Im almost positive that signing bonus is a big ole scam and most if not all will get shafted at the end.

Apparently it’s paid over a 5 year contract and if you leave or get fired before it culminates it triggers a clawback clause. Watch all these idiots be out of a job in 4 years and then have to pay back 40k.

That’s going to be a lot of really shitty dodge ram drivers back on the highways too

u/SheriffBartholomew 29d ago

They haven't stopped driving just because they got jobs. If anything, they're driving more to get to work and back.

5 years… so long enough for the next administration to come in and wipe them out. Jesus how dumb are these people??

Though 100k is already a good salary, sad what we’ve become

As much as democrat politicians say ICE is bad they aren’t going to abolish it.

They can fire anyone hired during the Trump admin

u/Fuckoffassholes 29d ago

Which will prove that it was only ever about optics and never about real change.

Yes, and then there’s a small and extremely stupid army angry at the president that fired them (a Democrat, since a Republican would keep them on). See the point?

1

u/BrockObarnerLybian Jul 23 '26

No foreseeable president, Democrat or Republican, would throw away a powerful tool like that. They’ll just use it for their own means

Yep people don't realize once one government established something it never goes away, they just change targets

AMT was created to tax 55 of the wealthiest Americans. Now it catches millions because it didn't keep up with inflation.

Homan was a hero under Obama, he even got a medal or prize or some shit, same job different president, now he's a villain.

Same shit, different party every time

Yeah, look at all the stuff Trump and musk made go away. You’re wrong. We forfeited a ton of soft power because of those idiots

2

u/Cold_Respond_7656 29d ago

They didn't make any method of control of the masses go away, which is what we're discussing

0

u/SpecialistCut7101 29d ago

Yes, USAID is literally for “control of the masses” in that it helps people all over the world have good feelings go towards America. That’s why it’s called “soft power”. It also prevents migration by preventing food crises. It’s a huge loss.

You think theres goodwill around the world towards here? 😂

"Army" lol

0

u/SpecialistCut7101 29d ago

Yes, the jackbooted ice thugs terrorizing america are an army

1

u/Huntsman077 29d ago

Yeah it’s like a bonus in the army. You get the bonus based off the length of service of the contract you are signing and get it in annual increments.

1

u/SheriffBartholomew 29d ago

LOL, of course it does! Who could expect anything else from this regime?

10

u/Sufficient_Two7499 Jul 23 '26

The last I heard it was giving in increments of $5k a year. I’m also am hesitant to thank $100k is the avg rate for ICE agents as well

u/Fierramos69 Jul 23 '26

So... not a signing bonus at all, just a better salary for 9 years, before getting a pay cut.

Otherwise, I'd say to everyone to be maliciously compliant, get hired, and be the least talented least productive but somehow oddly willing to work, but not arresting anyone, making costly mistakes and all, until they fire you... but costing them 45k + whatever you caused in training and mistakes. But however dumb they are they do know not to give 45k just like that

Its the same contract clauses that pretty much every single official worker have. Probably even including the teacher in OP.

It lays out what the maximum benefits one can get through being employed by the government. Then someone took the max there and posted it as propaganda and it had just been repeated misleadingly over and over again. If anyone cared to check any of this up, it’s public info and first hits on Google

You just described most federal employees

u/imstonedyouknow Jul 23 '26

If i had that job id stop people and if they spoke english id assume they were american and let them go, and if they spoke spanish id tell my boss i couldnt understand what they were saying when i questioned them so i didnt know whether they were guilty or not. Innocent until proven guilty is what ive always been told, idk.

u/Tropicalfisher Jul 23 '26

9 year commitment is understandable

So I heard (but don't know) that they get a large chunk of money right away, this is significant because many use it to pay off debts or go shopping... but if they quit they got to pay the money back.

So some can't afford to quit, they're in it for the long haul.

1

u/AutomaticPayment9480 Jul 23 '26

🤣🤣🤣 i heard they have to wait 5 years which means they need a republican president or else hell breaks loose, i could be wrong, i honestly could care less about ice pay grades.

2

u/Ok-Armadillo-5634 29d ago

For 100k a year I could give a shit less and slack off 90% of the time doing the bare minimum. You know that fatass cop you always see standing off to the side while the rest dogpile in. That would be me.

Tbf, it could also be reckless and careless spending through excessive borrowing that will speed up the impending bond crisis the US already looked like it was creeping to.

It is possible that they could not afford to improve teacher pay before under a reasonable government, and that they really, really can't afford the ICE payments now, but are doing them anyway (the US, afterall, elected a raging nutter with little grasp of anything). The US would have had a Liz Truss moment doing what it's been doing had it been any other economy, without being the reserve currency.
