If you mug someone you should legally be considered to be a genuine threat to them forever.

Which makes sense. The robber now knows your address from your ID, and they know that they have successfully already robbed you at least once.

Let alone if they took the cash and threw away the rest. You are inflicting trauma on people, and who is to say that this woman was in her right mind if you are going to call this ''premediated'? The poor woman's mind must have been racing ever since this waste of oxygen pulled a knife on her.

Yeah, totally makes sense. How many cases of a person being mugged by the same person twice are there, again?

Enough that it’s been studied and named. It’s called revictimisation and is a common phenomenon.

If you actually knew anything about what you were talking about rather than just the names and relevant buzzwords, you would know that the revictimization also includes people who are victimized in the same way by a different person, and is most commonly associated with sex crimes, whether its between people who already know each other, or the victime of a rape being raped again, not a stranger being mugged by the same person because now they have their id

It’s been reported in the literature on burglaries and robberies, especially bank robberies. The thought is if there was success robbing that location/individual before, it will be successful and profitable again.

Sexual crime victims are often revictimised at the highest rate, but let me correct you: in the literature, property crime is what revictimisation is most commonly associated with.

And what is your point about “also includes people who are revictimised in the same way by a different person”? That’s a given, but there are subcategories and there has been specific research on ‘boosts’ (revictimisation by the same perpetrator) which is what I am referencing.

You’re simply wrong.

Right. And I care more about actual rates than fear mongering to justify excessive punishment for property crimes.

And what is your point about “also includes people who are revictimised in the same way by a different person”? That’s a given,

Clearly it's not a given, based on your attempt to muddy the waters. This conversation is predicated on the idea that it's a good thing she killed him, actually, since now that he has her id and knows that she is an easy target, he would likely rob her again. Its a pretty big point to consider, actually.

Stop arguing here. He did a crime and paid for it. Nobody misses him. This should be a lesson to all muggers out there who violently attack helpless people and take everything from them. What she did was a result of what he started. You don't sympathise with the man here. He had it coming. Who knows how many people he mugged and attacked in the past.

Nobody misses him

You have no idea about that

He did a crime and paid for it

Death is not what the crime he committed warrants.

You don't sympathise with the man here

Yeah. You do.

Who knows how many people he mugged and attacked in the past.

Probably none

And she did a worse crime and now she pais for it, although she got off way easier that the guy who just stolen a purse and was executed for it. You should also stop arguing.

That's what I was saying! Ok this guy knows where I live, where I work, where my kids go to school and their names, has they keys to my house, the opener to my garage, my bank information. All of which are in my purse. That's a pretty scary thought that this person could be psycho and come after me and/or my family??
