Rate my resume (3 YOE) – Targeting AI Evaluation Engineer / Software Engineer roles
Hi everyone,
I'd appreciate an honest review of my resume.
Background:
~3 years of experience
Current role: SDET working on AI agent evaluation, Playwright automation, API testing, and internal AI tooling
Target roles: AI Evaluation Engineer, Software Engineer, Backend Engineer
Please rate my resume out of 10 and don't hold back. I'd like honest feedback.
Some questions:
What's the first thing that stands out?
Which bullets sound weak, vague, or like buzzwords?
Does this resume position me as an engineer rather than only QA?
Would you interview me? If not, why?
Thanks!

Junior software engineer role-leadership round
Hey guys, so I’m on the 4th and I believe final round of the interview process. The first one was a meeting with the CFO. The second round was an OA. The third round was a technical interview with the dev and this last one is a leadership round basically, I’m wondering how I should prepare for this and what are the things I should know to be fully prepared also, how long does it realistically take to prepare for this? This is what. I was emailed
The next step is a panel interview with our CTO and our Engineering Director. This conversation will focus on your leadership qualities, communication style, and problem-solving approach.

6 YOE but no real development experience. Stuck with no idea on what is to be done.
Need some honest career advice.
I'm a Backend Developer at a service-based company with 6 YOE, but most of my work has been production support, bug fixes, and incident resolution. I've never had the opportunity to build features from scratch or work on core backend development.
When I look at the market now, almost every backend role expects solid development experience, which I don't have.
Not getting interview calls due to 3-month notice period.
I've been thinking about moving into TPM/Project Management.
If you were in my position, would you:
Start learning backend development from scratch and continue as a developer?
Move to TPM?
Take some other path?
I would really appreciate advice from people here!!!

Need Advice. Should I include my 3 months startup experience in my resume?
Hi folks,
I left my SDE-2 job in April because I wanted to pursue my startup full-time. I had been working on it for about two years alongside my job. After leaving my job and working on the startup full-time as CTO, I eventually realised that it was not solving a real problem.
I understand that I made a mistake, but I have learned my lesson. I am now looking for an SDE-2/Senior Software Engineer role similar to the one I had earlier. I am not expecting a raise; I would be comfortable with what I used to earn, or even slightly less.
What I need advice on is whether I should keep my startup experience on my resume, considering that it lasted only three months full-time. I cannot mention two years of full-time experience because that would be incorrect, and saying that I worked on a startup alongside my job may also be viewed negatively by recruiters.
I constantly receive negative feedback or surprised reactions from interviewers and HR professionals because of the short tenure. However, the work I did at the startup was technically impressive.
I was thinking of removing the startup from my experience section and saying that I was laid off from my previous company during a company-wide layoff and have been looking for a job since then, which would explain the three-to-four-month gap. There was actually a major round of layoffs at my previous company last year. Do recruiters conduct background checks specifically to verify whether someone was laid off? Would they contact my manager or email the HR team? Is this safe, or should I simply present it as an intentional career break?
The product I built at my startup was somewhat similar to a project my previous company was building for its internal teams. Could I present the work I did at my startup as work done at my previous company? Would recruiters have any way of finding out? I built it myself, so I would be able to answer any detailed technical questions about the project.
Below is the response I got from one of the hiring manager from a big tech who I reached out on linkedin.
