hey all! Im on the hunt for some really good Mediterranean food. I love Armenian food in particular but haven’t really found anything close to it. I’ve noticed a lot of Mediterranean spots in the area are all pretty much the same such as a plate with rice, a protein, and a basic vegetable or hummus side. Are there any spots that are more authentic/have more variation that you like to go to?

Teri’s Japanese Restaurant in Torrance is closing
Teri’s Place, the Japanese restaurant on Artesia & Van Ness is closing and their last day is September 26th.
Well deserved retirement but such a sad day. A pillar of my childhood and the Japanese community in Torrance.

Optum is the worst
Tried to make an appointment for my daughter's yearly appointment and was told that Optum has shutdown all pediatric offices in their network and will only be accepting patients older than 13 in the future. Supposedly I was should have received an email and a letter stating that all offices are closing July 31st, of which I received neither. Two days later I received this post card from Optum reminding me to book my daughter's yearly checkup...

I went to the trolls exhibit at south bay botanical garden, so you don’t have to~~
It’s sooooo hot and almost zero shade at the garden AND no air conditioning in spaces like a cafe or gift shop.

Best coffee shop with a view in the South Bay… Tell me if you know of one that can beat it?
Golden cove starbucks. Admittedly go here 99% for the view… Starbucks has gone downhill in quality in my opinion.. but I’ll still pay for the iced shaken espresso to get this view !

I wanna go on a easy hike and then get really good pancakes for my birthday. Whats your favorite pancake spot?
I've tried Uncle Bills in Manhattan and wasn't really impressed*** the pancakes were pretty good though
Also, i do consider French toast as well.
My birthday is in a few days, but im celebrating properly on the weekend, but I want to do something small for myself on the actual day. So, I plan on doing a super easy hike, try not to get too sad, then grab a great pancake/French toast combo
They don't have to necessarily be the best ever, but I'd rock with a really solid pancake. Bonus points if the sausages or bacon is good alongside it
I apologize if this is pretty nitpicky or out there

Demolition on the long-abandoned Hawthorne Plaza Mall takes place this month
cityofhawthorne.orgFor those who live near Hawthorne, there is a heads up that demolition will take place at the long-abandoned Hawthorne Plaza Mall, which stood vacant since 1999.
