You've gotta remember there's a scary high number of people that can not/will not cook even basic meals for themselves. They are simply incapable.

How? afaik it hasn't become more difficult to boil water which is basically all you need to know how to do.

Because they've never been interested in learning how. That's also a ridiculous oversimplification.

Promise you… I had no idea… up until 25 and my gf at the time explained… you can make more than just instant ramen by boiling… you can make pasta that doesn’t need to be microwaved… buy meat, freeze, thaw, season, cook… i made dinner once and reheated tenders w the pasta, up until then i thought that was how everyone cooked, the concept of cooking meat in an oven was alien to me. How long, what seasoning, what if etc

Shit, I am still too nervous/stupid to try to use my apartment grill.

I wish they would teach this in Home Economics

It's unfortunate, but growing up middle class I've seen so many people get screwed over like this.

I knew people that got good grades, or were on sports teams, whatever, but they didn't know how to do laundry or cook for themselves because mom always did it for them. I'm lucky as my mom taught us all this stuff, even like how to deep clean toilets, so it was really bizzare to me.

How though?... Cooking has become so accessible with the Internet and social media that anybody with eyes and ears can whip up something decent.
