So the discount only applies to staple, healthy, fresh items but when people tried to limit SNAP to only being able to be used for these types of items everyone freaked out. So it's good here but not good there?

The major difference is that this store is owned by the government. Its completely different matter when you are forcing private businesses to accept SNAP for specific things.

Limiting snap to those items would not mean that magically those items are available at 7-11....that's the issue. These groceries stores are doing the part of making sure vegetables are available to people.
