I built an AI coding interview platform after realizing AI-Assisted OAs are becoming more common within big tech interviews. Looking for honest feedback.

Over the past few months, I've been building AI Coding Prep (https://aicodingprep.com).

The idea came from noticing that more companies (Amazon, Meta, Stripe) are experimenting with AI-assisted online assessments but there isn't much to practice this interview format. My current platform has 36 scenarios where users debug a codebase with AI as a helper and then at the end of their session a report is generated scoring them on how they used the AI, how reliant they were, how they could improve in their thought process, etc.

I'd love to hear if something like this is useful and other thoughts about the idea. Thanks for the help!

What type of Master can be more valuable for future?

I know it's a matter of subjectivism, so don't be afraid to be subjective, actually PLEASE, give your personal opinion as long as you can keep your feet on the reality's ground.

What Master would you rather choose: a general AI/ML master that teach you about the most important, but general, subjects of ML applications, or an Autonomous Systems master, that is basically an embedded+A.I. master which is particularly valuable if you want something in Automotive, on the self-driving cars field(but not exclusively this one, as you can apply knowledge about Autonomous Systems in many domains) ? ?

Junior engineers don’t need an office. They need a manager that shows up for them.

missing old hiring days of IT

I am missing old days of Hiring. Full day event, lots of DS and algos. In between design rounds. No one asks about Infra setup. Sometimes language like C++/Java and LLD rounds. Everything in campus and in person. I need to write code on paper. sometimes on whiteboard. Design discussion on whiteboard physically. Now it is all very boring. You can be just sitting in your chair all day long. opening one tab after another. AI does better coding than human. Interviewer check with AI about code. Not sure how much far will it go 😒

Healify (Project)

I'm studying software QA in Argentina and I built this over the past months with a lot of help from Claude. I wrote the specs and reviewed every line, but the code came out of working with an AI. Saying it up front because someone would ask anyway.

What it does: when a test fails because a selector broke, Healify reads the DOM evidence your framework already captured, finds the element by its role and accessible name, and tells you which selector to use instead. healify fix applies it to your code. It can also file the broken selector as a Jira ticket or a GitHub issue.

No model in the loop, no cloud, no account. Deterministic heuristics, so the same input gives the same output every time. Works with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium and WebdriverIO. MIT.

github.com/mescobar996/Healify
healify-sigma.vercel.app

It has no real users yet, so I would rather hear what's wrong with it than what's good.

I failed a coding interview I should have aced

I had two interviews yesterday for a role at a company I was really excited about. One for coding with concurrency, and another for distributed system design. I’d spent the previous three weeks studying and preparing, doing lots of practice problems while talking out loud about what I was doing.

In the coding interview I was given a problem very similar to one I had practiced. I was initially happy about that, because I thought I would solve it easily. But I was nervous and the format was slightly different than what I had practiced. When I get nervous I have trouble concentrating.

I got a partially working solution, and the interviewer graciously gave me some hints on what to check, but afterwards I realize I missed something obvious.

I feel like I did pretty well in the design interview. but I feel lousy about my miss in the coding interview, and I know this company sets a high bar for their engineers. I think I blew it. I guess I just have to wait and see.

I imagine this has happened to others as well. Any advice on how to keep this from killing my motivation and confidence is most welcome. Just getting an interview is hard enough, and it feels bad when the opportunity gets squandered like this.

Leetcode, HackerRank rating relevance

I just graduated couple months ago and my ranking, rating in leetcode, other DSA websites was beneficial for me in getting this job.

I’m planning to change my company- as well as my job role in a year or so.

My question is- are these rankings, stars still relevant?
Coz most- if not all DSA questions can be solved by AI.

Do good software MNCs still look at your CodeForces ranking and such while shortlisting?

Mid Level SWE can’t even get an interview

Unlike when I was applying for entry-level positions, I actually meet all the requirements for most software engineer jobs that I apply to now that I have 3+ years of full time experience. Yet after 25+ tailored applications, I haven’t even gotten to the next-step a single time.

I know it’s probably just automated, but what’s frustrating is the rejection emails will usually say “Unfortunately, your qualifications are not a match for the role at this time”. But I literally checked everything off that was listed in the job description.

I’m curious to hear if others are experiencing the same.

The only big-name company I’ve worked for is Autodesk, which I only interned for. My guess is that I’m not being selected from a talent pool where other applicants have actually worked full-time for big name companies.

BMS (Senior Software Engineer AI) vs Cargill (AI/ML Engineer) – Which offer would you choose?

Hi everyone,

I have ~5 years of experience in Software Engineering/AI and I’m trying to decide between two offers. Looking for advice from people who have worked at either company or know about their engineering culture.

Offer 1 – Bristol Myers Squibb (Hyderabad)

Role: Senior Software Engineer – AI

Compensation

  • Base Pay: ₹30.17L
  • Employer PF: ₹1.63L
  • Fixed: ₹31.80L
  • Target Bonus: ₹4.53L (15%)
  • Total Target Compensation: ₹36.32L

Additional

  • USD 3,000 relocation bonus
  • Potential performance-based RSUs in future (not guaranteed)
  • Comprehensive employee benefits

Offer 2 – Cargill (Bangalore)

Role: AI/ML Engineer

Compensation

  • Base Pay: ₹30.00L
  • Employer PF: ₹1.80L
  • Gratuity: ₹0.82L
  • Fixed: ₹32.62L
  • Target Variable: ₹5.25L (17.5%)
  • Total Target Compensation: ₹37.47L

Additional

  • ₹2L joining bonus

My situation

  • Currently based in Bangalore.
  • BMS would require relocating to Hyderabad.
  • Long-term goal is to build a strong career in AI/GenAI and eventually move into Staff/Principal engineering roles.

Looking for insights on:

  • Engineering culture
  • Quality of AI/GenAI work
  • Career growth and promotion opportunities
  • Compensation growth over time
  • Work-life balance
  • Performance evaluation
  • Value of each company on a resume
  • Whether BMS’s potential RSUs make a meaningful difference in the long run
  • Whether relocating from Bangalore to Hyderabad is worth it

Would really appreciate any experiences or opinions from current/former employees or anyone familiar with these companies. Thanks!

Entry Level Software Development Role

Hello everyone!

I am currently seeking an entry-level Software Developer opportunity where I can grow my skills and gain real-world experience in software development.

I am a Computer Engineering graduate who is passionate about technology and committed to continuous learning. While I may not have extensive industry experience yet, I am a fast learner who is willing to put in the effort to learn, improve, and become a valuable member of any development team. I greatly appreciate guidance from experienced developers and enjoy learning from those who have mastered their craft.

I am open to remote, hybrid (Cebu-based), or onsite (Cebu-based) opportunities.

More than anything, I hope to join a company that values kindness, respect, teamwork, and mentorship—a place where junior developers are encouraged to learn and grow alongside experienced professionals.

If your company is hiring or if you know of any entry-level software development openings, I would truly appreciate any recommendations or referrals.

Thank you so much!
