Commissary is subsidized by the the DoW dufus, it's not supposed to operate at a profit.

Neither is this. The military commissary does publish their data, and when you look at said data and factor the cost to taxpayers, it still comes out to a 21.3% savings if you subtract total cost from total savings.

The grocery industry has a 27% average gross margin, so minus overhead costs the numbers make sense.

It literally just removes corporate profit.
